  1. Yeah and look at the guy above him. What's not shown is how many times he's been sacked. I watched one game and I think that he was sacked 4 times in one quarter.

Big Ben Get sack alot, So does Aron Rodgers. So I quest they're bad QBs. That because they are trying to make plays down field. I quest they should check down each play.

  2. I agree 100%. I have always liked Brohm and wanted him the moment he was placed on the PS. - I think we see him start this season.

This is a great move and I cannot believe they went out and got him, I had only been posting about getting him for months. I posted about Brohm the same time they placed him and Meredith on the PS, and I suggested we get both of them....they went out and got Meredith, then Brohm...WOW. Come to think about it, I also posted many times about Nic Harris pre-draft, and how he was a beast and how he would be a perfect fit for the Bills cover 2.. Maybe the Bills are reading my posts....

PS: Hire Shannahan, or look at Harbaugh from Stanford. :w00t:

I like the Harbaugh idea. Look how he made Stanford a winning program. Even Trent Edwards couldn't do that.

  3. Fitz threw to his WR today. I didn't think we had any on the team when Trent was at QB.

Also Fitz can get out of a sack, Trent just gets killed.

On the NFL network , they showed the replay of Evans T.D. And Dion Sanders said Evans has been open all year. I thought that was funny, because thats what we all been saying all year except Edward diehards. We wouldn't won this game if Edwards was starting . He wouldn't thrown to the Evans ,instead he would've thrown it to the runningback for a 3 yd gain. Fritz wasn't great today, but he got it to the recievers.

  4. It does amuse me how Mike Mularkey looks like a real coach now that he's not stuck with JP Losman as his qb, but let's not let facts get in the way. The only real qb we've had in the past 10 years was Bledsoe.

Same with Cam Cameron with the Baltimore Ravens. Why did he suck so bad as a head coach with Dolphins and looks so good as a offensive coordinater with the Ravens? Maybe some coaches are better as assissant coaches than head coaches. I wonder if Ryan would looked good if they didn't have Turner running the ball. What about Pittsburgh in Big Bens rookie year. Would Steelers been in the SuperBowl without the the Bus , Parker and great defense?

  5. True about BR. He holds the ball WAY too long and has his share of fumbles. Thing is though, he makes WAY too many of those, oh, what do you call them? Oh yeah. BIG PLAYS! Tons and tons of BIG PLAYS. It's easy to live with a QB who holds the ball too long and fumbles at times when he makes so many BIG PLAYS.

Please tell me this wasn't a serious comparison of QBs here. Your point on holding the ball too long and fumbling is a good one but it has to be put in perspective relative to the overall play of the QB, no? JP can't hold BR's jock. If the Steelers hadn't taken him, we would have. Of course, Evans would have ended up elsewhere but I think we would have survived.

    Oh what could have been.

    GO BILLS!!!

Your right Losman is not Big Ben. But I Bet you if Big Ben would have been drafted by the Buffalo Bills he most likely be playing in the same league that Losman is know. Everytime Big Ben gets hurt who ever comes in to take his place they look good. Thats because they have there QBs better prepared then we do. Better playcalling. LOOK AT buffalo in the 90s when Jim Kelly got hurt, we bring in Frank Riech and wouldn't loose a beat. Same with 49ers back when Joe Montana was there .Steve Young sucked at Tampa Bay came to S.F. 49ers became a pretty good QB. Same with Jeff Garcia after him.

Look at Eagles McNabb gets hurt and backup comes in looks good. Good gameplain helps your QB. Hell we got some pretty good playmakers here and we don't know how to use them. Look at N.E. last year Tom Brady gets hurt and Matt Cassel comes in and looks good. N.E. sets there QB to succeed.

  6. yea, mark your words, i guess you didnt watch too much of the game last night where JP still sails his throws, still holds the ball too long, still fumbles. Not only does he still fumble, but after doing it the first time and getting his ass saved by a teammate, he fumbled AGAIN on the VERY NEXT PLAY. good bye JP and good riddance, locos are joke-os

What QB lead the NFL in fumbles and was one of the QB leaders in getting sacked last year? Does anybody know? Big Ben is who. A friend of mine is a big Steeler fan and he says that Big Ben holds the ball to long and that is why he gets sacked alot and fumbles. I can't believe that Big Ben is in the NFL. He shouldn't even be a backup in the NFL. Good they have a good defense to cover up there bad QB play.

  7. letting go is hard to do.

    I sympathize with you

Losman is no longer here. And he did suck his last two years here, but when I hear that he can't play in this leaque.I think he can, I saw a young QB who made mistakes and also made some great plays. People say that they took Evans away from him and he can't hit anybody else, Know we have Owens and Evans and Edwards can't hit either one them. I see Losman making mistakes when there is presure on him. But I also See that with Brady and other QB including Mr.Edwards. Look at Brady who has been around 9 years, we put pressure on him and he made mistakes, same with Brees. I'm not saying Losman either one of these guys and I know he may not start in this leaque again, But I would liked to see how he would've done with both Evans and Owens. They could take evans away ,he would have Owens to throw to, I rather see someone trying to make plays down field than settling for a 4 yrd pass on 4th down with time running out. That pass that Farve made could've went either way ,but he took a chance. Edwards would've look for the TE or runningback.

  8. Yeah, the SAME OC took the SAME successful offense with the SAME successful QB, WRs, TEs, OL, RBs and DELIBERATELY decided all this success needed to come to a stop.

Ridiculous. Clueless. Choose the adjective. Regardless, anyone who believes the Bills simply closed down that successful playbook from 2006 just doesn't know what they're talking about and aren't observant of the game. Why am I not surprised?

DCs made it a point NOT to get beat by Evans over the top after the Texans game in 2006. DCs TOOK IT AWAY. Fairchild didn't scrap it. There's a big difference. The few times we did get single coverage on Evans and tried, BOTH JP and TE didn't get the job done. And it continues today with the big difference being Edwards would rather take any positive play vs. any negative play. I'm not saying that's always a good thing, either, BTW.

JP never was nor will ever be capable of consistently being the type of QB that HAS to be patient enough to manage long drives. That's the biggest reason he's not in the league right now. He's a one-trick pony whose one trick happens to be the easiest one for DCs to take away.

He's got one HELLUVA canon for an arm, though.

    Yippee.

    GO BILLS!!!

Losman completed some long passes againts Miami, third to last game in 2006 and also Ten. that was the 2nd to last game in 2006 .They were both after Houston game. You look who we played the last 9 games in 2006, very tough schedule. Go to nfl stats, players and go to 2006 season of Losman. We should've won the Ten. game but Royal couldn't get both feet in for a T.D. We lost by one point that game. He had a nice t.d. againts San Diego back in corner of the end zone with two defenders on Peerless Price.

  9. Revisionist history. There's a wide open Evans against Denver in the 2007 opener that could have won the game had JP been "always successful" throwing the long ball. That's just ONE long-ball attempt. Do I really have to dig up ALL his incomplete long passes?

The game you recall was the Jets in the Meadowlands where JP came off the bench for an ineffective and then injured Edwards and hit Evans long on a pass that was underthrown and should have been interecepted except for the play Evans made to wrestle the ball away. Ironically, that was one of JP's WORST looking bombs.

I've never seen ANY QB, let alone Losman, ALWAYS have success throwing the bomb. On what planet do these QBs exist and where can I get tickets to watch them?

But you're right. It makes more sense to believe that our OC would DELIBERATELY (the attempt against the Broncos notwithstanding) change his successful offense and force his NAMED STARTING QB to have to do something else OTHER than what he's been successful at.

That's FAR easier to believe than DCs seeing that JP/Evans could hurt them quickly in single coverage and making that the focal point of their schemes against our offense. Which is exactly what happened after the Houston game in '06.

    GO BILLS!!!

Do you think maybe Mr.Jauron changed the offense gameplan. We all know that he plays everything the safe way. Like punting on 4th and 1 when your down by two scores with little time left. What safer offense? short passes and checkdown everychance you can ,settle for FG offense. Throwing the ball down field higher chance to turnover. Thats why he went with Edwards because Edwards will throw the ball to the runningback on 4th and 20 with time running out. He has that in his head. Thats what the coach wants. Play it safe offense. Joke offense.
  10. You have never seen Losman play have you? Here is Losman's last start that say him promoted to the UFL: 24/39 for 148 yards (average of a gunslinger 3.8 ypa), 1 td (a 2 yarder), 3 INTs, 3 fumbles (1 lost).

I can say this without a doubt. Losman is a terrible NFL QB. Edwards is better than Losman but this season will prove if he is NFL starting QB. I just find it funny that the first bad game Trent has, the Losman groupies come out of their holes.

Losman sucks, Trent may but still is much better than Losman. Go Locomotives.

Your right he did suck his last two years here. But I would say our entire offense suck the last two years. When we open the offense up in 2006 Losman played better. Know we are happy with checkdown every play. Don't take chance offense, settle for Fg offense. You got T.O. and Lee Evans and we throw to the runningback for 4 yds on 4th down offense. This offense would make any QB look bad. 5.6 td percntage in last 9 games, 2nd in the NFL in 2006.Thats what you get with a open up offense. Dick Jaraun offense dink and dink settle for fg offense 2007 and 2008. Reciever answering questions why he isn't catching any ball offense 2008.

  11. Of course, you think Losman is a good NFL QB.

I think Losman would be able to get the ball to Owens and Evans. Our we any better with Edwards starting? What was our record the last two years. What was our record in 2006. Tougher schedule in 2006. We had one of the easiest schedules last year and still finished at 7-9. Evans had his best year in 2006. In the final 9 games in 2006, Losman ranked 2nd with a 5.6 T.D. percentage. That was after we open it up the offense that year. That was with Peerles Price as our second reciever. We started off 2-6 that year and finish 5-5 and again that was after we open up the offense. The last two years we were happy with short passes, dinking to the runningbacks and te and settling with a FGs. This year we have two very good recievers and we can't evan get it to them. With 4th and 20 we throw a 4 yard pass to runningback.

  12. Look at the team's W-L records with JP & the other guy-the win % is indisputable.

In 2007 The teams that Losman started againts had a win and lost record of 68-44 and 2008 they had a win and lost record of 20-12. Edwards started againts teams with 64 wins and 80 lost in 2007 and in 2008 they had 96 wins and 128 lost. So Losman in 9 starts in last two years had a combine recod of 88 wins and 56 lost. thats more than 9 wins a team. Edwards had 23 starts the last two years and they had a combine win and lost record of 160 wins and 208 lost, that more than 6 wins a team. We were 7-9 in 2006 and 7-9 since. We had easier schedule the last two years. Edwards looked good the first two games this year and I hope he keeps it up all year. Play calling looks better this year than in the past.

  13. Here are the facts that the JP supporters don't want to admit:

He had one of the most respected QB mentors, Sam Wyche, as virtually his individual coach his 1st two seasons here. If he couldn't develop under Wyche, then he has no one to blame but himself.

Not one, but two head coaches benched him-why-because they felt that another QB would lead the team to more wins-and guess what-THEY WERE RIGHT! Look at the team's W-L records with JP & the other guy-the win % is indisputable.

Why did both HCs bench him?-self preservation.

So now, all of a sudden, AVP would have been able to do what Sam Wyche & the others couldn't. Mularkey has ruined Matt Ryan, hasn't he? Blame him for another bust, John Beck while you're at it.

When you can't blame the coaches, you turn to the GM. Well the GM sure made a mistake-by drafting him in the 1st place! Virtually every 1st round QB is expected to be ready to start in his 2nd season. Today, many start as rookies-see Sanchez, Ryan & Flacco who have not been ruined at all but are thriving.

The bottom line is you JP supporters are so blind you can't see anything. JP was a bust, if he wasn't someone in the NFL would have wanted him. Instead he's in a 4 team 6 game season minor league.

Who will you blame when he gets benched in favor of Tim Rattay?

For the record, I was very much in favor of drafting JP in 2004. I even started a string the morning of the draft on why we should draft him in the 1st round. Ice called him a coach killer & at least once, he was spot on. Since I've never relied on stats to judge Bills' players, it wasn't too long into JP's career that I could see he didn't have what it takes to be an NFL QB. The coaches, who saw a lot more of JP than me or you, recognized that they couldn't win with him. The only reason he was the starter in 2006 was because the guy they thought might give him some competition, Craig Nall got hurt & was so bad that he was soon out of the NFL and he recently got cut by Florida in the UFL. Maybe a year or 2 from now, when JP is out of football, you'll wake up & realize he was the coach killer, the coaches didn't damage him.

Fact, J.P. Losman got better each year his first three years. The final nine games in 2006, rank 2nd with 5.6 tds percentage. And thats when they open up the offense that year .That was Turks first year here in Buffalo and then it was all down hill since for him. I don't think Edwards showed any improvement while Turk was here either. Go to Turks Bio for the 5.6 td percentage quote.

  14. Let me know when Trent matches JP's mediocre stats from 2006. So far he has sucked bad enough not to even be better statistically than Losman (who set the bar pretty low himself). Maybe the WRs lack of stats are due to poor quarterbacking. Check Evans' stats from 2006. Looks like a good WR when his QB is not in constant checkdown mode.

And We had a tougher schedule in 2006 than we had the last two years. Last year we had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL .

  15. This one's easy:

    1. The preseason doesn't count for sh--.

    2. He has a winning record as a starter on a team that has a losing record without him. Why do we need to make excuses?

    3. The difference this year is going to be TO, who, if you haven't noticed, has missed the last two games.

Yes he has a winning record. But the teams he beat have a loosing record. He started 9 games in 2007 and the teams he started againts had a combine win and lost record of 64 W and 80 L . And in 2008, he started againts 14 teams that had a combine win and lost record of 96 W and 128 L. He should have winning record as a starter. And games that Edwards didn"t start in 2007 had a combine win and lost record of 64 W and 44 L, that was 7 games. In 2008 the games that Edwards didn't start, the teams had a combine win and lost record of 20 W and 12 L. He didn't finish three games in 2008 and we lost all those games and everyone of those teams had a winning record. Maybe thats why we have a loosing record without him.

  16. That was frustrating to watch, you're in FG range, why not take a shot a the endzone or "practice" some different plays, it is a practice game isn't it?

I don't get it either. Your QB 1s 10 for 10, but you can't take a shot to the endzone. Dick has to take chances. He's not showing to much confendence in his offense. This is preseason, this is the best time to work on these things. Win and lost don't count in preseason. Maybe he doesn't have faith in Edwards arm.

  17. This thread, headed by the original post is a classic example of why some people have labled me & others "JP haters". Guess what, we're not JP haters, we're stupidity haters. I have nothing against JP other than he wasn't good enough to play in the NFL and retarded the Bills progress. However, I have a huge problem with posts like the opening one.

    Here are my points:

32 NFL teams determined that they have better, cheaper, smarter, whatever better QBs on their roster than JP. That's 0 for 32. The worst teams in the league passed on JP because they felt someone else in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string spots gave their team a better chance than JP.

JP signed with a minor league team. Just because he's coached by a former NFL head coach-who was subsequently let go as an offensive coordinator by one of his closest friends and couldn't get a real shot at another NFL HC spot-it doesn't make the level of competition anywhere near the NFL level. It's a 4 team league that's going to be filled by rejects. If JP plays well, it proves nothing. It's like one of you going out and asking to play in your 5 year old's game. If you play well, you better not start dreaming of an NFL career.

Speaking of minor leagues, Gibran Hamdan played so well in NFL Europa that he was the MVP in 2006. That year he completed 63% of his passes and had 12/3 tds /ints. After his MVP season he then got waived by 3 more teams and eventually landed on the Bills. The main reason he's been able to stick with the Bills is because he's best buds with the starting QB and helps him out on the sidelines. If he was as distant with Edwards on the sidelines as JP was last year, he wouldn't have been invited back. Just look at what the Bills did early on in free agency-they didn't ever think of Hamdan as a possible #2, they went out & signed another QB for #2. Point: Minor league stats don't mean a lot when it comes to NFL teams evaluating players.

The more JP Losman played, the worse he got. It's no coincidence that he had his best year in the middle of the one year he was a full time starter. JP got in some decent games against some bad teams & his supporters were all claiming he turned the corner. Once D coordinators got some film on the guy, his career was over. He had one good play in the 2006 season finale and was bad the rest of the game.

That kind of like last year with Edwards starting .Starts off good againts teams with loosing records and suck it up the rest of the year. In 2006, Losman beat the Jets who had a 10-6 record the second half season. And we were 3-3 in the division. The teams he started againts that year[2006] had a combine record of 147-109. He was the 10 rated QB that year. We finished 7-9. Last year with Mr. Edwards starting we finish with 7-9 record and 0 wins in division, and that was with the third easiest schedule in football. He only threw what like 11 tds. You think with Mr Edwards starting and the third easiest shedule , we would be better than 7-9.
