lol at once in a decade. There were 3 high quality prospects that we had no chance of drafting. We got our guy that was in the second tier. RELAX. This team is also not in better shape than the year we traded for Diggs. That is crazy talk.

I really believe just having Diggs outta this locker room will be a big addition, of course his target share will need to go elsewhere, but I think lots of people are overreacting right now because they didn’t make the big move up the board, then they decided to take a WR most here didn’t want.

we’re all gonna love Coleman, win the east and make a run, it’s just gonna look different, change isn’t easy.

Yeah, sorry, I meant anyone who subscribes to the collective idea that any player who is unhappy because they're not winning is a "cancer". Not saying you said that but I've heard it a lot from Bills and Sabres fans over the years.

Ok , I was like whoa that took a turn lol.. I certainly don’t blame Diggs for wanting out if he believed this Coaching staff and or management wasn’t able to do what’s necessary to win. I just wish if that was the case he would say it, or have his brother say it and I’d actually respect it.

The way he just slimed his way out of two teams now being cryptic using Twitter and being a distraction.. I have zero respect for it, garbage.

It's a cut throat business. They cut players all the time. Why get mad at a player for essentially cutting the team?

I’m not mad at him, I wouldn’t wanna play for McDermott either, but he is what he is, a greasy, grimy , quitting lil bi*ch who uses social media and family members to do his dirty work.

Ill be rooting for bad outcomes all year for that POS.

Diggs wanted to win and he saw everyone else was just happy with hanging afc east banners. Most of you are going to love this team no matter what and that's your prerogative but he has no ties here and only has a few years left in his career and he wanted to win at least once and he didn't think he could do it here so best of luck to him. I hope he finds what he's looking for

    He’s a garbage sneaky POS

  5. This roster hasn’t had the amount of blue chip players the other contenders have had the last four years, 2nd most wins in the league over that time, so it’s coaching or the QB and we all know it isn’t coaching carrying this team.

I really hope this “transition” is quick and successful or Allen will have people whom he trusts in his ear telling him to go somewhere that will lean into surrounding him with real talent to win a title.

One poster (currently) that I’m suggesting is doing the same level of research (minus the 1st hand information part). I’m not speaking from what I think but rather what I know. Is there a difference in information between an NfL team and amateur scouts? Of course. Is the gap as wide as people think? Nowhere near

    Ok

I’m not saying that most do that level of work. Charting 3 games (or whatever he does) for 140 players is much closer to the scouts than it is to the guys watching YouTube highlights. Guys like Matt Miller do that level of work. NFL teams aren’t doing significantly more. They are evaluating more people but not significantly more depth. That’s reality whether you want to believe it or not.

It was about TBD posters and their draft evaluations, but even the Matt Miller’s aren’t questioning dozens of former teammates, coaches, front office personnel and random facility employees to gather as much information as possible to ensure as little risk as possible is taken at each selection.

Although I’ll grant someone Like Miller is at least getting some of that information from team sources, the TBD draft guru is not getting the full picture.

Anyway, I’m sure you’re convinced if your stance and I respect your opinion.

Not trying to be “that guy” but that’s exactly what I am “suggesting.” Scouts follow a very similar process (one of my best friends is a Bears scout). They just have the interview portion. 90% of it is the same.

We can just agree to disagree, I will say your 90% number you came up with fits your narrative but in no way is  remotely close to reality.

we just have differing opinions, it happens, have a great remaining draft weekend !!!

Define “be wrong more than right.” I’m not understanding. Is it, “he will not predict the correct first 32” or “more of the players that he will like will fail than succeed?” He has the data on the latter.

Of the scouting equation, I would say 60% tape, 30% athletic profile, 10% interview. The medical is its own bucket. Scouts aren’t the ones evaluating that, doctor’s are. From a scouting standpoint he is doing 90% of what the teams are doing. Gunner is not putting guys on the white board but otherwise it’s a similar process. I think that you’re underselling how similar it is to the team’s process.

If you’re suggesting any poster, not just the one in question are essentially running an NFL equivalent evaluation and scouting process here on TBD, then I have a bridge to sell.

It’s cool that fans find so much enjoyment in closely following some college players in an attempt to replicate what the professionals do for a living, but it’s for fun and I’m sure they themselves would admit it.

I don’t put anymore stock into some dude on CBS sports crafting his top 100 than I do a poster here who spends his spare time evaluating college players, neither of them are playing with a full deck of cards.

    Its good fun though.

I don’t think that anyone thinks that they know more than Beane & co. For one, they have access to much more information (specifically medicals). At the same time, there are people here that know substantially more than (insert random non-draft analyst). @GunnerBill has evaluated and charted like 150 players in this draft. He’s forgotten more about this class than Booger McFarland / Dan Orlovsky / Ryan Clark etc… will ever know. Gunner’s analysis is more in line with guys like McShay/Kiper/Brooks/Jeremiah/Miller/Reid.

I agree, people watching a couple of highlight tapes or listening to non-experts is annoying.

And yet he will still be wrong more often than right, without the medicals and the ability to interview the prospects it’s nothing more than a flawed guessing game.

I appreciate the effort a poster will put into knowing the players on the field, it allows me to follow along draft weekend with a couple personal favourites to hope for without taking the necessary time of doing it myself.

This is a solid pick.  He's fast for a S, has good instincts, and can hit pretty well too.  Good athlete on the back end that should grow into a very good replacement for Poyer sooner rather than later.

I mean, the thing is, I will never worry about any secondary picks we make because the one thing McDermott and his system does is maximize player's talents on the back end.  Elam might be the exception here, but his skill set never fit with the system we run.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up being a solid player somewhere else someday.

Yet all Elam did was make plays when he got his chances, the whole situation is weird

    Not that much.

Is that a yes or no ?

since the response was an eye roll, I’m guessing it’s a yes they can. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but if restructuring of current players is an option then it’s absolutely possible.

  13. I think when Bean said we don’t need a #1 WR to win he meant it, but what he didn’t expand upon was they believe Kincaid will be their #1 receiver with a big bump in target share, Kincaid is a BIG part of the equation.

They went on a run the second half of the season with Diggs running ghost routes or taking himself off the field in critical situations, get ready for a possible DeJean or Newton pick early tonight, I also think Franklin, Mitchell or McConkey could be the play.

I was pissed when I seen it was KC who we traded back with, for about an hour before my buddy asked me if I’d be pissed had it been SF instead, and the answer was no so I’ve moved on. Bean is being smart but he MUST hit on some of these picks but that was always the case before moving back 5 spots.
