Part of being a sports fan is recognizing greatness even when that greatness isn’t on your team. Otherwise one can be perceived as being a sore loser.

Yeah if you look up 4 or 5 posts I clearly recognize his greatness, but if you refuse to add context because it’s doesn’t suit your narrative, one can be deceived as being a right fighter.

You do know that before Patrick Mahomes started, Tony Dungy opined on national TV something like

"the Kansas City Chiefs may win a Superbowl...but it won't be with Andy Reid as their Head Coach"

The narrative about Reid has changed quite a lot during the last 6 seasons of his 25 year HC career.

Sure if you haven’t actually watched football the last 30 years and hadn’t paid attention to Reid’s career then you might fall victim to narrative.

Reid has been an outstanding HC his entire career, and is one of the games greatest offensive minds. It’s ok to point out the VERY lucky situation Mahomes fell into, while also acknowledging he’s the of the most talented QBs of all time.

Both can be true, and both are true.

It’s a two way street … teams don’t necessarily want to move from the Top 10 to 28… or they want more than Beane is prepared to give up

I agree yeah of course, if there’s no takers than so be it.

  4. If they’re ok to move off 60 to move up, they should take the bigger swing and include 28,60 and next years 1st and try to get Rome.

If they truly believe BTJR is a difference maker then ok. This is some big boy decision making on Bean’s plate this offseason, say what you want about Bean but he’s not gonna go down scared and timid.

  5. People who invest time and energy of course want to believe it’s possible to predict or make accurate a conclusions about players or the draft as a whole, and in some ways they can. If one is using the same grading system year after year then they can say this class of players is stronger or weaker compared to previous class of prospects.

At the end of the day, they don’t know any more about where a prospect’s career will end up than my neighbour, and my neighbour’s a postman.

I do respect the work and effort people put into knowing as much as they do about these prospects, it’s great entertainment and fun to have the breakdowns of various players and try to pinpoint who your team may or should want to target.

Imagine how much better he would be if he conditioned himself properly.

why be the best when you could be tenth best, I suppose.

Not sure what to make of his body composition to tell you the truth, part of me thinks he just enjoys eating and being a very good LT for a great QB, then there’s another part of me that thinks maybe he doesn’t have the ability to lose the fat without dropping weight, which would be undesirable for his job.

I wish Dion looked more like Spencer Brown and I wish Spencer Brown played more like Dion.

I don't think you understand the difference between a conspiracy and a conspiracy theory.

If something illegal or sinister or unethical, occurs that's the result of two or more people planning it, that's a conspiracy.  Conspiracies leave clues that remain available after the fact to investigators -- conspirators themselves, people that conspirators may have confided in or confessed to or who may have seen something/heard relevant to the conspiracy, forensic evidence, various paper or electronic records, surveillance film or photos, etc.  Investigators may not be able to gather enough evidence to convict the conspirators in a court of law  or it may take them many years to get enough evidence to do so, but there is always some evidence of the conspiracy very early on in any investigation.    An example of a famous conspiracy in the US: Oklahoma City Bombing

A conspiracy theory is an alleged conspiracy that's lacking with any substantial evidence that an a conspiracy exists.   The supposed "evidence" that supports conspiracy theories is most often denial that a single individual could have carried out the action so there must be others involved.  Another kind of "evidence" believers cite to support some conspiracy theories is pseudo-science or debunked science.  Frequently supporters of conspiracy theories may cite coincidences or omissions or mistakes as "evidence" of a conspiracy by someone.

Conspiracy theories linger for decades because no evidence ever comes to light, no matter how much rehashing of the facts.  There are no death bed confessions from co-conspirators.  No researchers working on other historical events about the same time never find some physical evidence that sheds new light on anything.

I think everyone reading this discussion who operates in good faith understands what’s being discussed without the need for a Wikipedia reference.

Everyone knows what the original poster meant when referencing conspiracy theories, even if the definition only somewhat overlaps the topic at hand in this thread.

The bottom line is people throw around the term conspiracy theory now like it’s going out of style, most often done so to shut down any real conversation, that was the only point I was making, nothing more.

I‘ll politely bow to you good sir and allow you stake your ground on this subject and take home the win.

And for the last time I’m out, I mean it this time lol.

Von will be that guy. I hope he recovers from injury because he was brutal last season. But I find him and his comments and false claims to be obnoxious. Ohhh yeah #1 reason for dislike he’s a women beater. I’m biased with bills love but he’s one guy on the team little rough cheering on

I just need 10 sacks, either way he’s gone after this season, maybe the Bills surprise with a Latu or Chop pick looking to next year with Von not on the roster.

Group think is Rampant everywhere. If you take a middle ground stance on something, 40 percent of the country will be furious at you one way or the other.

Conspiracy theories are generally exaggerated version of things that people should be concerned about.  Unfortunately, some people on the left are willing to call any deviation from media reported status quo a conspiracy theory.  In the same way, some people on the right will call any belief system different from theirs "woke".

If people stopped calling people overused buzzwords to demonize opponents and talked things out more, the world would be a better place.

100% agree, social media has contorted reality for many… most people, I’d say 70% pretty much believe in the same principles and understand the world around them in the same manner.

It’s social media that has everyone believing we’re all so different.

Name three conspiracy theories that have been around for a quarter of a century or more that have been proven true.   I asked you this question before at the beginning of this thread and you never answered, so answer it now or you will prove that you are the one who is " not a serious person or you live in an echo chamber" -- and that you no respect others' view:

This is common knowledge, many so called conspiracy theories have been proven correct, not sure how you don’t know this. I could list plenty but what’s the point ? You’re obviously coming from a place of skepticism and if you were genuinely interested in educating yourself about the topic you would have already done so and certainly wouldn’t be relying on a stranger on a message board to do so.

Like I said, it’s really not controversial or interesting so I’m not going to entertain the back and forth, I respect your views and hope you have a nice weekend.

ive nowhere defended him.  Just pointing out the errors in your posts and questioning your conclusions

i asked a simple question. Spit it out…

Rice was the answer.. he’s the garbage character they won with last year, I already spit it out, but you seem to be in denial about Mr.Rice.

Anyway, I haven’t said anything that a casual NFL doesn’t already know about past KC player/staff character issues.

This isn’t an interesting debate, and for that reason I’m out. Have a great weekend.

lol---now it's "chalked" full of "narcotics"?   he had under 1/2 ounce of weed in the car.

    anyway....who else?

What point are you trying to make ? Just spit it out.. you disagree that KC has had a history of employing sh*tty people ? I think the evidence is readily available.

You want to defend this behaviour for some reason, fine by me, we’ll just agree to disagree.

who were the garbage characters they won with this year (assuming Rice became a garbage character after the Lombardi)?

lol… yeah I’m sure he just had a momentary lapse of judgment in an otherwise law abiding life, because that’s generally how one finds their way to drag racing with cars chalked full of narcotics and endangering innocent lives then fleeing with no regard to the wellbeing of your victims.

Naw, I’m gonna make the safe assumption he had garbage character while winning a title just a few months prior.

You mean how you talk *****, and I respond in kind?

I simply stated widely reported truths about the many reported scum bags KC has employed over the years and agreed with you after you reminded everyone of the Chiefs SB odds.

Many teams have employed these low character players over the years including the Bills, just try to remember you’re on a Buffalo Bills forum before you decide to remind everyone that the Bills have no super bowls, or just be dick, your call.

I’m sure they’ll bury him under the prison, and the Chiefs will tear down the team and relocate to Portland.

Before this happened, the Chiefs were the Superbowl favorites at +600. Now they’re the favorites at +550.

I don’t think anyone believes another POS player will effect their ability to win a championship, if there’s a team who’s shown the ability to win with garbage character, It’s KC.

Most of that currency is nickels and pennies.  Counting the number of picks without regard to the total value is pretty meaningless.  The media hyped the whole “11 picks” thing.  In reality, the 11 picks they have combined are worth less than some other team’s first round pick on its own.

Yeah I agree, I’m just looking at a rookie class of 12 players and thinking that’s crazy, not sure what the record is for most players drafted in the 7 round era but 12 has to be close.
