If Vilma came to the Bills, Mcgahee would have his one big game against us instead of the Jets!
-
Wasn't AP hurt this year? What was wrong?
He broke his collarbone on what appeared to be a "hot-dogging" type dive into the end zone.
-
Howard was a super bowl MVP.
Yeah it was a short time in the spotlight but he was still a force in the most important game of the year.
So was Larry Brown for the Cowboys.....and how did that work out for him?
-
Do you mean Anthony Thomas??
I was thinking more along the lines of Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, David Terell, Drew Henson and Braylon Edwards.
I was waiting for somone to mention Brady, but he wasn't hyped at all coming out of college.
-
I am not that impressed with Hall anyway. I watched Michigan play a few times this year and watched him get beat on several occasions.
Is it just me, or do Michigan players always seem to get over-hyped then never live up to expectations?

I am an advocate for offering Chris Brown a 2 yr deal. Him and A-train running with our new tenacious O-line would be sufficent for a playoff run. Chris Brown (when healthy) is an elusive, productive RB averaging like 4.6 yds per carry. A-train was impressive last season in his 3 starts. If we sign Chris, we can pursue a monstrous hole in CB w/ leon hall in the draft. Anyone heard anything on chris's status????????????
I really don't think Brown is worth our FA $$$....he is an injury waiting to happen.
The Titans lost Travis and have salary cap room and I don't think they have shown any interest whatsoever.
If we are going to gamble on a running back, let it be a second round draft pick whose rookie contract will be much less than what Brown is asking.

My friend just told me that Dallas will look at offers to trade Julius Jones. I think that kid's a really good talent. Do you think he'd be a good fit for the Bills, and how much would you give up for him? He was originally drafted in the 3rd, I believe.
He was drafted in the second round with Buffalo's pick from the JP trade.
I would give up no more than a third round pick at the most(draft day deal)....only if a better option isn't available in round two of the draft

AGAIN, we are NOT taking Okoye. He plays the SAME position as Tripplett and McCargo. It would essentially be a wasted pick unless we have no plans for Triplett. Patrick Willis is the best option on defense.
I think Tripplett is better suited as a "wave" player like he was in Indy.
Not to mention that Okoye is only 19 and weighs in at 302 lbs. You don't think the talent and potential gap between Tripplett and Okoye is great enough to make this pick?
Also, a dominating D-line will always help to minimize the deficiencies of the back 7.

What year was he named to the probowl?
I believe he was a pro bowl alternate in 2005 and was added as an injury replacement that year.

lol...This has to be one of the dumbest things I've read in a while...I wonder what this guy was smoking when he was writing this? Anybody agree to what he is suggesting?
When I read the "article" the first thing that came to my mind was how badly it would be trashed on this board!!

i like Okoye too. but in this little fantasy i have to imagine that if Lynch, Peterson AND Willis are there, then Okoye is gone.
but if he ii is Okoye and those 2 RBs then i say go Okoye too.
Willis is my number two preference behind Okoye as well. You have to be strong in the middle for the cover 2 to be successful.
-
you take Patrick Willis and let those guys keep falling. cause all that means is more RBs for us to choose from in the 2nd or 3rd!!!
Am I the only one still on the Amobi Okoye bandwagon??

The contract would be right in the ballpark of what mcgahee got, maybe a tad more. THe first pick in the draft(usually a qb, so that increases it a bit) will likely get about a 7 year 60 million dollar contract, with about 20 million or so guaranteed. So assuming AP goes third, then he's looking at around 18-20 mil guaranteed.
As for why not trade up for him? Simple, hes not worth it.
Think about what it really should take for a back to go top 10, usually extreme dominance at the college level. While AP was very good in college, one would hesitate to call him dominant. Ricky Williams was dominant, Reggie Bush was dominant, Cadillac was dominant. Peterson was very good but moreso he shows the skill set of a dominant player, that is, he has all the measurables. That said, hes more like a Ronnie Brown-type prospect.
I cant remember a RB coming out of college with the same circumstances as AP who was pretty much a guaranteed top 10 pick.
I believe the final two years of the McGahee contract are bogus(padded numbers to make the super-agent look good!) the contract has around 15 million in guaranteed money. I should have been more specific, I was basing my comments on that figure.

Who wouldn't want him here but we would have to give up alot to draft high. Is it worth it? IMO, no it's not since we have alot of needs to make this team a contender.
Not to mention the ridiculously high contract such a high draft pick would command.....it would probably be two to threee times bigger than the contract the Ravens gave to McGahee plus the draft picks it would cost--no thanks.

I think that the bills are going to rely on multi db drafting they did in last years draft....and that means Ashton Yobuty
I also think after reviewing my film on last years bills that the team is very high on Kieth Ellison.
I agree with both points.
I don't think FA is the way to go on the defensive side of the ball....continue to draft heavily on defense and assemble a unit of young players who fit the system and allow them to develop into a consistent, cohesive unit.
