  1. +1. Both guys are really good, to the point where whoever's more effective on a given day is the guy who should get more work. I think Marshawn's a little better overall, but at this stage of their careers, the gap is miniscule.
  2. If you don't count the two times I cheated on my girlfriend, I've been a great boyfriend. Also, could we get a math tutor in here for Poz? 60+71 = 131. That is not "the vast majority" of 318.
  3. Both of those runs were abject failures by the LBs and safeties. Overpursuit by the LBs allowed Jones to get into the secondary, and terrible play by both safeties allowed Jones to go real long.
  4. Nah, that's the only non-short throw that Trentative is willing to make -- long pass down the sideline, usually so close to being out of bounds that the received goes out right as he catches it.
  5. You realize he was on Green Bay's practice squad, right? The team that's given up the most sacks in the NFL, including five yesterday to awful Detroit?
  6. Talk to me about Trent when he starts averaging over 10 yards per completion. By the way, 10 yards per *attempt* is really good.
  7. It's always nice to get a win. And beating any legit NFL team on the road is sweet. That doesn't mean that this team isn't horrible, though. But we might as well savor this win for the rest of the week, as there won't be many to savor this year.
  8. Reality says hi. Bills' D ranks: 19th in yards/game 20th in points/game 26th in first downs/game 20th (tied) in 3rd down percentage 17th (tied) in 4th down percentage 6th (tied) in most penalties 2nd in most penalty yards 29th in yards per run 29th in rushing yards/game Just because the D isn't *as* bad as the O doesn't mean that the D is any good. It's also quite bad.
  9. This should help reduce the number of penalties. Might also improve cohesion between QB & receivers, in the sense that they're more likely to be on the same page. Overall, the offense will likely continue to stink (bad QB + bad O-line = bad offense, regardless of scheme), but if this is true, it is a positive move.
  10. Anyone know anything about Todd Johnson? At least his signing means the Bills are moving Nic Harris back to LB. So do we think they'll go Palmer, Ellison, Harris, or keep Harris on the bench for Draft or Corto?
  11. Clausen is a d-bag, but so is Jay Cutler, and I'd take Cutler in a heartbeat. Clausen has looked pretty good this year from what I've seen. The more I read about Pike, the more I think I need to watch some of his games.
  12. Trent is either an idiot, or an arrogant prick who thinks that everyone else is a moron. I believe it's the latter. Regardless of which, it's pretty infuriating to listen to this BS. How can anyone possibly think that if everything is going right, horrible losses keep piling up?
  13. Because shockingly, the pass rush from our high motor white DEs has been pretty good. It's the run D that's been the problem.
  14. Five years of dominance followed by one year of being crappy does not equal incompetence. I'm pissed about the special teams, too, but can't they just have a down year? Were the last five years just an extended fluke, and these five games are the real deal? Or did April just forget how to coach this offseason? April and Bob Sanders are the only two members of the coaching staff that I'd really like to be retained.
  15. My guess would be very little. TO's old, on a 1-year deal (which actually is probably a positive at this point), and has done nothing on the field so far. Anyone trading for him is banking on the likelihood of Edwards royally sucking. On the plus side, TO has shown signs that he might keep his mouth shut all year, which would be a selling point to a prospective buyer. Given how bad the QB play has been the past 3 weeks, I think most people are probably surprised that TO hasn't blown up on Edwards yet, either on the sideline or to the press.
  16. It bothers me how people (mostly non-Bills fans at this point) keep bringing up that soul-crushing week 1 loss like it's some kind of accomplishment. Hanging your hat on a monumental choke job is about as big a loser mentality as you can get. Maybe you could get excited about moral victories in year one of a new coach's rebuilding (2008 Ravens/Falcons, 2009 Broncos/Jets say hello), but in the 4th year of a coach's tenure? There's no moral victories at that point. The only bad win is one in which a lot of guys get hurt. There are no good losses.
  17. I missed the first quarter, but I don't recall any draw plays. We did run several screens, with limited success. Eric Wood was illegally downfield on one, but the play went for no gain, so the penalty was declined. At least one or two more were stymied (3 yards or less). I remember one on a 3rd and 6 that went for 7 yards and a first down.
  18. Luck certainly plays a major role, but over time, trends emerge.
  19. "Times out" is probably grammatically correct, although it sounds really weird. Reminds me of this Onion article from a while back: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/31525
  20. If other teams did the same to us, Edwards would actually look half decent and be able to complete some passes to WRs.
  21. Excellent stuff. Especially because "Up+B" was such a dominant play for the K-Gun Bills.
