Does this have anything to do with the murders of Biggie and Tupac?

I'm guessing he's talking about two different bands. I am old. Maybe two different video games?

Dick Jauron - Coach of the Week!
Steely Dan replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This won't get the billboards overtaken, but the past eight days showed this team still plays for Jauron. They play for him, so what? If they can't win consistently due to poor coaching from the bottom up what good is it. I think he may have some sort of eye problem. JMO -
Fixed! I-rish he wouldn't post either! BA DUM BUM! Ptsch!

By "it" do you mean Windows 7 or the downloading mechanisms? The article is about the downloading mechanisms.

What would you say? I admit I've never used Vista and that's because of all the complaints I've heard about it. My computer came with 2000 and I have XP now. Those two didn't have nearly as many problems as Vista is reported to have had.
-
Was six months enough time for Vista? By ready I mean having most of the bugs worked out. Nothing is or ever will be perfect but getting it a lot more refined before release wouldn't hurt. What is your definition of ready?
-
I can understand the need to get it to market quickly but releasing these things so early just makes more fodder for the Mac commercials. At least have it 90% ready. JMO BTW, I said they should have it 90% ready not that it was only 10% ready now. You're jumping to conclusions about something I never said. You wanted to interpret it that way and your interpretation was wrong. Your statement should have been "that's hardly 10%" instead of 90%.

I know every company releases things early and that's my point. Why can't they give it a little more time. It reminds me of a Dilbert I saw. His company is putting out a product he knows isn't ready to be released and he's talking to a salesman. Dilbert tells him the new system will erase all of the data from a computer the instant it's installed. The salesman writes down, "Increases memory space." Vista was available as a free beta test too and yet it still sucked and a lot of people have complained about it. In fact it seems, to me, that Vista is the worst OS Microsoft has ever put out. Finally, I have no idea why people here are so compelled to defend MS. They effed up and somehow I'm to blame for pointing that out. If people want to blame the distribution company instead go ahead. I still think MS should have made sure that their distribution method worked.

Did you read the link and whole purpose of this thread? It was about the inability of people to get their downloads to work. I was bashing Microsoft's ability to put out a workable download, not windows 7. So how is that bashing windows 7? Others jumped in to defend Windows 7 and took it in a different direction than was intended by me. My argument about Microsoft's inability to put out finished products is based on a long line of Microsoft OS releases. Can you tell me one OS that hasn't had a few problems that needed to be fixed to avoid a security problem? It seemed with XP I kept getting download notices saying something like; "this download will help close a security problem that was detected...." and I bought the OS after it had been on the market for a year. For all of those defending Windows 7 how do you know it is ready? There hasn't been a lot of time to test it. Given Microsoft's track record I find it interesting that so many people are getting bunched panties about this.
-
Sorry, I guess I didn't fully consider all of Microsoft's history before making such an ignorant statement.

Do you or someone you know work for Microsoft? You seem a bit touchy on that subject. Seven things to know about 7 http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/10/24/windows7.tips/index.html

http://brainstormtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.co...t-upgrade-hell/ The $29 electronic version of Windows 7 Home Edition sold for Microsoft (MSFT) through Digital River (DRIV) doesn't seem to install properly on some 32-bit Vista machines. Apparently the download files weren't properly packaged and when some users tried to "unload the box" they got an error that read: "We are unable to create or save new files in the folder in which this application was downloaded" Here's a question. Why don't they test these things before they put them out? I'm running XP and I didn't buy that until the vast majority of the bugs had been worked out. Here's another question. Why are so many people hot to get the new operating system as soon as it comes out? With all of the problems each new operating system goes through why get it right away? Is there somebody who has that compulsion who can explain to me the reason for wanting it right away? I'm guessing that most people who bought Vista would have preferred to stay with XP in hindsight. Nobody knows right now if seven is better or worse than Vista, why not wait til the jury comes in? Unless seven gets rave reviews I'm gonna stick with XP for awhile.

Some thoughts, in no particular order; (JMO) * This win was deserved and not just lucky. The offense actually capitalized on interceptions this week. * Jarius Byrd looks like a tremendous pick * Fitzpatrick got the job done but I believe that (A healthy) Edwards would have done just as well if not better. I did like Fitzy's ability to see the receivers open on the long ball. It seems that backup QB's who start do pretty well the first week they start, in most situations. I think it's because teams don't have a lot of film on that player. Is that what happened to Fitzy today? * The Jests game was a horrendous outcome. They made a ton of mistakes and yet still took the Bills into OT. I'm hoping this game is the way they play the rest of the year. They didn't dominate but they didn't have any offensive turnovers and the defensive turnovers were more valuable to the team this week it seems. The defense gave up 425 yards but made the plays when they needed to. * Chris Ellis hasn't played in one game this year. God I hate that pick. (I'm betting he doesn't make the team next year) Since being drafted in the third round 2008 he's only played in seven regular season games and gotten 3 tackles. * What is Roscoe's future on this team? The trade deadline has passed He's a great PR but they aren't even activating him to do that. I thought last week's inactive status was to give him a week to think about his fumbles. This weeks inactivity makes me wonder what's going on and what's going to happen. * When will Hardy be reactivated? Who will be cut to make room for him? I'm guessing Todd Johnson. * I'll tell you what I think about this teams ability to improve enough for the rest of the season after the Houston game. * It looks like the bye week, coming after next week, is a good place to have it. * I really want to know who the next HC will be. Will Ralph realize that if he wants to hoist a SB trophy he'll need to get a coach with a great track record? * There is something I don't understand about the draft. (All of these are JMO) 1 11 (11) Maybin, Aaron (DE) - I believe that he will eventually catch on and be a stud. (In my best Yoda) Patience you must have, patience. 1 28 (28) Wood, Eric C (From Panthers through Eagles) - I think this was a super solid pick. (Thanks JP) 2 10 (42) Byrd, Jairus (CB) - I love this kid. It's barely the beginning of his career but I see a better future rather than a worse one. 2 19 (51) Levitre, Andy OL (From Cowboys) - He's no Eric Wood and he definitely needs to improve. I'm not saying he's a bust, I'm saying I believe he can and will get better, but he's under starting caliber at his position right now. 4 21 (121) Nelson, Shawn TE (From Eagles) - I like this pick too. This entire season he's had six catches for sixty yards and a TD. However, I think some of his contribution doesn't show up on the stat sheet. His presence won't allow full attention on any one guy. The Bills are bringing him along slowly and that's probably good for him. Given his draft position he seems like he will end up being a semi-steal. (Thanks JP) 5 11 (147) Harris, Nic S - He's a big time project and I don't know if he's a bust or a boom yet. I guess we'll have to wait til next year to make a better judgment. 6 10 (183) Harris, Cary CB - Practice Squad 7 11 (220) Lankster, Ellis DB - Looks like a great pick, especially when his draft position is considered. So out of eight picks it seems that two (Wood and Byrd) are immediate impact players. It also seems that three players (Lankster, Levitre and Nelson) are going to be solid contributors next year and for a few years after that. Two picks (Maybin and Nic Harris) are on hold right now. Too early to tell about either of them. Maybin having only four tackles to show for his play so far this year is a little bothersome but I'll wait until the end of next year to reserve full judgment on him and NH. Cary Harris made the PS and so every draft pick has made the team. Some are immediate upgrades and others will be. So after taking all of that into account why is there such a large fire Brandon contingent? It looks like they finally have a good GM in place and I'm willing to give him another year before they go out and hire someone else for that job.

Sharper has started all six games this year. Byrd has only started 5. I think Byrd was an unknown quantity before this game. The Panthers may have overlooked his int.'s last week. I'd be willing to bet that Carolina didn't try to gameplan around him at all. I don't think any teams will overlook him anymore. If he can continue like this after teams start trying to take him out of the game he'll be a star. There is something I don't understand about the draft. (All of these are JMO) 1 11 (11) Maybin, Aaron (DE) - I believe that he will eventually catch on and be a stud. The applicants are whittled down to a final six, who are then one after the other in a single day by Jaime. I've gone four times in the same day, but six. I wonder what he gets paid. Can't beat the perks though.

Jackass!! One of my favorite lines from the office; (approx.) "My Grandfather killed twenty people in WWII and then he was captured and spent the rest of the war in an allied prison camp." I know, he was beaten up by a five year old? Puhleaasseee! -
