  1. Tim, Any chance or talks that the Bills might consider switching to a 3-4 defensive alignment when they change coaching staffs? Maybin would fit that defense quite well but I'm not sure they have the space eating NT or big MLB necessary (although that could change quickly with all the free agent NTs, and if they drafted a guy like Rolando McClain). Could a guy like Stroud or Kyle Williams fit into that defense as a 3-4 DE? Seems like a way to aid the run defense if they added some size on that side of the ball. Thanks for doing this and for the input.
  2. Great now the Pats will make that signing. If I were the Bills I would be more than willing to offer him Yeremiah Bell type money (4 yrs, 20 mil). That's not breaking the bank for a guy who seems to me a very good safety, unless there is something I'm missing here.
  3. Exactly, Bryan Scott's decent but he's not someone that would prevent me from signing a playmaker who could really be a difference maker on defense.
  4. He's a free agent and I really don't understand why there has been no news on him, not that I can find at least. Great size (6'1, 225 lbs.), only 26, known as a big hitter with ball skills, I just don't get it. He has had injury problems in the past (missed his entire rookie season and missed 4 games last year), but played 3 straight 16 game seasons in between and was healthy enough to record 4 ints in the last 6 games of last season. He is a strong safety and sounds to me like a perfect complement to Whitner, who could move over to free (even though our safeties are apparently interchangeable in our D). What does everyone think? Am I missing something?
  5. Where's that guy who was talking him up so much last week? Didn't he realize Porter had durability concerns?
  6. I like Nelson, but if he is just going to be a slot receiver in the NFL, we simply can't draft him. We already have Roscoe and Reed for the slot, we need a legitimate outside #2 receiver.
  7. If these were actually our first 2 picks, I would be extremely excited on draft day...DRC has unreal potential, and we definitely need a big corner on this team. He would be the guy with the most superstar potential that might be available at our pick, I just hope he lasts. I also have heard on the website Draftdaddy.com from an "inside source" at the combine that this is our guy. Who knows if that is legit, but this did sound like a somewhat reputable source. Either way, DRC would be a much better pick than any receivers still on the board, and I wouldn't consider that a reach at all at 11. Then if Kelly slips to our spot in the 2nd round because of a few slow 40 times, I think the Bills would be crazy to pass him up. Look at Anquan Boldin, a similar guy with size who slipped based on his 40. There's other guys to counter that argument, but Kelly looks very good on film.
  8. I like Mayo. The Bills are probably thinking about the possibility of Crowell leaving after the year and Mayo taking his place. Mayo would probably be an ideal WLB in our scheme with Kawika moving to SLB. He would be solid value if he lasted till our 2nd round pick, but we have other needs (WR, CB, TE) that I would much rather have us fill first. I guess a WR in the first, Mayo in the 2nd, CB third, TE/C in the 4th, TE/C/S in the fifth could fill a lot of needs.
  9. Pretty decent mock for the Bills, addresses most of our needs. However, I'd like to get a receiver well before the 7th round. I don't like the Kareem Brown pick, but only because we already have a lot of D-Linemen as is. And just because the Bills had a bad experience with Willis doesn't mean everyone from "the U" is an automatic team cancer. Roscoe Parrish has been nothing but a team player since we drafted him. A guy I would like in this year's draft is Jon Beason, who fits our defense well and is known as a team player and leader.
  10. If we only obtain one rb in the draft this year, and it's walker, i'll eat my own feces.
  11. What is this obsession with avoiding skill positions? We NEED a RB...it's not difficult to understand. We have made moves through trade (D. Walker), free agency (L. Walker, Dockery, Whittle), and re-signings (Kelsay) to improve both our offensive and defensive lines. We did this so we wouldn't have to draft at those positions. I realize that the lines are a huge part of the game, but lord, how many do we need? There are other positions beyond the 2 lines. At this point, the lines are a strong suit on paper and that's good enough for me. If we took an offensive or defensive lineman in any of the first 3 rounds, it would be a blatent ignoring of our real needs (RB, LB, WR, CB). Plus, Branch doesn't at all fit our defense. Our D favors smaller, quicker, penetrating D-lineman while Branch is a space-eater. He also is not known as a guy with a non-stop motor, which Marv and co. is obsessed with, so there is zero chance the Bills end up with Branch.
  12. I agree. Our WRs after evans are a huge weakness, maybe our biggest need other than rb. Meachem would be a great pick, taking pressure off evans, helping in the red zone, and giving losman another target.
  13. I said Meachem quite a while ago. I think that is the possible surprise pick for us, and he's gonna be a star to whoever he goes to. I doubt he even lasts till the 12th pick.
  14. I'm fine with you having a differing opinion, I just hope you know you're gonna get ripped apart for it, like now when I say the Eagles drastically overpaid for Kevin Curtis. I wish you guys still had "alligator arms" Todd Pinkston aka the softest guy ever to step out onto a football field so I could rip on him too.
  15. I love how you think that Reno Mahe would start for any team ever, that undersized, unathletic BYU piece of trash. Oh and Moats was just an absolute steal in the 3rd round, huh. Correll Buckhalter I could throw into the mix, but I won't, because I'm just gonna assume he has a serious knee injury before the season starts like always.
  16. I hope all you eagle pieces of sh*t are looking at our board...Your team sucks anyways...McNabb is soft and injury prone, so is Brian Westbrook, and your team isn't gonna win any Super Bowls this year either. I'm sure your posters are saying the same ridiculous comments about Spikes, who is past his prime and a shell of his former self. Sure you can call a bunch of Bills fans idiots for not knowing as much about Darwin Walker as you do, considering you watch him every game. Nice draft last year, good luck with Brodrick Bunkley, that bum, maybe he should go back to his day job of stealing video games. Or the idiot you took in round 2, Winston Justice aka the brilliant young man who threatened some kid with a fake gun. Oh ya, and he wasn't active for a game last year either. I'm glad the Bills are making trades with your idiot GM. He's really shown in the past that he knows how to evaluate linebacker talent. Your fans suck and so does your team. Good luck with Holcomb in there once McNabb goes down in Week 5 or so.
  17. I really like that strategy with the turner trade and selecting Durant. He definitely seems like a guy the Bills would like, but we also need someone to man the strong side, and he might not have the size for that position. But still, this strategy could be a great way of filling our two biggest needs without losing a bunch of picks for Turner (if the Chargers were willing to accept).
  18. I really think our biggest need is at running back. While we definitely do need another DT for our rotation, we already have 3 guys (Tripplett, McCargo, Williams) who should be solid contributors this year. We don't know for sure about McCargo, but the team obviously likes him if they were willing to trade up into the first round to get him. At LB, as was already mentioned, we have 3 (hopefully) decent starters in Spikes at SLB, Crowellat MLB, and Ellison at WLB. While this group is far from great, all of these guys can at least hold down the fort. Crowell looks like a budding star for our D and Ellison looked very good for a rookie last year. Spikes is a big question mark, but even if he can't regain his old form, he looked like he was playing better at the end of last season. At CB, we have 4 bodies that shouldn't kill us (McGee, K. Thomas, Greer, and Youboty). The coaching staff really seems to like Youboty even though he hardly played last year. We definitely could use a solid, bigger cornerback, but the tampa-2 doesn't really require a shutdown guy. At RB, we have A-train, who looked pretty good when he filled in for McGahee last year, but he did it against three very bad run defenses (GB, Ind, Hou). He's 29, which is kind of old for a running back, and he's not exactly a big time playmaker. After him, we have no one who can carry the load, and don't try and tell me that Fred Jackson is the answer. Shaud is strictly a 3rd down back. The Bills need a RB who can really be a big part of our offense this year, or we're in big trouble. While the other positions are need areas, RB should really be the position the team is looking to upgrade the most in the draft (aka Lynch, or Peterson if he somehow miraculously falls to us).
  19. Oh ya, I definitely agree with that pick...LB really isn't a huge need as long as the Bills think Crowell can handle the move to MLB. It should probably be our 4th biggest need going into the draft, behind RB, CB, and DT. Considering we have 4 first day picks, it would be wise to bring somebody like Black in to create some competition with Ellison this year and maybe take over for Spikes in the future.
  20. Being a Micigan fan, I obviously can't stand Ginn. But there's no denying he's gonna be a beast in the NFL. He's just completely on another level, runs by guys like they're not moving. Still, I want us to get a big WR in the draft, but wouldn't be completely shocked if Marv pulls another guy that we weren't expecting in the first round. Doubt he lasts to #12 to begin with though.
  21. Least- Billy Joe Hobert/Lonnie Johnson (just cant decide) Most- Thurman
