  1. Whitner has always been thought of highly around the league, I'm not sure how this is news to Bills fans.

  4. How does that apply to this board? You have absolutely no freedom of speech here.
  5. DL: Dareus - Williams - Carrington LB: Merriman - Sheppard - Posluszny - Moats CB: McKelvin and McGee Safety: Byrd - Whitner (I think they re-sign him once he realizes he isn't going to get $8+ million on the open market)
  6. Agreed, the defensive line in a 3-4 is three freaking players. He's acting as if one guy isn't a major part of a 34 line.
  7. NFLdraftscout has him listed as 6-4 394 lbs
  8. Apparently he weighs around 400 pounds.
  9. Who do we even have behind Freddy/CJ? If the guy can be a good short yardage back/special teamer this is a very good pick.
  10. Why do you keep bringing up Belichick? He has more of a hard on for DBs than Dick Jauron.
  11. Like Akeem Ayers, right?
  12. I don't think OLB is too big of a concern for the Bills. I get the sense that they really like Merriman and Moats.
  13. Huh? The Bills have devoted 1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks to the defensive line in the last two years. That sounds like building from the ground up to me. Not to mention they went ILB in the third. You really seem to be reaching here, as this is the first DB Nix has taken in his time here. We should definitely draft more like the Patriots though, right? Oh wait, they have spent a 1st or 2nd round pick on a DB every year since 2007. Way to be overly dramatic and nonsensical.
  14. Nickel corners play more than 50% of their teams snaps. Perhaps you don't know what nickel corner means.
  15. Yes, the vast majority of 4th or 5th round rookie CBs are ready to start in the NFL. It's a wonder teams even select DBs in the 1st or 2nd round.
  16. Yes, lets plug in a 4th or 5th rounder and have him get burned for 16 games. Great logic.
  17. Not to mention NE has drafted a 1st or 2nd round DB every year since 2007.
  18. What are you talking about? A 4th or 5th rounder stepping in and playing just as much? You are really stretching it. The Bills drafted the best DL in the draft at #3, but you want them to commit a major reach and draft an ILB? Name me one that has gone in the 2nd round so far. I think you would hate being a Pats fan, as they have spent a 1st or 2nd round pick on a DB every year since 2007, despite Mike Wright leading their team with 5.5 sacks.
  19. Well, there are many TEs available in FA, and I doubt they wanted another OLB. Moats will be a solid to very good player, not to mention they just signed Merriman. It's also kind of funny that you say its an easy position to fill because they are always available in the draft, but pan the pick when they do just that.
  20. What are you talking about? The vast majority of starting NFL corners are 1st round draft picks.
  21. The vast majority of starting CBs in the NFL are 1st or 2nd round picks. Some people might not like it, but you need to spend early picks on the position.
  22. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen both confirm that Da'Quan Bowers' slide out of round one was due to the fact that last year's NCAA sacks leader will likely need more knee surgery. "He's still got looseness in his MCL, and his PCL," reported Schefter. "Teams think he'll need (more) surgery." On Thursday, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that Bowers has a "bone-on-bone" condition in his already surgically repaired knee, which sounds to us like microfracture is a definite possibility in the near future. Don't be surprised if Bowers continues to plummet today. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/203591/report-de-bowers-likely-needs-more-surgery
