  1. You sure? The ESPN.com article was updated at 7 pm.
  2. He said it earlier. Clayton has since changed it. PFT is now reporting no 5th to the bears. I guess no one really knows the compensation yet http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/
  3. Actually, i don't think anyone really knows. PFT has updated the story 3-4 times... each with different compensation.
  4. How is liability done in Florida? Do they break it up by %?
  5. Per Clayton the Bears gave two 1sts and Orton for Cutler and a 3rd.
  6. Its 2 firsts and Orton. The Bears get Cutler and a 3rd.
  7. There is a reason why those QBs haven't developed.
  8. Agreed. They need to get him a WR now, though. I also don't think their O-line is good enough. Of course, if i ran a team i would probably go QB after there is a good core to surround him with.
  9. He will bomb in Chicago unless they give him enough talent.
  10. He doesn't prove the point, he reinforces it. Everything about the Cutler situation is eerily similar to Jeff George.
  11. Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that the Chicago Bears have sent two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and quarterback Kyle Orton to the Broncos for quarterback Jay Cutler and a fifth-round draft pick. The Bears held the 18th pick in the first round of the draft. Per NFLPA records, Orton is signed through 2009, at a base salary of $995,000. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ Broncos made out like bandits.
  12. 1. Mel Kiper is another person who compares the two. 2. He watches every single pass play in the entire NFL to create his metrics, and it is NO coincidence that Cutler has been at the top 3 years running. 3. His production numbers aren't gaudy. They are Jon Kitna-like.
  13. 1. Jake Plummer: http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_11586720 and the denver post http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_11945847 2. bad decision % is summed up well right here http://forums.signonsandiego.com/showthread.php?t=50525 3. I never said Cutler sucks, and a lot of the interest that is being shown is because of his great physical skills, and he has a better shot than a 1st rounder to develop into a very good QB. The point I'm trying to make is that he isn't a great QB. He is slightly above average. Seriously, show me one stat that points to him being well above average.
  14. As Mike Florio said... if you test positive for drugs at the combine you are either: A.) an idiot B.) have a real drug problem neither are good. He has had off field problems, is considered immature, and is overweight. Now you add this... he might drop pretty far.
  15. You are joking right? There are a lot of people around the league that think Cutler is Jeff George 2.0. Cutler is an average QB who has the highest bad decision % of an QB in the NFL, throws the ball a ridiculous amount of times, and his YPA isn't even is good as Matt Ryan. I've talked to quite a few people that believe Cutler makes too many bad decisions and is far too immature to develop into a franchise QB. In fact, almost all the of people I've talked to about this have said Cutler's production level is not in line with the talent that surrounds him. Matt Schaub has a YPA of 8 Matt Ryan has a YPA of 8 Aaron Rodgers has a YPA of 7.5 Cutler has a YPA of 7.35 The only player i would consider taking off the list is Joe Flacco, but as it stands now most of those QBs have been better than Cutler has. The only reason people here are in love with Cutler is because he had 4500+ yards, but that's not even impressive. He threw the ball almost 40 times a game, which is good for 9th in the HISTORY of the NFL. Cutler has a great arm, but he forces the ball where he shouldn't and the talent around him far exceeds the efficiency he has played at. ESPN sums it up pretty well. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcwest/0-3-189...-in-Denver.html Per KC Joyner, his bad decision percentage has been over 5.0% the last three years. That is by far the worst in the NFL. Brady has had a .7% bad decision metric before.
  16. If he holds out again, no team will give him a huge deal.
  17. Cutler hasn't done much either. I would take these young QBs over Cutler: Aaron Rodgers Matt Ryan Joe Flacco Matt Cassel Matt Schaub They are all considerably better than Cutler is now. I have no faith that Cutler could come into Buffalo and play well, as our offensive talent is nowhere near Denver's, and he would not get to throw the ball 40 times a game. If you offered me TE for Cutler, i would probably take it, but i would NOT give up anything additional for him.
  18. His numbers are very Jeff George-like, and he's a similar player as well. He will throw for 4000+ yards but he will take a ridiculous amount of attempts to do it, and he will make many boneheaded plays. He had an 86 QB rating last year, and he will be leaving behind one the best offensive lines, WR corps, pass catching TE, and running games in the NFL. He needs great protection and receivers to be a good QB in this league, and i don't know what team he could go to that has that.
  19. He's an early 2nd round pick.
  20. not to mention he had the 9th most pass attempts EVER last year.
  21. Why would Denver want Peters?
