http://www.slickdeals.net/#p6703 So, is this worth buying...? CW

There's a lot of idiots on here Lots of people post (not in this thread yet...) that DB only has good numbers because he's played so long. Apparantly good QBs put up his numebrs in only 6 seasons. CW
-
Don't even bother. It's the same old case of "We win despite Drew, and we lose because of Drew." Same story, different channel. CW
-
And sometimes you realize that having the best QB in the league does not guarantee you a championship, or even a Superbowl appearance. CW
-
That long pass to Price in the 1st quarter meant neither either. CW
-
I don't recall that, but getting pissed at a player about something hardly implies the player quit on the team. CW
-
The thing is, most people wouldn't consider a 9-7 season to be crappy. CW
-
Well when the QB throws for 350 yards and 3 TDs, and the team still loses, people say, "See, he sucks because he lost. Who cares how many yards he threw for?" Can't have it both ways. CW
-
If he had REALLY quit on the team, do you think everyone would've played so hard last season? You don't think that Moulds would've said something to the media? That's the reason why I don't think he quit. I don't care if 100 people on TSW think he quit, if I don't see any evidence from the lockerroom, coaches, etc, then I'm not buying it. Again, there's no way to know one way or the other, but I don't see anything tangible other than the fact we only went 6-10. (I will agree that the entire team ran for the busses in the last game against the Patriots, but again that's the entire team, not one player quitting). CW
-
You did notice that he's beaten four teams with winning records this year, right...? CW
-
At least you didn't bet your house, like e-dog suggested CW

Cool to know. From a practical standpoint, it's not much different from Minnesota... I get to work at around 6am, and lots of times I don't get out until 5pm. The sun's down when I get to work, and down when I return home. Who cares that there was 10 hours of daylight, if I don't get to see any of it? Also, Juneau has a store that sells the best fudge I've ever had. We order from them every year now to share with friends/family at the holidays. Everyone just gobbles the stuff up http://www.alaskanfudgecompany.com/Alaskan...y-Whats-New.htm CW

Aside from his comments when he was cut, I don't remember him ever being a bad team player. I seem to recall he took blame for some games, pointed his fingers at others from time to time when he felt it was their fault. Flutie always said "I did this" for good things and "we/they did this" for the bad things, but I don't recall Bledsoe doing that. As for his parting comments, I don't blame him at all for them. He was told by the coaching staff that he would be a backup if he stayed. Not, "You'll compete with JPL for the starting job," but "JPL is starter, you're backup." Why would he accept that, when obviously (look at Dallas) he still has starting ability. If you were told to take a demotion when you clearly felt you could still do your current job, would you take it laying down? I know I wouldn't. CW

I don't get why people make fun of AD for living in Alaska. Probably because they've never visited. That state is, without question, one of the most beautiful places on earth. On top of that, the government PAYS you to live there, how sweet is that? If it weren't for that near-24 hour darkness half the year... CW
-
I disagree. However, I don't think there's any way to tell (one way or the other) whether he quit or not. CW

Extra costs from having to stay in the hospital (bills, lost wages, medication, etc) at the very least. CW
-
Sad but true. I'd probably confront them about it, see if you can reach a mutually agreeable solution without a lawyer. If they blow you off, then talk to someone. CW

That's just it though, I don't understand WHY they have an axe to grind. While it's true we didn't get to the playoffs, and while it's true he sucked in '03, he had a great season in '02 (going from 3-13 to 8-8 is a great season any way you slice it), and he had a good season last year except for a few games (specifically NE, Bal, and Pitt). If he was the sole reason for those losses, ok, but those games were pretty much team meltdowns, especially Pitt. Even so, we went 9-7 last year and missed the playoffs by a very slim margin. Nobody's saying Bledsoe is a top-3 QB in the league. But he's definately in the "above average" category. Maybe that's why people are pissed -- we were so close for two out three seasons (missing the playoffs by one game in '02 and '04) that they're mad we couldn't get over the hump. In addition, people around here seem to like to hurl venom at ANY of our players who leave, so..... CW

Yeah, but I can't afford the property taxes. CW

*sigh* Thanks for rubbing that in. Last time I listen to e-dog and his "locks." CW

How many QBs look great on the road, against a fierce divisional foe, in a primetime game? The point is, everyone here was crucifying him when he was here and continued when he left: People said he couldn't play at all. The Cowboys are in 1st place, one game away from home-field advantage in the playoffs. People said he couldn't win on the road. He beat the Chargers and the Eagles. People said he can't win a prime-time game. He beat the Eagles. People said he couldn't win without a probowl OL, RB, TE, and WRs. He's winning with much less than that right now. People said he'd fade after the first half of the season. The Cowboys are still winning (with a backup RB, and WRs like Glenn, Price, and Johnson who people said were washed up). People said he'd be sacked every other play. He's only been sacked 22 times, or 2.4/game. Guess how many sacks JPL and KH have combined? 22. People said he couldn't beat a winning team. He's beaten the Chargers (5-4), Eagles twice (they were 3-1 the first meeting, 4-4 yesterday), and Giants (6-3). That's 4 of the 6 wins. Now what are people saying? That he didn't win the game against Philly by himself. He doesn't have to, he just has to win games! And even worse, people are hedging their bets and saying, "Well, Bledsoe can't win the Superbowl." Well you know what? Neither has Manning! You're probably right, he probably WON'T win the Superbowl with Dallas (although I think the Cowboys have a decent chance of a least going to the Superbowl; I wouldn't be surprised to see a Dallas/Seattle NFC Championship game). Don't tell me that Dallas fans would think it's a disappointment if they "only" make it to the Champiionship game or "only" make it to the Superbowl. That's just downright silly! CW

Swinging gate style not cutting it anymore?
Fezmid replied to SACTOBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be fair, the talk back then was that TD tried to move out of the #4 spot, but couldn't find anyone to deal with. And contrary to what some people may say here, you don't trade the #4 for the #30 and a 7th round pick; that just makes the GM look stupid. CW -
Well it's hard to talk actual football when you IGNORE THE ACTUAL FOOTBALL POINTS IN A POST! Pretty sure Buffalo won 9 of their last 12 games last year. That doesn't sound like a late-season slide to me. Oh wait, you're going to point to one game against Pittsburgh as "proof," aren't you? I'm sure you're one of the people who has said in the past that if DB doesn't win the Superbowl in Dallas, that shows he sucks. See? But you didn't comment on that, did you? CW
-
I called your post about inevitably being able to tell your Cowboys friends that DB sucks "idiotic", and that's provoking you? Talk about thin skinned (not to mention juvenile and, yes, idiotic). CW
