Which post-Kelly starting QB would you rather have?

You're just afraid because you don't want to pay me $50 when he's inducted. But I'll let you off if you pay me $25 now. Otherwise, no deal. -

And yet he led the team to 9-7 and 8-8 seasons... The only winning record the team has had since last making the playoffs. But yeah, he was terrible. -
Thomas is actually a good back - he's their #1 HB, but has been hurt most of the season. I believe he was a rookie last year. That said, over half of his yards were in garbage time when the defense either didn't want or couldn't tackle anymore.

Did you see the season premier of Big Bang Theory last week? Woah....

She's in a couple of episodes of Firefly. Great show, and her episodes are awesome.

EA has always been terrible about charging for every little piece of DLC. It sucks. Compare that to Bethesda (horse armor not withstanding), who releases entirely new campaigns for Fallout 3 for less than $10. Night and day content difference. All you can do is vote with your wallet I guess.

I wanted others to see it - but didn't want you to get pissed for just spending cash for it.

I'm thinking that boxing up the PC and shipping it back actually might really be the best solution... You're confusing DISK SPACE with MEMORY. And if you don't have a 64-bit OS, then you won't be able to use all 4GB of RAM that is installed. -

Most expensive thing on the menu? Pfft. I asked you to buy a simple NAT box, not a full fledged firewall. If you want expensive, look at this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=c...&sa=title#p -

No, I just think you're a cheapskate for not buying the proper hardware solution. -

You should never use two software firewall solutions at the same time. -

Why didn't that guy in the #81 jersey get kicked out too? He was just as much at fault as the girl was, IMHO. -

Well, then your computer is on the internet and exposed. And I don't care if it's a PC, Mac, UNIX, or Linux, that's not a good thing from a security point of view. There's a reason that companies have their computers behind hardware firewalls. -

So are you plugged directly into your cable modem....? If so, that's bad. Go buy this: http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-Cisco-WRT54G...9051&sr=8-2 Or this if you want hardwired gigabit ethernet: http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DGL-4300-Wire...8650&sr=8-1 You connect your cable modem to this, then connect your PC to it (or connect wirelessly - be sure to setup WPA2!). This box will give you an unroutable IP address, and will also allow you to connect multiple computers to the internet. -

I used Zone Alarm years ago and hated it -- it messed with the TCP/IP stack and was stopping legitimate traffic. Piece of crap. I'm really not a fan of software firewalls to be honest. Personally, I think a regular cable router with NAT is fine. If your IP address starts with 172.30 or 192.168, then you should be fine -- nobody can connect to your computer from the internet. A software firewall is nice in that it potentially blocks malware that's already installed on the PC from making connections without your knowledge -- but I personally don't think it's worth the issues it creates. -
Might want to put spoilers in the title....

Dollhouse season 2 premiered last night. Anyone watch it? I have it recorded - going to watch it this weekend. If it's anything like the 2nd half of last year, it's going to be great. To those who stopped watching after an episode or two - go back and watch again from episode 6 or 7. Very good show - but like Firefly before it, being stuck on Friday night is limiting the viewership.

Or a chuckle... I know where you're coming from though -- I brought an A/v receiver in to get the firmware updated that fixed an HDMI bug. It was supposed to be free, I brought it to the service center, and they didn't know if it was supposed to be free or not (even though I confirmed with them a couple of days earlier...). So after arguing with them about it, I just took it home. They called and said, "Oh yeah, it is supposed to be free! Bring it back!" Screw that! So I looked at their website and saw that they had a Super Mario Brothers logo on their site -- they modified it so that he was carrying a tool box. I quickly went to Nintendo's website and reported them for copyright infringement. The logo was gone a week later. -

They're based on Germany, so I doubt they'll care much -

They were awesome in the 90s -- now they suck. There's a thread about free altneratives -- I use a tool from Ashampoo that works great. There's other options as well. -

Come on, you know that using the / key is better and geekier -- it's a vi command!!! -
It's not a plug if you don't tell us which show!! Did you work on V...???? I know that's coming out in November and I'm PSYCHED about it. Loved that show as a kid, and the early reviews are off the charts.

The numbers you quoted were MSRP - and old numbers to boot. You can get a 1TB headless server from Amazon for $392, shipped. http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-AH340-UA...4632&sr=8-8 Having to have a separate external harddrive for each PC would be really annoying -- I have 6 PCs in my house (overkil....) and they all backup automatically for me. Plus, like I said, WHS can do far more than just backups. If you just want a "software + harddrive" solution, then buy Norton Ghost. Stop trying to make your MacOS sound superior. If you like it, great, but no need to bash other solutions, especially when trying to base it on cost since a Mac costs a lot more than a comparable PC. EDIT: And who said anything about lugging around a server? A portable harddrive caters to a different market than a whole-home server. Stop trying to confuse the issue. Seesh, some people's children. -

That's why I highly recommend Windows Home Server. It automatically backs up all of the machines on your network. Something breaks, you just restore back to a point in the past, and after a 20 minute restore process, your PC looks exactly the way it did the day of the backup. You can buy an appliance from Asus or HP, or you can just build your own. Works great. It's also a nice central file server, and has some other neat features like accessing your files from outside the house if you want.
