  1. Well...yeah, but we already knew that. It's Ed.
  2. I'm just surprised anyone actually got it, frankly. Though I do honestly feel more strongly than you implied in your post. Ever since the Dubai Ports World issue basically confirmed that America actually does have the anti-Arab, anti-Islam, racist, xenophobic attitude that Islamic fundamentalists accuse us of having, it's been impossible for me to see America as an innocent victim of terrorism. And it isn't exactly a giant leap from that to "America deserves it".
  3. Wow. You actually got it. Except that I'm at a point now where stupid people dying of their own stupidity doesn't inspire a lot of sympathy in me. And Americans, generally, are really, really !@#$ing stupid.
  4. He deserves to be killed by terrorists for that interception. ...and he all but is. Tony Romo's in.
  5. Only Ed's allowed to incorrectly guess who crayonz is. Stop spoiling it for him...he has so little else.
  6. You mean...Sam Madison's not his receiver? Yeesh. Last two minutes of a half, Bledsoe throws a pick. He's the most consistent QB in the league.
  7. Those logos are horrible... ...and yet, so much better than the banana slug.
  8. It doesn't count until he gets 16 starts... ...er, 16 consecutive starts... ...and all in one season...
  9. Don't dis the Fighting Banana Slug...
  10. No, no, no...the GOP just jumped on the opportunity to play up the threat. Except that they didn't.
  11. The point of my four examples is that a eugenics program will work regardless of whether genes for high I.Q. are dominant or recessive, or whether 1 gene or 100 genes are involved in determining intelligence. If you care to dispute this point, please do so by illustrating the scientific basis of whatever objections you come up with. If you continue to restrict yourself to fact-free personal invective, I will assume it's because you're incapable of defending your point in any other way. 814269[/snapback] I think the problem he (and I) are having defending our points is that you're not capable of understanding them. I've already pointed out four different failings in your hypothesis (namely: you don't know what a "correlation" is, you don't know the difference between "heritability" and "inheritability", you don't know what "inheritance" is to begin with, and you've greatly oversimplified just about everything known on the subject.) All of these points would be clear if you could read and understand the research (as I made the effort to do, when this stupid discussion started), instead of reading and misunderstanding a single Scientific American article. At this point, I think it's safe to say that if, by some misguided reason, the government started paying people to breed smart children, you wouldn't be high on the list of grant recipients...
  12. I needn't point out anything so obvious. Going on a weekend hike in the Adirondacks in mid-October in weather conditions that included "freezing fog"? Kids obviously didn't check a weather report before they left...which is a pretty good indication that they weren't even remotely experienced enough to be hiking in the mountains in mid-fall. What else did they forget? A map? Compass? Matches? Wool clothes? So...yeah, they deserved. Nature has some pretty blunt and effective ways of telling people they're morons. If they're really, really lucky they'll learn the lesson themselves, and not just serve as an example to others.
  13. Actually, it's pretty much okay to make light of the situation and make jokes irrespective of what Google says.
  14. Clearly he hasn't quite sobered up yet...
  15. Actually, in a decision last year the Supreme Court overturned that in a 5-4 ruling, and said that the government may in fact confiscate your dip to the benefit of another party's double-dipping...
  16. Just so you know, I created my new username just to honor you...
  17. What am I supposed to tell you? "You can read my letter in the paper on Monday?" That I declined my security clearance and job with DoD because I can't in good faith defend this country? That I haven't said anything in this thread that I haven't spoken, in person, directly to people in the past 48 hours? You wouldn't believe me anyway. So what's there to debate? America's enemies deserve to be killed. Americans are their own worst enemies. Americans deserve to be killed. QED.
  18. And this seems...I don't know...reasonable to you? Yes, I do. I own a manx. Know what a manx is? It's a tailless breed of cat. Know what happens if I breed my manx true with another manx? I'd get cats with tails of all sorts. Maybe I'll get another manx. But then, maybe I'll get a manx when I breed tailed cats anyway (which is where my manx came from). Breeding - like just about everything else you think you've understood in this discussion - is nowhere near as clear-cut as you mistakenly believe. Really, you're a phenom...you've managed to be consistently incorrect on just about every point you've made, and yet you still manage to stand by them when you're demonstrated to be incorrect. Incredible.
  19. Again, trying...desperately...to...care... The nice thing about the internet, too, is that while you don't have to believe a thing I type...I don't have to justify anything to you, either.
  20. No, America deserves to be attacked because Americans can't be bothered to understand the world and the people in it. All Americans understand is how to be victims - of the GOP, of Arabs, of corporations, of Bill Clinton, of racism... This country's worst enemies are its own citizens blindly following the American Cult of Victimization, believing that insight and martyrdom and the same damn thing. So have your martyrdom, America. Wallow in it. Next time, your martyrdom will probably be nuclear...won't Americans be special then?
  21. Who wants a to-notch draft pick? Too expensive, and they only pan out 50% of the time.
  22. Twice now I've seen blockers with handfuls of Schoebel's jersey, in front of an official, go uncalled. I don't think it would make a difference in this game; the Bills are getting killed by their own mistakes, not the officials'. But it's pathetic nonetheless.
  23. "I don't want to turn my TV off, so move the team!" Moron.
