  1. Ya see this is what is going to hurt the Republicans come 2008. The only remotely electable person running on the conservative side is Rudy, and just like Arnold on the Coast he's had to liberalize many of his positions just to get elected. By doing that he's alienated the Bobby Jones Universty conservative types who call the shots in the primaries. In brief, the Republicans will probably shoot themselves in the foot and cast Rudy aside for a maniac like McCain. Don't concern yourself with Newt. Dennis Kucinich has a better shot.
  2. I was trying to figure out where that came from. No, I've never seen Major League.
  3. Thank you. Rose is an embarrasingly painful interviewer who never misses a chance to suck up to his guest during obvious moments. Is Newt Gingrich still relevant? I heard he wasn't going to run and it is just as well for what passes for the republican party these days. Lemmie see now we have a Newt...and a Mitt...and a *yuk-yuk* Rudy....and an old grandfather Simpson type who loves to tell old War stories. Very inspiring lot there on the conservative side lemmie tell you.
  4. Cindy Sheehan isn't ultra left? Jesus, even I think that broad comes off as a wee bit shrill.
  5. Wow...did you actually bother to read all that?
  6. Ah conspiracy, conspiracy! The image of the freaks at Waco perishing in their own self caused fire still rings loud and clear with the gun and christ loving screwball right.
  7. The one that I thought was most deserving of being in the top ten (beside Big Dick Cheney of course) is Mellon Sciaffe. The wing nut that Hillary nailed dead on with her oh so true comment about a "Right wing conspiracy". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_Project My old little league/highschool friend covers the Penguins for Mellon Sciaffe's hopelessly retarded Pittsburgh Tribune Review. I never fail to give him the business for that whenever I go down there.
  8. The Washington Times?!? What the fuh....?!?! Does anybody, even in Washington, read that rag? Just goes to show that one dedicated moonie with money to blow can achieve. How anyone can keep that paper around as long as Moon has is kind of impressive when you think about it.
  9. Wait a second....you mean to say Jesus isn't American?
  10. In honor of X Benedict's Atlantic Monthly top 100 list comes the 50 most loathsome Americans and while the usual suspects are all included (Cheney, Foley, Coulter) the top choice somewhat surprised me but is still a dead on choice. http://buffalobeast.com/113/50_most_loathsome_2006.htm
  11. I hadn't checked this forum in a week and I thought to myself before I logged on that I'm going to guess what the #1 topic of discussion will be over on PPP. I bet with more certainty than a Colts Superbowl win it will be the Pelosi airplane crap and sure enuff...... It's easy to figure out what's going to be discussed here (Pelosi, global warming debunking) and what's not (Libby trial, Iraq failure) without ever having to check the site. This forum is pretty much Fox Noise/Bill Orly driven or whatever else drives the screwball conservative right sect.
  12. Does this mean Al Gore wins the Oscar? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070202/ap_on_...imate_change_25
  13. Of course he isn't Gekko, but he seems to get a free pass from many, probably owing to his unfortunate stint as a POW. McCain, portrayed by the media as some sort of "Maverick", has proven in recent years that he'll play along to get along. He seems to have never really recovered from the tarbrushing Ralph Reed and the Bush 2000 campaign gave him in South Carolina. He lost his scrote by never really responding in any way. His candidacy is suspect at best. He's taken the unpopular view on a war that most would like to see end like now, the guy's ancient compared to most running against him, and the evangelicals aren't exactly warming up to him. I think he's done and he knows it so he might as well go all Strangelove like.
  14. Many on the left thought McCain was a righteous dude. I never fell for his act and I'll tell you why. John McCain has to be one of the most underrated political whores of our time. That and I think he might very well be insane.
  15. Ok, then why refer to Rowan at all? If you aren't comparing Hackett to Rowan then your reference makes little sense. Christ why not use Dick Cheney then? I couldn't give a rat's ass about Hackett. I just remember when his campaign got National attention and it was made mention that he was pro-gun and an NRA member. I then looked up to confirm for my post what I had previously heard and called you on it. After that I really don't know much about him....except he lost to Nurse Diesel.
  16. Of course there was a time not too long ago when all the nutty conservative right wing dickweeds would go nuts for impeachclinton.com Fact is though is that it is a little late to impeach at this stage, no matter how worthy the motive may be.
  17. "Politics as usual. Al Gore is supposedly an environmentalist but that hasn't stopped him from making millions with Occidental Petroleum and clearing hurdles for the company to rape environmentally sensitive land." Al Gore is a nimrod. Make no mistake about this guy. I actually took up a couple hours of my time to see his movie and was rewarded with such nuggets of wisdom at the end credits that maybe turning off some lights when I leave my domicile will go a long way towards saving the Polar ice caps. I make no bones that both Clinton and Gore were charlatans...and to a lesser extent Kerry. Still.....look what we've gotten since....*shudder*
  18. Busy news day in the Queen City and Erie County so I'll just throw these out there without comment: Buffalo Creek may not be "Sovereign land" says judge. http://buffalo.bizjournals.com/buffalo/sto...08/daily50.html Bass Pro considering spot on waterfront, not old Aud. Rep Higgins believes Aud should be demolished. American Axle on East Delevan in the city rumoured to be shutting its' doors. ...and there's always the Joel Giambra and the Control board. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20070112/1074249.asp
  19. Actually it has more to do with the outrage and furor provoked by the DeLay/Abramoff scandal than any "non voting representatives" whoever the hell they might be. http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/05/09/real.delay/
  20. Ok, I'll explain this to you carefully as if you were a child so listen up. Stuck in Cincy's obvious intent was to try and show Hackett was being hypocritical by menacing around his property with a very large gun, that's the reason for the mention of the late Washington Post columnist Carl Rowan in his post. Rowan, if you will recall, was an outspoken advocate of gun control in many of his columns who later threatened some kids swimming in his pool with a firearm. Now here's the key to the ignorance of stuck in Cincy's post, he tried to equate Hackett, a lifetime NRA member with the staunchly pro gun control Rowan. Ya git it now? It is funny about Hackett though. Here he's a gun advocate yet he loses the NRA's endorsement to Mean Jean proving once again that a nutball fringe group like the NRA is pretty much in the back pocket of the Republican Party and vice versa.
  21. Of course you neglect to mention that Hackett was pretty pro gun, pro NRA when he ran against mean Jean.
  22. I remember some other predictions from a few years back. "We will be greeted as liberators" "Mission Accomplished" "Iraq is not in a civil war" "Iraq is stockpiling WMD's" I bet virtually everything Pasta Joe stated in regard to Iran will happen, just as progressives predicted the disaster that is now iraq months and years before it happened, despite all the ignorant rhetoric from the radical conservative element.
  23. I always had a political soft spot in my heart for Gerry Ford....much more so than a goofball cowboy like Ronnie Reagan and his sycophants. Not easy being all that Gerry Ford was...and then accidently stumbling on the Presidency...are you kidding me! If Gerald Ford would be running for office today as a Republican he would have been neutered right off the bat. Where the loopy christian right rules over the current sad GOP, Ford was pro-choice back when...and I'm sure he probably had issues with the nutty gun culture that is another republican push button issue that never fails to ignite "THE BASE"! That is why it was so funny/sad watching Fox News this afternoon, and their stumble footed attempt (Michele Malkin-tee-hee) to try to "eulogize" him for the sole reason that he was a Republican. That out of the way let's aprreciate the memory of Ford....a President that I'm sure we can all agree led us out of a dark period where the citizens of this Nation didn't know who to trust. Gerald Rudolph Ford 1913-2006
  24. According to some Chicago folk marijuana is our biggest growth industry. And all this time I thought it was exporting terrorism.
  25. It's been strange and frustrating this season attending games. I'm not exactly sure what the deal is but the two games I've went to this year have been a pain when it comes to entering the Ralph...and I had bought my tickets back in August I always park over at the ECC lot and have never failed to make it in plenty of time for a 1:05 kick-of, this after using the washroom and buying a brewski. For some reason they decided to do things quite a bit differently to make it difficult for anyone who wants to attend. The main thing that threw me off was having the crowd go through the gates that correspond to the number on the tickets. That might seem like common sense but after decades of having a lax policy on which Gate to enter it seemed disconcerting.
