  1. Yee Gads, good thing we have some beef on the O-line now...What?
  2. I don't get the whole Randy Starks thing. I see him play here with the breasts. He's OK. Robaire Smith is a much better player and he is currently a FA. C
  3. Tell me where I said he was gonna be our featured back, oh mister with all the answers. All I said was that he'd be a great pickup. Leonard and Thomas in the backfield will give opposing Ds something to think about. If you can't see that, I'm not the one who is clueless... C
  4. I'd be surprised if Leonard lasted past the 2nd. Two back to back picks in the running game just isn't a good strategy IMHO. Leonard could be a slash type player ie. RB/FB/TE. Plus he actually already knows how to block. I suspect this draft is gonna be OL/DL heavy though if a DB falls far past his value spot, I just don't see this franchise passing him up. They just can't help themselves. That being said, if we pick up Okoye or a good solid LB (like Willis or Polutzny) in the first, a good value OT or RB in the second, I think I'd be happy. If we do get a 2nd for Baby Poppa McG, I'll be ecstatic if our draft when something like this: 1st round) Branch/Okoye/(after trading down)Grubbs/Willis/Posluzny/Brown 2nd round) Leonard/Blalock or Ramirez/solid WR or RB C
  5. I'd like to see us pick up Brian Leonard from Rutgers if it's the second round. He may not fit the trad. mold of a RB - more of a FB body type. But dang, the kid can do it all. He's not gonna out run anybody - but if we need a yard or two there's no stopping him. He makes his own holes...He's also a high character guy.
  6. Hey John, You're welcome. I would still try to find somebody who has a reliable recommendation for whom to see at Loma. Unless you already have a reference. C
  7. I don't care if Armageddon is scheduled for Tuesday. If there's a brand new House MD episode on, my wife and I Tivo it and watch. It's writing and acting is phenomenal. Beats the crap out of Grey's. Though the music on Grey's is cool. My wife is addicted to that too....
  8. John, I'm not a med professional. My wife is a PA but not ortho. I think BillsFanMD has given you some great advice. I think you're doing everything reasonably possible. So don't take this the wrong way. Not every doctor is created equal. Your son's injury doesn't sound unusual. Your doctor's experience dealing with the issue may be. I would talk to your social or sports network and see who has a good reputation and take your son there. Don't you live in the San Diego area? I would call UCSD's Sports Medicine Dept. and ask if they know of anyone in your area who could give you an informed second opinion. There might be other college/university medical centers in your area. I would research their faculty and call or email for references or advice. Faculty like to talk.;-) I work in a Med Ctr. For some health issues I wouldn't go anywhere else. For others, I would go to the competitor across town. We had our baby delivered at the cross town hospital. It's just a matter of institutional experience and focus. Plus, you don't take a thoroughbred to the local pet clinic... Good luck. Charles
  9. House? That was a great user friendly analysis and explanation...
  10. Oh, please stop the JK adoration...The guy was a HOFer QB - no doubt. But to hint that he did everything he could to win *our* team a SB is just assinine. You want to talk dedication and preparation for the biggest game of your career let alone your season? The poster boy for those particular values just won the Lombardi last night...Peter King's article today talks about that: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...bowl/index.html Jim's Ego was second to none. The guy was a tough SOB, gunslinger and improviser. It worked great during the regular season but he was not a cerebral stragegist who prepped meticulously and could keep his cool when the chips were down on the biggest football stage. You think that 90s team would have kept it's (QB's and by extension)collective cool when Hester ran the opening kickoff back? I think not. You think that 90s QB would have seen that running the ball in that typhoon till your RBs legs fell off was the best strategy? Think not... And the list goes on...Sure the D and the coaching were culpable too...But the truth is Teddy and Marv should have taken the reins back for those big games from Jim. Maybe not publicly. But certainly subtlely, I think his adrenaline got the better of him and someone else calling the shots would have benefitted all parties... Charles
  11. Let's be honest - the previous regime didn't believe in communication. Just masters and serfs...I seem to recall a bunch of incidents like that over TD's tenure. But come to think of it most of them occurred during the GW era. How many times did you hear potential free agents say - we haven't heard from the front office etc. etc. The OL coach who just left said how much Levy and Jauron have brought back the warmth to One Bills Drive. It's not what you do - it's how you do it...I believe a two back team will work with this administrative team. But I have a funny feeling Willis has punched his ticket out of Buffalo. If not this season, then next... Another thing, If Mort's buddy is so great, how come he wasn't even on anybody's interview list this year... C
  12. Our offense Kelly in particular seemed to come up so small in those big games...I really think that first loss against the Giants got into their heads a bit. I blame Kelly for most of it. Dumb ass turnovers and not knowing when to stick with the run... I really thought that second Dallas game we had a chance, but then TT just seemed to quit after the fumble in the second half.
  13. When you only have 32 franchises...Seems to me you don't have much of a choice...Plus with money and private planes it truly is the "global" village. No big loss. Rice was on the downturn after SF/LA. C
  14. I think Jamarcus Russell will be a better QB when all is said and done. But I am real happy to have JP. The guy has spirit. At the end of the day, I want someone like that more than where he went to school or who he played for...I wish Quinn well. But really there's something about him that bothers me but I can't put my finger on it. The same with Leinart. I rather have VY (obvious now) or Cutler.
  15. Dom Capers is decent. The Texans are just a dysfunctional club. Their prev GM Casserly made some bad decisions. That being said if Capers gets the HC job, if he doesn't find a good OC, he's toast. C
  16. I would like for the Bills to resign Clements. But realistically I don't see it happening...There's top cover money and then there's crazy Washington Redskins money or Miami or some other team more than willing to grossly overpay for the privelege. And I do mean "grossly." If that happens I think we're out of the Clements sweepstakes. It'd be different if we were winning and had a guarantee of a successful immediate future...I like Jauron, Levy and what they've done this season. But frankly, there are still some significant questions, next year is Phase 2 of rebuilding. The picture though promising is anything but crystal clear... So if I were Clements I'm looking to leverage my prime income earning years into long term financial bliss or a direct shot at the Super Bowl. Currently the Bills (to me at least) don't offer either. That having been said - I hope the front office finds a way to make it work. Losing him would mean this team will have to overcompensate in other areas ie. will Jauron take McGee off kick return duties since he would then become the de facto No. 1. corner? Clements also has the most ints in the secondary. Does that mean our offense changes the way it plays? I think there'll be a ripple effect thru the team... Anyways, losing Fletcher and/or Clements will impact this team - but perhaps the Bills will get lucky and find talent and experience to overcome either or both those losses...if they do happen...will just have to wait and see....
  17. Minnesota's Marcus Robinson is being released. Should the Bills go get him? He's their receiving leader (not that that's saying much)... Robinson Released
  18. I live here in NashVegas. Most of the Titans fans here seem pretty cool. But honestly, they are for the most part the very definition of "fair weather" fans. When the team was struggling earlier this year they were all ready to lynch Jeff Fisher...For my money, the best coach in the NFL. He's smart and knows how to get the most out of his players. Can you imagine Saban or Belichick having nut cases like Pacman Jones and Albert Haynesworth on their teams? SupDawg and Titans20 probably are UT fans...Now that my friends is truly scary...
  19. Kidding me? I'd rather trust you, Lori than any old DTV e-mail....
  20. Say is it still 713 on DirecTV ? I had a bulletin in my e-mail that said 712 for the coverage channel. Thanks Lori. Charles
  21. FYI - Asian includes a whole bunch of ethnicities. Chinese, Indian etc. etc...
  22. I think we sign Nate and Fletcher with backloaded contracts. (3-5 yrs) The priority this offseason I think is either sign a veteran or draft a wide body (quick or not) for the Dline for 1st and 2nd down. The opposition is killing us with their run game. I know we have McCargo - but he is an unknown at this point. Before his injury Kyle Williams was outplaying him - so I'm not sold on him. Having a DT who can keep guys off our LBs will address the LBs issues somewhat. Someone like a Robaire Smith - if the Titans don't resign him or maybe Michael Myers from Denver. We don't need a sack machine just someone that doesn't get pushed around. That I think will help Triplett and Williams as well. I don't think neither Smith nor Myers will be expensive. I love Whitner but man Haloti Ngata would look good in a Bills uniform. Charles
  23. Not much apparently...$50 - $100 bucks if at all...
