1. While Esasion wasn't particularly throwing jabs at JP, he currently just doesn't belong in that discussion. On the contrary if JP finishes the season strong and he plays great next year, these same media guys will start to kiss up and bring out positive points about JP pre-draft in that he was the most athletic and had the strongest arm and the fastest legs among the top 4 QB's in his draft class and kiss, kiss,KISSS!

Oh, so when JP plays well they'll show him in a positive light, bt right now he's playing like a turd, so they're speaking about him negatively. Damn those reporters!

2. I was wondering the same thing aloud yesterday, after one of the many times JP was pressured on a 5-7 step drop.

You bring a very good point on the receivers.  Their lack of size may make it more problematic to throw the quick slant.  They are unable to adequately use their body to shield the defender from the ball.  This makes it easier for the DB to cut the reciever off on his route and possible intercept.

After yesterday's game, I noted that a big WR needs to be a priority for the team next year.  That kid from ND (Smardje (sp?)) would look good, and may even be available in the 3rd round.

Yup. With the exception of Josh Reed, I can't see any of our current receivers being capable of shielding the defender off to help JP complete those kind of routes. Definitely not the contact-avoiding Price or the undersized Parrish, and probably not Evans either.

With that all said, though, I'd still like to see them try a quick slant once in awhile because these deeper drops aren't working. With the combination of weak pass protection and an inexperienced quarterback whose being told to stay in the pocket, these deep drops are brutal. And if we can't specifically complete slants with these receivers, we should run some quick crosses, outs, and those WR screens we were running earlier in the year.

3. Look carefully, it's putting "prematured" between "my" and "system" in his post:  :P
it's easier for you to criticize my system

822177

Exactly. You said he made a mistake by not adding "prematured" in between "my" and "system". I'm just saying he didn't make a mistake, he merely chose to be less descriptive than you were. Omitting an adjective isn't a mistake, its just being more general. Therefore, by calling him out on a mistake that didn't exist, you were the one making the mistake. :P

4. 1. Look at Mannings "supporting cast" pre-Manning and post-Manning. Manning makes players better.

Manning does have a 3 year start ... yet that doesnt matter considering that Manning 5 years into his career was already in the top 50, which Brady isnt. Go figure.

As I said. We just disagree. Thats OK though.

I can't understand your thinking here Dax. If I have to win a big game against a tough defense, I'm taking Brady. I'm taking the guy whose successfully navigated the playoffs several times over the guy who falls on his face whenever he faces the Pats with superbowl hopes on the line. I'd throw those nice, shiny statistics of yours out the window because I want the guy who just finds a way to win the big games no matter what.

You say Manning is the best "pure QB." What do you mean by that? I'd say he's closer to a classic prototypical quarterback...but Brady's still better. However, Manning is still a close 2nd and nobody else comes close to the two of them.

5. yes, they're an embarrassment.

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?

Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand?

Alright. I'm goin down to shoot my old lady,

you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man.

Yeah, I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady,

you know I caught her messin' 'round with another man.

Huh! And that ain't too cool.

Hey Joe, I heard you shot your woman down,

you shot her down.

Hey Joe, I heard you shot you old lady down,

you shot her down to the ground.

Yes, I did, I shot her,

you know I caught her messin' 'round,

messin' 'round town.

Uh, yes I did, I shot her

you know I caught my old lady messin' 'round town.

And I gave her the gun and I shot her!

Alright

Ah! Hey Joe!

Shoot her one more time again, baby!

Yeah!

Joe where you gonna go?

Oh, alright.

Hey Joe, said now,

uh, where you gonna run to now, where you gonna run to?

Yeah, where you gonna go?

Hey Joe, I said,

where you goin' to run

to now, where you, where you gonna go?

6. Yards Per Attempt as a statistic is the most heavily correlated non point related stat to winning % in the NFL. Out of any indivdual player statistic that doesn't involve points it's the most heavily correlated stat to win % in the NFL. You factor in rushing yards as I have, and the correlation is even stronger.

811625

Slightly off topic, but do you have numbers to back that up? I'd be interesting in seeing that.

I feel waht you are saying. But you can't win with those so-called Bills fans who want JP to fall on his face to say I told you so or hate to admit that he has improved and is still going through a learning process. You'd think JP was a Joey Harrington, Kyle Bowler, or Tim Couch situation.

812012

These posts need to go away. Those fans just don't exist.

7. Look I wasn't trying to compare quotes but more so body language and emotion, James Lofton said he played football with Marcus Allen and another good rb who I can't remember right now, and then Thurman and said Thurman was the most competitive running back he ever played with.  I don't see what Willis has ever done for you to be on his jock, I mean he definately is not garbage.  He is talented and I'm sure he plays hard to a degree, but I hate seeing people compare him to Thurman Thomas who will be going into the Hall of Fame this year.  Has Willis shown even the slightest signs of performing at a HOF level yet?

Look through the thread and show me the post where somebody said McGahee is in the same league as Thurman. You're likely referring to Dax, who merely said McGahee's lack of heart and passion is a misconception. You're fighting a straw man that you built all on your own.

8. In any event, I really want to see how the Bills respond to getting blown out. I think that is more of a test than hoping that our rebuilding team will march into the home of the nfl's best team and walk out with an upset win.

800598

I like that. Lets get our feet under us, regroup, put the past behind and go beat a team that we ultimately should beat. 3-3 looks a whole lot better than 2-4.

Go Bills!

9. Dax, I'm a McGahee supporter but if the guy is so childish that he can't put up with having a backup taking 20-30% of the carries then let him go. Just look around the league, there's as many teams with a second running back who plays a role in the offense as there are teams that use a single feature back. He'd still be the unquestioned number 1, but it would be nice to have some versatility and a change of pace. I don't know anything about Wolfe in particular but if he could give us what Turner gives to San Deigo, than I'm all for it. As long as our 1st rounder is a left tackle!
