  1. interesting offseason. i like the 'outside the box' thinking.
  2. according to pro-football-reference, reed played SS his first 4 years.
  3. ye gods, erin andrews is so fine
  4. uhm, doing a quick glance-over, i see at least 5 references to 'throwing shoulder' in the first few posts. I'd say it's his throwing shoulder that's hurt.
  5. it all depends how you're judging them ... in run support and blitzing, yeah, adrian is probably the best. however, if you're talking about causing turnovers (49 takeaways compared to 24 for wilson) and scoring with the ball once they get it (11 touchdowns to 4 for wilson) then ed reed is clearly superior.
  6. a note on the Stallworth contract. It was reported as something like 6 years, 30 million, but in reality it was a 1 year for a few million.
  7. well, in college, tebow is damn near unstoppable. urban meyer has the all the perfect pieces for his shotgun spread. playmakers with game-changing speed are all over the offense, so you can't key on one guy. every player can get the ball, no matter what their position (i.e. end-arounds, option play, etc). tebow has a passable arm, and is a threat to run because he's bigger than most of the defense and deceptively fast. even when tebow throws a bad pass (not an uncommon thing), his receivers are such good athletes they can adjust and get to the passes.
  8. brady also had the benefit of a usually top-10 and sometimes top-5 defense behind him
  9. don't forget ALONZO JACKSON! he was a colossal bust.
  10. i'd say reed should definitely be considered in the discussion. Not only is he a playmaking, ballhawking safety, but he's scored an amazing eleven touchdowns in his career... more likely than not, he's going to own the career record for interception return yardage. basically, if he gets the ball in his hands on defense, he's probably going to score.
  11. baltimore has a tough d and has done that to many quarterbacks this year. i'm not surprised.
  12. I'm with you on the system QB label. System or not, Brady has consistently put up good numbers his whole career. Paired with one of the best receivers in contemporary NFL history, he had a year for the ages. (points subtracted imo because the 07 pats were clearly trying to pump up brady's stats, whereas the colts in Manning's record setting year sat Manning out of the tail end of several blowouts). Is it the system that makes him good? I don't really care.
  13. Don't get me wrong, Tom Brady is a great QB, Hall-of-fame worthy, but I don't think he's the best. like i said earlier, tom brady rode vinatieri's foot to where his legend is of epic proportions. yes, he was clutch in those game-winning drives, but it's adam V that brought the victories. throw in the fact that brady has generally had top-10 defenses his entire career and that the first SB win never should have happened, I don't think he's the best quarterback ever.
  14. nearly as idiotic as the 'come talk to me when Peyton has rings 2 and 3' statement you made.
  15. I guess if Manning gets injured and Jim Sorgi puts up ridiculous numbers, then Manning will be considered a system QB. until then...
  16. the argument of using super bowl rings to compare the greatness of a player is idiotic in the first place. jim kelly never won a super bowl. trent dilfer did. vinatieri is the reason brady is considered great.
  17. Tom Brady also cheated. Peyton Manning did not. Brady, for the majority of his career, has been on teams with defenses that were above average to very good.. the same cannot be said of Manning. Brady also had a kicker that is the best clutch kicker in the NFL.. Vandershank was definitely not and responsible for many a lost game of Indy's.
  18. been a bills fan since 1990.. not optimistic w/ jauron.
  19. when all is said and done, barring unforeseen circumstances, peyton manning is probably going to own just about every significant passing record. please tell me why tom brady is better.
  20. what about when Wilfork did his Jimmy Superfly Snooka impression? A 15 yarder from someone on the O would have been more than welcomed.
  21. oh, my, Trent's highlights are TO DIE FOR. :swoons:
  22. Yeah, but you're Canadian so you lose. In the end it all balances out.
  23. if I could afford it, I'd still have the Sunday ticket. I cancelled this past year.. crappy team or not, if money wasn't so tight, I'd still have the Sunday Ticket. Actually, that's the only reason I ever used DirecTV. Dish Network is much better for TV, imo.
  24. newsflash, Ray, but there's this guy named Peyton Manning that plays QB.
