Just Watched First Half of GB Game
billsintaiwan replied to HarkinBanks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yup. that play would have made me sit his sorry arse for the second half. the guy isn't an nfl quarterback. fitz would have made that play. -
gailey is wishy-washy? sullivan wants to see edwards against new england again? or he doesn't? what? the guy is like the soviet news service. same line, over and over. often right about racism in watts and not much else. i get the line that the bills are a dysfunctional franchise. the proof is unfortunately in the pudding. however this article is pure nonsense. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/columns/jerry-sullivan/article196311.ece

Some quotes by Chan today....
billsintaiwan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
fitz, if nothing else, can read a blitz and would have hit a wide open parrish on that last third down play on the last possession in the first half. parrish was good for at least the first down and probably much more. no way an fitz misses that. that is the difference between him and TE. he sees defenses and has some balls. he just doesn't always make the throw because he isn't the most accurate guy in the world. that parrish play, btw, was a real game changer. it looks awful on film. bet that was the clincher for gailey. -

Would Maybin work better as...
billsintaiwan replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
unfortunately, i don't know if i've ever seen a guy look less like a professional football player. both maybin and the recently released james hardy look permanently lost in their own ways. -
East Side Grill or Red Lion on University Avenue. the grill has a good breakfast buffet.

Is anyone else not fully buying into Gailey?
billsintaiwan replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
no. i'll stop here. -
Have ever you hated a player in the NFL?
billsintaiwan replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
fully concur. he was a whinging ninny in most his games against kelly's bills. imploring refs, cussing out his teammates, and generally pouting like a frustrated child. mcgahee as well. two things about buffalo that have always been cool are the food and bars. and i don't mean chippewa. people who are into dave and busters and can't dig a cool joints like the old pink or mohawk place, or dig buffalo's great food, just are not my people. his insults reveal what a shallow mtv-driven culture produces. -
Live Stream and Feeds for Bills Games
billsintaiwan replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
cheers mate. like bowery4, i'm in asia and have no chance to see the preseason games. hope this works! -
If we merge with the Lions, we'll achieve all of our goals much faster. No more qb debate, great receiver to play with evans. don't know about their lineman. two anachronistic cities merge to form the Billions. I reckon the lines would still be weak.

until our comeback win over the oilers, that was hands down the best game i'd ever seen. coryell made the game a blast. too bad it was minus whatever when they played the bengals. would have dug a niners-chargers superbowl.

slightly off topic, but yeah words get contorted. i remember when i was at ub and took an 'african-american politics' class. first day of class, professor major coleman, a black guy, writes the name of the class on the board and then crosses out 'african-american' and writes 'black'. he said that black, to him, was a more powerful and honest word. the black kids in class didn't know what to think since 'african-american' was the proper term of the day. lenny bruce and dick gregory had their takes on the n word. lenny, a white guy, said say it so many times it becomes meaningless. somewhat taken up by the black community in reference to one another. dick gregory used it as the title of his book. that way, he said, the next time someone called his mother 'the n word', she'd know they were talking about his book. i wouldn't use 'colored' because it would take too much time to explain your point of view. who knows. remember 'flesh' or was it 'skin' colored crayolas that were caucasian colored? anyway, no matter, black or white, colored or no, dusky hued or pale, i'll reiterate, unnecessarily since we all know, that this is awful. i have a 2 year old. i travel for work quite often (baseball scout). always leave him with my wife. she has to work part-time (scout's salary is crap), so she'll leave him with her parents. all sorts of shite could happen. knock on wood that it hasn't.

http://www.libraryindex.com/pages/1779/Gun...BY-GUNFIRE.html this says more black kids than white kids die by the gun, but it doesn't break down age and race,m just race and it is up to 19 years old. plenty more black kids get offed by non-accidental shootings than white kids, no? i just don't recall any stories of little black finds daddy's gun and pops himself. heard a few about little white kids doing such. doubt it is terribly common in either case.

Chan's plan for training camp
billsintaiwan replied to AxelRipper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. he was ranting about on the front line...where? ah yes. cuba. there wouldn't be a front line there if we didn't insist on maintaining a cold war base. if anyone couldn't handle the truth, it was the colonel. it was a fine rant though. i think jack did something like fifty times before he was satisfied. -
Worst NFL stadium issue you have had, anywhere
billsintaiwan replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't my story, it comes from my uncle. It was a Monday night game in the 70's and he was on acid. The game got a bit "like a pinball game on tilt", so he went to take a leak and saw a little kid trying to wake up his father who was passed out with his head in the pisser. "Wake up, daddy. wake up!" -

buffalo bills security stole a can of pringles from my grandfather and i in 1985. other than that, it has been all good. -
Did anyone else buy that bottle opener that plays Van's call for Christie's game winning kick in the the Comeback? Mine lasted a long time despite frequent and enthusiastic use.
-
But that wasn't the point of the post, was it?

I hope his golf tournament got plenty of support. I remember meeting him when I was about twelve years old at a UB football game. This was way back when and they played at the old field with the hill on one side. My grandfather's friend ("Lefty" Helms from Clarence, I think or maybe Jack Hesslink) received some local award and we got a lunch and game gratis. Hank Bullough was still coach of our Bills at the time. I remember Van was sitting behind us at the game and I was loudly complaining about the restrictions placed on Kelly in the offense, hoping he would say something. He finally looked down, smiled and said, "My money is on Jim being around a lot longer than Mr. Bullough." The guy is a class act and I wish him the best.

OK, assuming you are a man, let's say BR was going to do you in the cornhole. Would you say "This isn't OK - we shouldn't be doing this" or would you say "STOP! THIS IS RAPE. SOMEBODY HELP ME!" or some such thing? Expressing discomfort with the time, place, or manner of the act is not saying "NO. This is rape." Nothing in that transcript leads me to believe that this young woman is credible. That being said, it is possible she like meant to say like, you know, it wasn't, really like cool. But who knows. Depending on the context, those words could conceivably mean "NO!" It isn't clear. I've seen enough of this board to know that people don't change their minds very often, so this is the last I'll post on this topic. If you think that a person should be charged or prosecuted based on this woman's testimony, then you just don't get it.
-
I don't know what kid of guy BR is, but did anyone read the transcript? The chick couldn't remember what position she was in when she was getting it? And as far as no means no goes: 'This isn't OK. We don't need to be doing this.' Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10161/10645...m#ixzz0qd4tIdYr What does that mean? Not here, not now? More than enough reasonable doubt in that transcript to give BR a pass in my book.
-
Exactly. Now that we have real, old school football people in charge, the pouting routines will come to an end. Too bad Lynch is a ditz. Big fan of the Nix and Gailey thus far.

It'll be nice to see a Simpson carrying the rock for the Bills again.
