The win was great! But largely aided by missed field goals and great defense.

Like I said, 14 points vs any team doesn’t impress me. If you thought he called a good game, I won’t argue that. Idc how good the defense is, if you score 14 points in any game, you shouldn’t “award” the OC a game ball.

OK, then I am counting points the Bills would have put in the board to win in the final drive to end the game - remember "if your Aunt had ***** she would your Uncle; we won!

Just really curious now how you get from my post above to your response.

3-1 is pretty good for us so far AND Allen has not been connecting on his deep ball.

Not sure about every one, but certainly Allen has at times passed up (or not seen) what the D is giving him underneath.

Barring throw aways, I can almost never say that.  Timing is so tricky.  Allen has to understand what speed his WR has, guess on the impact of wind, and the WR has to be able to release and run as fast as he does in practice.  Is it Allen misfiring or the misjudging the wind or misjudging the WR speed or the WR not getting a clean release - it's hard for me to tell.  If you can be so confident it's Allen misfiring, I guess more power to you.

To Hapless Bills Fan, "3-1 is pretty good for us so far AND Allen has not been connecting on his deep ball," so what? The only statistic that counts is won - loss!

Allen has improved greatly in the short game and, honestly, is probably best in the 20-25 yard range. I don't know why all the concern on deep passes as they shouldn't be calling that many of them anyway with the receivers they have outside of Brown.

Because we want "showtime arena football" excitement - screw football in its pure form! How many of those posting would sit in Minneapolis during the 1960's on a cold gray day watching smash mouth football by the Purple People Eaters and winning?

How so?  Curious... I haven’t seen any claims of Allen having been accurate with his deep ball?

    Why?  He isn’t fast

3 Wins One loss - Guess that's not good enough!

  4. None, get over it and stop blowing snot bubbles about the past! Bill Polian: "This team hurt itself over the years by hanging on to fan favorites instead of looking to the future." Really bad post! You hang on to emotion!

Robert Woods for me as well.

Its funny, I remember him being vilified on this board while he was here.

Of course, this is TBD! We love drama!

McD is likely heavily involved in the defense. Frazier and McD have known each other for twenty years. They were both position coaches under Jim Johnson in Philly at the turn of the century. The defense we’re looking at today is a combination of that influence (A gap pressure and line stunts) coupled with the cover 3 McD perfected and the cover 2 that Frazier always ran. They managed to mesh the schemes seamlessly which doesn’t happen without exceptional communication.

    No argument, good post!

That’s fair though I do question how much autonomy he really has. Are we sure McD gave him play calling duties back after he took them away last year?

Truly an assumption (remember what happens when you assume), this is the NFL; if Frazier is not capable of running the defense he would be gone. The HC position cannot be duel hatted! This is hos defense pure and simple!

Note 1: it’s an Honorary Title. (with apologies to a certain poster)

Note 2: I don’t have the luxury of recording games, so this comes solely by watching the game Sunday.

I haven’t brought this up yet and been looking unsuccessfully in every thread to see if it was noticed as well, but I’m absolutely convinced Allen was concussed in the very 1st Drive. He was sacked & lost a fumble, because the front of his head was slammed into the turf falling back towards our end zone. I caught it immediately and focused hard on him getting up and whenever the camera showed him. Next drive out, on the 1st play, he came up under Center and whipped his head back & forth quickly & violently. (Clearing cobwebs -I’m convinced) I know what that ‘movement’ means and no one has ever done it that wasn’t trying to shake themselves alert.

If he’s honest with team Drs. & coaches about this, MAYBE he returns after the Bye -because he was absolutely knocked the ef out later in the game.

Anyway, I’m convinced this ne’er before discussed concuss is at the root of his game long issues.

Flame if you have the game recorded and can dispute this by further viewings.

Thats a loser mentality and maybe if the Bills wasn't relaxing on special teams  then we would have won the game.

He cheated his way to his first two Super Bowls, and had two given to him by stupid coaches for Seattle and Atlanta.  We don't know how many other times he cheated and didn't get caught.  On Sunday, they used the pick play and deliberately knocked out JA to win the game.  That's cheating as well, the NFL just doesn't call them on it.  I'm sick and tired of watching these guys get away with murder.  Their "dynasty" is a farce, enabled by an NFL that looks the other way and keeps giving them call after call.  Sunday was the last straw for me.

    Snot bubbles!

Belichick has been there for 20 years.  Most of his staff has been there a long time.  His details and discipline are entrenched.    Because of longevity and consistency  his teams practice fine details and situations that other coaches don’t have time to do.

The Pats* even practice their rule stretching pick plays, their holding without getting called, and how to draw holding.

He saw we have a rookie ST coach and he went after him.   He will probably do it again.

    Come on, he cheats!

  10. Oh come on, he has only been on top for twenty years by cheating!! Coaching, drafting, QB play, scouting, film study has nothing to do with it!

3 hours ago, Freddie's Dead said:

Belichick is a cheatin' piece of crap.  The only reason he wins now is that the NFL is invested in maintaining the myth of the Cheats "dynasty".  ***** Belichick and the horse he rode in on.

Deep post, great insight, so glad you are on TBD!

Your comparison is not only valid it's a valuable way to modulate our reaction to Allen's performance yesterday.

The idea that you can't compare today's QB performance to those in the 1990's is flat out wrong.  INT's were bad in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and even in the 1990's.  QB's that threw more picks then TD's are struggling no matter the decade.  The stats on Favre you posted are particularly relevant IMO.  I suspect that after throwing 19 TD's & 24 INT's in his 3rd season there were a lot of Green Bay fans wondering if he was the guy.

It would be interesting to see Favre's stats on fumbles & sacks his first couple of seasons.  I bet there uglier then Allen's are.

Try Joe Namath especially his Super Bowl Year; the only stat that counts is the won loss column!
