stand by for an on slaught of attacks from those who believe this is a playoff caliber team; as I stated on another post this team has many holes to fill, not to mention fielding a completely revamped defense. Poor coaching and schemes, horribly play from CBs and LBs, no pass rush, sloppy tacking, and it is not a physical team.
-
They cannot stop anyone on third down, no pass rush, lousy play by CBs, and sloppy tacklers. And it's still the first half.
-
Not saying we are not competitive - we sure; as I stated we are a vastly improved team. If we win today against Dallas I will be one happy mofo. But the win does not diminish the fact this team has many holes to fill this off season.
-
The Bills have improved and have a good nucleus to buid on; they are not yet a playoff contender.
- The Defense is still poor and a major disappointment; they cannot stop the run nor get pressure on the opposing QB
- Fitz is a great stop gap solution but not the franchise QB needed to go all the way.
- Fred Jacklson is the Buffalo Bill of the decade and current heart and soul of the team, howver, he is thirty plus years.
- CJ Spiller has yet to prove he is worthy of being a first round pick.
- Still need a deep threat.
I we finish above .500 or sneak into the playoffs it will considered success - absolutely - but I see the same results as the Jets game.

Build an open air stadium in downtown Buffalo on the waterfront! I love the idea of a late December game with cold gray skies! The Vikings have never been the same since they movede to a domed stadium, take football back to its roots, muddy, snow and the gray December sky.
-
I have to say that Fred Jackson is one of my favorite all time Bills; great success story, exciting to watch and all Buffalo mind set.
-
This guy is playing awesome football; definitely a contender for MVP at this point in this young NFL season. Part of the problem during the loss in Cincy was the fact we did not get the ball in this guys hands.
-
I could not agree more, the Bills Defense is terrible! You cannot give up 400 yards a game and be a contender. Tghis is going to become very evident against the Giants. Bottom line is the Defense is not physical and Eli is going to have a field day.

mcKelvin is a hold over from the losing era of Jauron and poor draft picks. Time to move on!

Got to admit I was wrong, but still cautious. Been a long ten years.

This one is for all of you, no matter where you are in the world. Stay safe and God Bless. Enjoy the big win too.

Just an FYI for all of us BILLS fans in the AOR.
AFN's Game of the week is PATRIOTS vs. BILLS (at least we will get to see ONE (1) live game this season)
Game time is:
- 2000 in Iraq
- 2130 in Afghanistan
Go BILLS!!!!….
just returned from a year long deployment to Iraq, know the feeling of getting to see the Bills live on AFN. For all of you deployed I hjope you see a great game with a Bills victory. Nothing better for morale. God Bless and stay safe.

Freddie Jackson is the greatest Bill since the glory days of the nineties! Class act too!
-
I must admit, at half time I was thinking same old bills.
-
Howard Kindig number 67; played both offensive and defensive line.
-
Howard Kindig; played offense and defense from 67 - 72; played for the Dolphins on the 1972 perfect season.

I've been a bills fan a longtime since mid to late 70's.Lived thru the
Super Years( we could win every game but one).
We became a halfassed organization when Ralph fired John Butler.of
course they(including buddy)went to SD, became buffalo west and you
know what happened.
We, on the other hand, hired the arrogant idiot Donahue, and equally arrogant ass
greggo"I dont like fat guys"Wiliams, watched a proud organization get run into the ground.
brought Marv back for stability because we became a laughingstock.watched him and realized
he was a good coach, but not a Gm.suffered thru the Jauron/tampa 3 crap."Its tough to win
in this league"geez what an idiot.
Now we are back to what we never should have let go.Buddy and Chan are Football men building
a football team, with excellent coaches and a frim belief of their philosophy.Teams used to
be scared to play in Buffalo, they will again.
Keep up the good work!No more undersized players.Thank God..!
I think we are watching a disaster in the making - remember 1985!

Great story on the TBD front page about JD Hill. He's from the same part of Stockton that I grew up in and about 12 years older. Early in his NFL career he would visit friends across from a park where alot of us would play pick-up games in the afternoon. We all knew who he was and we'd yell and wave and he'd come over and throw the ball around and talk to us. He was a real cool dude. It's great to see how he's turned his life around. He's always had a good heart.
JD Hill played hard nose football with a lot of character. I too am happy he is turning his life around.

The one place he should be in is on the stadium wall. Some people claim that the owner has a grudge against him. I'm not sure that is the case. Cookie Gilchrist and Lou Saban both should be honored by being inducted onto the stadium wall. Both Cookie and Lou were not easy personalities to deal with. But there is no doubt that both are sizeable contributors to the history of the Bills. It is time to do the right thing and honor the both of them. From what I understand Saban has a daughter who lives in the Buffalo area and Cookie is not in good health.
Totally agree with all, it is a shame Lou Saban is not on the wall in Buffalo. Cookie I understand wants to get paid for being on the wall. Great point about Cookie in the Hall of Fame, think he is more deserving than Floyd Little.

I won't say HATE, but there seems to be a general dislike or disinterest towards the Bills nationally. I mean when they are rumored to re-locate, no one seems to care other than locals like us or ex-pats. No one really has any sympathy towards the fans of Buffalo and their dedication even after those 4 SB losses. Is it maybe because Bills fans are viewed as cocky, drunk and obnoxious? Ralph is a meddling, cheap old geezer? i don't know.
I travel quite a bit and have to say that the Buffalo Teams of the 90s led by Jim Kelly and the "no huddle" had many fans. Just spent time in a Tampa watering hole and relived a few Bills memories from those days. I think if the Bills ever put a competitive product on the field and get back to the playoffs the support is there to stay in Buffalo. I'm just sold on the off season restructuring of the front office, things could get ugly in 2010.

Kind of agree, I still contend that Schobel is a second team player on a Super Bowl caliber team. As far as Stroud, Ted Washingtton or Smerlas would get the nod over him. The Lee Avans story here in Buffalo is sad. He plays with Kelly and he is a HOF. He is a class act too. I still like Fred Jackson, a character player who would have fit right in with the 90s teams.

Greatest Bill of All Time: Jim Kelly

This is a spinoff from the "mobile, agile, and hostile" thread.
Who are the SOFTEST or LEAST AGILE Buffalo Bills you can think of?
My list:
Mike Williams - a big teddy bear. No mean streak whatsoever. Always overweight and slow.
Lonnie Johnson - his name is Lonnie. 'nuff said.
Erik Flowers - perhaps the most timid defensive lineman I've ever seen in a Bills uniform.
Eddie Robinson - got deked for a touchdown by Chad Pennington. 'nuff said.
Please add to the list.
How about Walt Patulski, the 1972 first round pick; happy go lucky guy who never made it in the NFL.
Our defense is horrible

No one is suggesting they can fix or overhaul the defense in one or even two years.
