  1. A native of upstate NY and a longtime Bills fan now living in NW Arkansas I would like to throw out some ideas for the Bills concerning some former Razorbacks:

    1) Take a look at signing Matt Jones at WR, assuming that we don't resign TO. Matt has made some off field mistakes, but he really is a fine person. He is 6'6" and runs a lgit 4.4 forty. He is an athletic freak and was the 1st round pick of the Jaguars a few years ago.

    2) Trade Marshawn Lynch to Oakland for Darren McFadden. A change of teams would benefit both players.

    3) If we don't draft a QB in the 1st round, I would take a chance on Mitch Mustain in the later rounds. Mitch was the top rated QB coming out of High School four years ago (ahead of Matthew Stafford and Tim Tebow). He enrolled at the University of Arkansas and by the 2nd game of the year he was the starter. He guided the razorbacks to seven consecutive wins (over SEC competition) and saved Houston Nutt his job at Arkansas. He started the 8th game but threw an early interception and was pulled by Nutt and never returned as the starter, while the razorbacks played .500 ball the rest of the year. Mitch and Nutt never saw eye to eye and he transferred to USC following his freshman year. He then was behind an established USC quarterback (Mark Sanchez) and this year Pete Carroll decided to go with the new Freshman phenom (Barkley). Even though he has not played a lot the past few years, he is a very talented QB and probably better than 95% of the current starting collegiate QB's. Keep an eye on him.

    1. wouldnt mind taking a shot on jones.

    2. dont understand this.

    3. i'd be alright taking a shot on any qb in the draft, even mitch cumstein.

  2. If Shanahan does come here and through some biblically catastrophic event manages to win a Super Bowl the man will not just be a coach, he will be A GOD! The people of Buffalo and Bills fans everywhere will throw themselves at his feet and beg to be touched by the hand of God.

All the other cities that are being discussed; Washington, Dallas, Chicago etc all have other **** going on. In Buffalo there is breathing air and the Bills. I'm not even sure if that order is correct, it might be the Bills then breathing. Buffalo is the Bills and a Super Bowl victory is the emotional equivalent of the rapture.

    Can you imagine the parade................

I will be moving to Manchester, England indefinitely early next year. But if the Bills manage to win a superbowl while I'm over there you can bet I'm flying to Buffalo for that party/parade...just think how many Bills fans outside Buffalo will flock up there for that magical experience. All the people who normally open up their homes for parking for the games would find themselves running bed & breakfasts real quick.

  3. we need 3 new linemen on our O line. true, i agree that perhaps just with a solid LT we'd have all the starters we need, but our depth is sht. imo we have about 15-25 good solid football players on our team, but the depth at LB, WR, OL, are all junk. it is worth noting that OL has more players than any other unit on the pitch at once, and LBs and WRs are the foot soldiers of the D and O respectively (with LBs making the majority of tackles and WRs getting the majority of yards and first downs) so the lack of depth there is just destroying us.

I disagree on the WR depth. I think you have to give them an incomplete because they can't be judged fairly or accurately. I actually believe it is still a strength on this team.

  4. And he might the second coming of Hank Bullough.

The only way Fewell gets the HC job is for the Bills to win the remaining games, make the playoffs, and win the SB.

    Other than that:

Shake his hand, give him a hearty pat on the back, and show him the exit.

This entire coaching staff (except for April, MAYBE) needs to go. Period.

I agree that unless he catches fire against some good competition, Fewell isn't my first choice for head coach. But I mean let's be honest here, this is the same bad team that has been playing the games every sunday. They're not going anywhere. So that aside, I guess I could deal with him as a holdover, being the DC next year though I would prefer a defensive philosophy change. Besides April, I would really like to keep DB coach George Catavalos and DL coach Bob Sanders. I think they have shown to be flat out good in Catavalos' case and promising in Sanders'. Everyone else can find jobs elsewhere or, as is often the case with ex-Bills players and coaches, be out of the NFL.

  5. Clausen hands down. But, unfortunately he won't be there unless the Bills trade up. He's gonna go in the top 5 and maybe to Cleveland number 1 overall. I don't know, I guess I'd take Jake Locker. But Clausen is the prospect out of this draft. It's amazing that there are so many bad teams right now that the Bills aren't even gonna get a top 5 draft pick. We could end up in the 8-10 range again even with 4/5 wins. It's unbelievable that the Browns, Lions, Rams and Bucs all have only mustered 1 win. We can't even go down in flames the best.

  6. A safety drafted at #11 should be game changer, top at his position in the league, and at a minimum respected enough to be a Pro Bowler. Donte Whitner is an adequate starter in the NFL and is nowhere close to playing up to his draft expectations.

My problem is more with his mouth than his play. If he is trying to be a team leader he is going about it the wrong way.

I respectfully disagree. I have no issue with how he's going about being a team leader. I don't mind his mouth as he has yet to say anything that offends me. He's not the first guy to predict an outcome of either a game/season and he won't be the last. He said what's true, guys are replaceable and if people aren't getting the job done they should be replaced by someone who will.

  7. If Eric Mangini is the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills, I'm done. Feel free to quote me on that. Not like anyone will care or notice, but I will not be on this message board. I will not be watching the games on tv. I will not be going to the swamp to watch them when they come to NJ. And there will be a glut of Bills paraphernalia showing up on ebay within the week of the announcement.

  8. I like the thinking. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I think if you guys are serious about this you really need to talk with a lawyer and get organized. This could be the type of thing that, if organized and done properly, could be one of the greatest things bills fans have ever done. Hell, why stop there if you get that far. If you're able to corral all the season ticket holders, just go one step further and buy 51% of the team. Maybe Ralph will give you the home team discount to leave a Green Bay-like legacy in Buffalo with him still as a partial owner for the rest of his days... one can dream though...

  9. How do you know that he won't wrangle a thinlet? Is this a quality vs quantity issue?

In probability theory, the law of large numbers (LLN) is a theorem that describes the result of performing the same experiment a large number of times. According to the law, the average of the results obtained from a large number of trials should be close to the expected value, and will tend to become closer as more trials are performed.

Let's say the proportion of thicklets to thinlets in Buffalo is 4:1 (very complex mathematic formulas were used to calculate that ratio). According to the law of large numbers, the result of performing the same experiment (in this case 'let' wrangling) will yield, on average, a 75% chance of your 'let' being the dreaded pelvis-straining thicklet instead of the preferred thinlet or cutlet.

Ipso facto, 'let-wrangling' in Buffalo will net you a thicklet 75% of time, 95% of the time.

  10. I always use hotels.com because if you need to cancel/switch they're good about crediting you back on your card or giving you a credit to use. The Comfort Suites on Allen was pretty cool and they have the suites so that when you wrangle some of Buffalo's finest thicklets back to your place you can each have your own space...and you'll need it....

  11. I'm not sure Fitz did anything today that Trent doesn't do, except for the first pass of the game (i.e., the ball to TO in the middle of the field, which he dropped).

If Fitz can work the middle of the field and throw the ball even in the vicinity of our receivers, I'd start him over TE.

Um...challenge. Did you watch any of the games this season? Fitz at least throws to his wide receivers. Granted some of those throws early didn't look very good, but at least he doesn't check down...every...single....time. Trent does not throw long passes to his receivers or give them a chance to get open, at the first sign of anything he checks down.

  12. Reporter asking Terrell Owens on the decline in his play/production and if he has been played any different this year than in the past, with double teams and rolling coverage to him...

Reporter: Is that different this year, in the way you're being defensed and maybe the frequency that you're seeing those kinds of coverages than before?

Terrell Owens: No, it's ah, again, I've faced a number of coverages throughout my career. You know obviously, with those coverages, you know the coordinators have been able to kind of move me around in the offense, create plays and do things with formations and shifts and things of that nature. And with this offense, it's not like that. So you know, so I understand that. And you just have to go with the plays that are called. And again, you know I put the amount of plays that come my way and I'm not making I have to put that on my shoulders because you know I have to make those plays.

Amazing how, by design, they can not play to their strengths.

  13. Why is it that we have a gutless qb? Even qbs with bad olines still take shots and at least throw to the people on their team playing the position called 'receiver'. I know Sanchez has a much better oline in front of him and an overall better team to lean on, but even Matt Stafford takes shots with a bad line and puts up offensive points. We need another qb and this offense will work or at least move forward. There are too many situations where we need say 15 yards and he throws a 6 yard pass underneath. Did you see that pass from Sanchez to Edwards that was challenged for the td? He didn't have or need that much time, that was 3/4 seconds. Trent gets that amount of time a few times a game and doesn't even come close to looking to make a play like that. So last season it was that the formula for stopping our passing game was too easy to just double Lee and roll a safety his way. Now this year it's that both Lee and Terrell are being doubled? Really? I'm willing to give that little pu$$y the rest of the season to see if he can watch some other teams' qbs and see that they pass to their wide receivers a lot for of obvious reasons. If he shows any signs of testosterone he can be in the discussion for next season. As difficult as it is, I cannot give up on this team even though all signs point to abort. I feel I'd be letting down every die hard fan that died without seeing this team get to the promised land. For Tim Russert I'll stay a Bills fan.

  14. Don't listen to these guys Kenny, there are plenty of smokin' girls in Buffalo...you just need to know where to look.

That said, Sunday night will be tough, but Coles and JP Bullfeathers are your best bet on Elmwood. However, IMO the best option is Allentown--I would check out Sample, Hardware, Mother's, and Colter Bay, always a good range of females, but be prepared to buy plenty of drinks...Buffalo women don't often come cheap.

Thank you, that's what I like to hear. It's not all gloom and doom up in B-lo. I will definitely hit up those bars. Thanks again for the recommendations. Much appreciated!

  15. I do not know what you are expecting. It is a friggin sunday night, & before you start making fun of buffalo's bar scene/night life, my guess is if you go to 99% of cities bar districts on sunday nights, they are probably dead also.

I'm not expecting much, just looking for someplace or area that has the highest chance of running into attractive girls. And your guess would be dead wrong in New York, Chicago, Philly, Miami, LA, San Fran, Atlanta, New Orleans, Asheville, etc. I'm not expecting the Sunday night in Buffalo to be on par with any of those cities but to expect something going on shouldn't be such a crazy idea.

  16. Kenny--Buffalo is not known for their women, so be prepared to be happy talking to meaty 200 pounders with bangs and 80's hairstyles. I would avoid all of the bars near the stadium as you are going to be surrounded by drunk dudes wearing hunting gear, lol. You should likely head downtown, get changed at your hotel and hit the bars on Elmwood near Buffalo State. I'm a graduate and also lived in NYC for 8 years...you will be fine bar hopping those spots and if its weak, you can cab it down to Chippawa again.

Just remember though, a "9" type Buffalo chick is about a 4-5 anywhere else, so if you see anything remotely attractive, lock it down quickly.

I do miss Buffalo, but wow, I now live in San Diego and we are talking night and day my friend. People exercise here, lol.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I have been there before and am not expecting every chick to be a smokeshow, I just wanted to make sure we were at the right place to maximize any talent around. I actually lived in SD for a year, unreal. I think that's the plan though, Buff State bars post-game and hope there's signs of life. Last year we went out on Chippewa later after a 1pm game and it was like a ghost town.

Now onto the game - think we have a chance after what they did to Philly's d yesterday?!? We might need to play lights out d to hold them to 20 points.
