  1. well as long as we're daydreaming here - nothing would make me smile more than marshawn lynch falling to us at 12 and then making a draft day trade of WM to the gmen for their 20 and then taking patrick willis or quinn pitcock or justin blalock

but im sure they'll say something like 'and with the 12th pick in the 2007 draft, the buffalo bills select - someone i never heard of'

  2. you know what, disregard my previous post. i just had an epiphany. the probowl is just like the oscar awards. the actors rarely get recognized when they actually deserve it for a role. they get it afterwards when the academy realizes they screwed up and then give denzel washington the oscar for training day or halle berry for monsters ball when they were clearly better in past roles. all that matters is wins in this game, f the fancy awards.

  3. phil rivers huh? i guess not tom brady nor steve mcnair nor chad pennington. i just dont see it. i had this guy as my fantasy starter (not that that means much) except i saw his performance week in and week out. and honestly, i just thought that this was a bad pick. i even think that david carr outplayed him this year. what exactly did he do? and dont say win games, because his teammates did that. yes he didnt lose games but last time i checked a probowler was someone that made an impact and a difference, not just managed games and handed the ball off to one of if not the best rbs of all time.

next part of my rant is tony romo. what is the infatuation with this annoying looking guy. i think hes a very good qb but ive just heard so much crap about this guy and then he has this horrendous grin on his face everytime i see him and it just bothers me. only one i can come up with that should have made it over him is maybe brett favre or ron mexico, but that might even be a stretch.

i dont know, maybe im just upset about london and lee not making it, but i just read the selections and was unhappy. bad feeling in my stomach. i hope they have it too, because we need that to finish as strong as possible and build on it next year. because if phil f-ing rivers and tony romo can make the probowl then anyone can.

  4. That really is a very good question, SuperBills12. And it is very hard to pin down directly. After all, MM didn't become stupid overnight. He's the same guy that had weathered plenty of adversity in 2004 to keep the ship sailing. And, the same Jerry Gray that was canned after the 2005 season, was the same Jerry Gray who had been the DC for a top 2 defense the previous two seasons. I also don't think that this was entirely lost on Marv and Ralph either, as both wanted MM back for 2006.

I really think that much of it boiled down to MM's inability to see the reality of what was going on right before his eyes. And that starts with the 2004 season, where we started off 0-4 and 1-5 before getting hot and winning 8 of the last 10 games. I think MM saw our strong finish -- the Pittsburgh game not withstanding -- and thought that we would come out of the gates rolling in 2005. The reality is that the ridiculously favorable schedule that we played late in the season played a significant role in what was probably a somewhat inflated record. And chinks in the defense's ability to stop the run were quite apparant in that Pittsburgh fiasco, just as it had been weeks earlier when Corey Dillon ran the ball down the throat of the defense.

Moreover, MM and TD seriously underestimated the importance of Pat Williams to the defense and Drew Bledsoe to the offense. Yes, Drew had his shortcomings, but he was also a calm veteran in whom the rest of the team had great faith. MM probably lost the lockerroom with his decision to hand JP the job without any competition. Realizing this, that's why MM insisted on riding the tail end of the season with Kelly, even though it was in the team's long-term best interests to give JP more playing time. By then it was too late, as MM had essentially already  castrated himself. Moulds and Adams made sure of that.

God knows that we have had inferior teams on the field in terms of talent in the history of our franchise, but the more I hear about what all went on last year both on the field and off, the more I think THAT team was the MOST dysfunctional. From that perspective, I think the fatherly Marv/Dick combo will serve as a nice change of pace.

    great answer

i nominate for best post of the year

  5. I just got out of a room I've been locked in but that is a story for another forum.  Over the last month I've thought a lot about the Bills 2006 season.

I'm pretty bummed out right now because the season isn't getting me pumped like it usually does. I guess it's tough to get excited when you know the Bills are gonna get crushed every week.

It's sad because I don't think the rest of our division is great.  If we made better moves we could take it.  We didn't, so I see:

    Patriots 10-6

    Miami 9-7

    NY Jets 6-10

    Buffalo 2-14

why even post that, so many things wrong with it i wont even say anything
