  1. In a few years I really believe that we're going to be talking about this offseason as the one where we finally got back on track after this wasted decade. I know there's 10 years that say odds are against me/us, but I really feel confident for the first time in a long time. I, like anyone else, probably would not have selected the combo of Nix, Gailey, Whaley, but they're absolutely perfect and proven. I really believe that we will be top notch organization in short order. There's been a lot of bungling done by our past front offices that's been plain to see by anyone. But no one can deny that we've had talented players come and go and continue to be successful elsewhere. We just didn't have the person/group to put all the pieces together right. Now I feel we do.

This is gonna be fun to watch over the next few years. Hopefully this is our decade. So all of you fans out there with a bad taste in your mouth, that love to bash this owner/front office, just remember to be happy when this gets turned around in September. This is going to be a really sweet present from Ralph Wilson - leaving us with another winner. I understand that you have to and will bash until proven wrong, but don't hold on to your bashing ways for too long when it does turn because it's a lot more fun to be happy than to be negative all the time. It takes a lot less energy too...energy that could be used elsewhere..

  2. Sure it makes sense. You grab the best player you can get. In Round 2, there's still a chance you can get a difference maker @ DT. In Round 2, there is little to no chance of getting a so called "franchise QB". There are only 2 guys that even come close to that in Clausen and Bradford, and they'll be long gone by then. In Round 2, the Bills could possibly have a shot @ DTs like Cam Thomas of North Carolina, Terrence Cody of Alabama, and maybe even Dan Williams of Tennessee. If the Bills got any of those guys to anchor the 3-4 front @ the nose, it would be a great pick.

and why are you so sure that "there is little to no chance of getting a so called 'franchise QB'" in the second round? Dan Williams is gone in round 2 and the other two could be good and could not be, just like anyone else.

  3. I'd be more upset if the Bills went after a QB in Round 2 and left one of the DTs, a deeper and far more talented group than the QBs, still on the board.

but that doesn't quite make sense...if the DTs are in fact a more deeper and far more talented group than the QBs then you would want to take a QB before the talent level drops off so severely that he's just a practice squad player. And then you can take a DT from the deeper and far more talented group.

  4. I say screw him. We are dumping our crap (save April) to the Eagles. I love this Billification of the Eagles. Plus I doubt anyone in Buffalo is crying over Bozo the quarterback not wanting to moonwalk into RWS. Dude is a straight clown and he can have fun never winning the SB right alongside us. Only difference is he has to retire one day...

  5. Seems that Cleveland made a tone of moves last year so Mangina could get all of "his" guys in there. A bunch of trades/cuts would probably serve us well.

    Here goes nothing...

Assuming we pick up a stop gap QB [McNabb (long shot) Vick/Cambell] get what you can for Trentative and cut ties with Fitz(don't thik he'll garner much in the way of a trade)...kepp Brohm and draft our future Franchise QB.

Other trade bait could be Lynch (2rd rd pick, at least a 3rd); McGee (mid round pick, maybe another 3rd); Whitner (more like a 4th rd pick).

Entertain these potential UFA's: Willie Parker, Chris Chambers, Casey Hampton & Karlos Dansby

and finally...(ArmChair GM Mock Draft 1.0)

    Rd 1 (9)

Anthony Davis, LT; Rutgers. 6'6" 325lb, multi year starter at left tackle

    Rd 2 (41)

Terrence Cody, DL (NT); Alabama. BEAST of a human being, the guy may be situational, but is a one man run stopping machine. Who else do you know that weighs 370 lb @ 6'4" and can dunk a basketball (testament to his explosiveness)

*(if we get a 2nd rd 2 pick via trade...Jordan Shipley will take the place of Reed, probably a major upgrade)

*I also like Darryl Washington, ILB; TCU. But, he's a bit small for the middle, only around the 240lb range.

    Rd 3

Dan LeFevour, QB; CMU. Prototypical NFL QB size, very mobile...the Tim Tebow of the MAC wih a better arm. Rediculous stats, including a couple/few NCAA records.

*A.J. Edds' stock is rising because of a great showing at the Sr. Bowl. He always seemed to be at the right place at the right time to make a play. Plus, I saw him blow up a couple lineman.

    Rd 4

Ciron Black, OT; LSU. Another monster. 51 consecutive starts, 40 @ LT. They moved him to guard at the Sr. Bowl and he destroyed people. He's also the son of a preacher man & an outstanding team oriented guy.

*Brandon Carter, OG; TX Tech. everything I've seen about this kid is intriguing. 6'5" 325, quick feet, good punch, rediculous athleticism. Knocks are he comes out of the 3 pt stance too low and loses his balnce easily nd tends to lean into 2nd level blocks...very coachable, big upside.

    Rd 5

Freddie Barnes, WR; Bowling Green St. 6' 212 lbs. Solid guy with exceptional hands and is a very crisp route runner. Lacks that flashy speed, but so does a bunch of high profile WR's in the NFL

    Rd6(A)

Myron Rolle, SS; FSU. 6'2" 217lbs. Quick kid with great range...he's also a friggn Rhodes Scholar.

    Rd6(B)

Joique Bell, RB: Wayne State. 5'11" 223lbs. Kids in the top 15-25 in every RB category for NCAA records. Runs low, hard to bring down & above average pass blocker. Sounds like a perfect short yardage/3rd down/goaline back to me. We've had luck with small school rushers, ie. Freddie J.

    Rd7

Aaron Pettrey, K; OSU. Ehhhh, he's a kicker, a pretty good one at that. Gets the ball up and has good accuracy. Practice Squad the kid until Lindel ships out.

    Let the flaming begin... :)

um, i won't take the whole thing but your mock draft is not based in reality. not only will davis not be there when we pick 9, cody wont be there in rd 2 either, maybe lefevour in rd 3 but we'd prob have to take him in the 2nd or if he dropped in the 2nd a trade up would prob be the route to getting him. i'd have no problem with straight cutting whitner, having byrd and wilson/scott and wendling as backups. but i certainly wouldnt want to trade lynch and especially not mcgee.

  6. Unless that was a potential plan all along (to possibly switch to a 3-4). Who knows....

don't be ridiculous. i don't get how ppl actually believe that the bills drafted last year knowing that they were going to fire jauron and retool the front office. it's ridiculous to think that they (even if they wanted to) would have had the foresight to draft for the 3-4 if they didn't even have the foresight to fire jauron before week whatever.

  7. Agreed that clausen is the only rd 1 qb , i would not be happy with bradford at all.

Couldn't disagree more, I would 'take' him if there at 9 but only and only if Sam Bradford and Rolando McClain are off the board. Bradford is the guy at QB. He is the best QB in this class and someone that Tha Chan could build around. Yes the shoulder, but I think they were two separate freak injuries. He's 6'5'' and can read defenses. I want the QB that has a nickname like Matty Ice or something, NOT the one with all the tangibles. There is just something JP Losman-esque about Jimmy Clausen - and I'm talking solely about his leadership qualities. He was the biggest high school recruit and proclaimed he'd bring ND football back. Obviously did not happen and he did put up good numbers but I just get the feeling that he's gonna flame out in the NFL.

  8. Chan and Buddy have no coherent plan except to say their were so many people interested and to bash the Raiders. Chan doesn't have a clue. I'm guessing coordinators don't want to be here either - just like head coaches. UB probably has a staff they could pilfer.

    dude, you suck

  9. Sometimes it's about coaching demeanor. My worry with Frazier is that on the surface he appears to be that of the quiet and stoic variety. Kind of in the Tony Dungy, Dick Jauron mold. Schottenheimer looks like he has more of a commanding, take charge demeanor. That is a BIG part of this decision. The Bills can not afford to hire another guy that will just stand there looking stearn and stoic. The more I think about it, the more I like Schottenheimer more than Frazier for that reason alone.

The added plus is that Schottenheimer is an AFC guy. Not only an AFC guy but an AFC East guy! Frazier has little clue about the AFC East and I don't want him to have to take a year to learn the best approach to beat the other players and teams.

So you want someone based on their demeanor and not ability to be a leader and teacher? Who would command more respect out of these two:

34 year old son of a coach OC

    or

50 year old ex-championship Bears football player DC?

I think even if Frazier has a seemingly stoic demeanor, what will make the next HC succesful or not is the staff he's able to put together. Now again, who of the two would you think could put together a better staff???

  10. I just don't understand how anyone could want Schottenheimer. He's got one of the best olines in the league so they have the number 1 rushing attack. That's not his ingenuity, just better OL than the opponent's DL. Also, part of that reason for that is because they have the 31st pass o in the league and cannot throw. If I'm hiring a coordinator, I want one of the best. Not half of a coordinator. Their pass o wasn't special last year and was bad two years ago. He's really young and seems talented, but as a coordinator. I don't think he has the skill or experience needed (life or football) to be the head guy. Not only that, we don't need just anyone qualified to be a HC - if so I'd take Perry Fewell over him. We need a great HC to turn around a bad franchise. Very different than a respectable club looking for some new blood. I like Frazier a lot. He's my early favorite, but I'm a tiny bit worried about his defensive philosophy. But if he were willing to switch schemes, knowing the climate and conference then I'd give him the reins.
