Stay Patient, Stay Rational, Stay the Course
I 90 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike Mullarky didn't seem to think so. Jauron has been around long enough to know that this game against New England is the only thing on the horizon that he need care about. We as fans should commit as fully to the concept of winning as the team does. -
Beautiful. Another rebuilding thread. No team in this league is three years away. None. Teams that think themselves three years away WILL NEVER ARRIVE. We know who these teams are and have been. The Bills are not one of them.
-
I am saying that football trades are pretty rare. The one deal you make is at a position that nobody (here) thinks is a need. Maybe Tim Anderson isn't the only reason the Bills are weak against the run. Maybe Marv thinks that 3 useful DE's don't add up to a single difference maker at a position that can wreck an opposing offense. Maybe its goodbye mediocrity one area at a time. Food for thought, anyway.

Not they, but he... Wang didn't get rich by accident. Insurance, Reinsurance... he has layed off as much of the risk as humanly possible. And the freakin' NHL let the Devils get out from under the Mogilny contract, allowing them to field a decent team this year. The hard cap isn't so hard to beat. .
-
Now there is a dangerous line of thinking. Are we going anywhere this year ? How about next year ? I choose to believe that J.P. is going to show us something special this week. This year is important. I am not signing up for the Supreme Soviet five year plan that delivers the new 2008 coaching staff a quality quarterback. NHL thinking should be in the minority here.

Anthony Hargrove, plain and simple. Even if he is only a modest upgrade it shows the team's dissatisfaction at the position. I wouldn't get used to any of these DE's.
-
It is cap friendly for the foreseeable future -- the only risk is for the super rich Wang. It looks like the NHL is allowing questionable injury buy outs so in the long run it is probably pretty safe as well. It looks more like an NFL contract than anything else. .

Same era had Meg Ryan on As The World Turns. Your shame is my shame. .

Wesley Snipes indicted for $12 M fraud
I 90 replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Are they sure he had income between 1999 and 2004 ? Wesley shouldna' skipped the Major League sequel, maybe... . -
Bizarre. Gandy looks like he belongs in the mix with Villarial and Reyes at the very least. 900 snaps for the Bills at left tackle makes him insurance at the position as the team (hopefully) goes forward. Yes, he was awful against the Lions on the turf. He will be forgiven if he performs well on the Ralph grass this weekend. Get used to the Gandy Man.

This weekend. Home game against a good opponent. Feeling the heat after two very different road losses. Seeing Leinart and Young join the Grossman, Rothlisbrg, Rivers hot young quarterback club. He is a bright kid. I judge him this week. .

That is not a documentary style that I am used to -- it is very, uh, manipulative ... ? I do like the way it works in a television drama. Book and movie are on the list. I have been brushing up against the FNL phenomenon for nearly fifteen years on my travels around Texas (saw a game in Donna, near Harlingen) but West Texas seems a different animal. Thanks for the internet tip. Currently handicapped by dial-up but that MUST change. Chandler is a local ? I watched his old show with the "early" paper and really thought he was going places. Figures an iconic everyman would be a Buffalonian. .

Anybody watching this ? Didn't read the book, haven't watched the movie, but the television series has caught my eye. I can't place the style. It is mostly shot in handheld camera at odd angles (eg. behind plants, from the hip, unusual distances, too close closeups...) giving it a dreamy quality. Strange choice for a football series, IMO. Does this come from the new "youth" shows that I can barely name that show on the MTV or WB/UPN ? I don't usually have much time for fictional sports shows (who really needs them when the Mike Gandy show runs weekly), but I regret having to miss the third episode of FNL tonight. .

K Fed did a craptacular turn on CSI (Las Vegas) last week as a violent street kid . I have seen about as much of this "performer" as I need to. .
-
Who spends any money on their Offensive Line in this league ? I mean, the Vikings signed Hutchinson and we BEAT them. Guys like Tubby Williams and Jonas Jennings turn out to be junk at any price. C'mon, fall back in love with the elephantine ballet that is the Bills O-line. Never a dull moment. .
-
The Gandy Man has has survived at left tackle for what, 20 games ? Get used to the idea that "it was just one of those games" or it will be a long season. Late second day draft picks would not be an upgrade. .
-
Commitment to the run is just commitment to the PUNT in this league. Nobody runs consistently against decent teams. And Willis leading the league in rushing is not using him properly. He is not EARL CAMPBELL, he is a multi-purpose weapon. Get the poor man into space... the Pats freakin' third RB beat us on a deep pass in week one. Some Jones or other made a huge one on one play yesterday. This "grind it out" nonsense is a dog that will not hunt. IMAGINATION, people...
-
Masochism ? Better to start riding rolly-coasters or hitting oneself in the head with a hammer, maybe. .
-
Hey, that's not very nice... Glad that the Leafs went goofy for your sake IB, always good to be entertained. .
-
The glass is ONLY half full... or empty. That cliche has never been much of an encouragement. Jauron coached this Lion team, Fairchild knows this Martz fellow pretty well, they're injured...blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately this Bills team has a style of play that keeps the game CLOSE when it works. It should work against the depleted Lions, but it's a high wire act just the same.

Chances of TV coming back to coach
I 90 replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TV is not a guy to make a false step. It looked like he was angling to help someone win now, from the very beginning of this (unusual) IR stint. He very much looks like a player for a number of years to come. . -
In honor of our upcoming game vs. Detroit

Does the phrase "shoot themselves in the foot" return ? Or "decapitation of the monsterous head" ? It is tough to sneak back without some tells. . -
What do you think is the best movie trilogy ever?
I 90 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Ai carumba ! David Lynch appears to be completing his split identities trilogy (Lost Highway, Mullholland Drive) with Inland Empire. The teaser, if you need it... . -
The bears game doesn't really mean much
I 90 replied to HudsonValleyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both of you -- cut it out with the voodoo. Of course it's a gut check. Are the Lions going to go winless ? If not, who are they likely to beat if not a recently thumped Bills team at home ? And road to recovery ? The Lions are not a rehab facility they are a professional football team. This is going to be a VERY BIG WIN in what is likely to be a very difficult game. . -
Can can beer ? Is that what the kids are calling (something) nowadays ? .
