This Dolphins team has to go down as one of the worst collapses in NFL history. And it’s awesome. Can’t wait to peruse finheaven post game.

They sucked all year 10 of their 11 wins were against teams that had records in the bottom 13.

Not a collapse, just frauds beating up on the NFL's whipping boys.

Sorry, gonna have to disagree with you on that. Watson has ruined their future both in terms of the draft and their cap.

He hasn't ruined them that bad, they won 11 games in year 2 of the trade and should be even better next year with Watson back.  Meanwhile, Carolina is in big trouble if Bryce Young has to be replaced.  They might be in last place in the NFC south for years.

I think when you factor in the ridiculous and destructive contract for Watson, the award has to go to that trade.

It depends on whether Young busts or turns things around.  If he busts, combined with Stroud being the franchise in Houston, the trade will have set Carolina back much further than  Watson set Cleveland back.

This Browns/Watson trade is arguably the worst in history, even worse than the Herschell Walker trade

Carolina says hold my beer on the trade for the #1 pick last year especially taking Young over Stroud with the pick.

    No. 1: Chicago → Carolina (PD). Chicago traded a first-round selection (1st) to Carolina in exchange for WR D. J. Moore, first- and second-round selections (9th and 61st), 2024 first-round (1st overall) and 2025 second-round selections.[Trade 1]

Found an old NFL article ranking them....

    1.)  Anthony Lynn

    2.)  Sean McVay

    3.)  Vance Joseph

    4.)  Kyle Shanahan

    5.)  Doug Marrone

6.)  Sean McDermott - It's unfair to rank McDermott this low, but someone has to bring up the rear. McDermott is well respected throughout the NFL, but he has the fewest tangible assets and perhaps the most difficult job of the new coaches.

The Bills have high expectations and a flawed roster. The organization also has an entrenched GM in Doug Whaley who hasn't shown a great aptitude for finding talent. McDermott made his name as a defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers under a defensive-minded head coach in Ron Rivera, so it's difficult to tease out what his impact was. The Panthers' defense wasn't exactly a shutdown unit in his tenure, despite being well-coached. McDermott has been a defensive coordinator the last eight seasons between his time in Philadelphia and Carolina. Those defenses ranked in the top 10 in points allowed twice.

McDermott's offensive coordinator will be former Broncos OC Rick Dennison, a coach who was attached at the hip to Gary Kubiak for most of the last two decades. The Bills will likely be breaking in a new quarterback, one of many challenges for Dennison in the role. Perhaps McDermott and Dennison are NFL lifers who just needed this chance to show their value. They will have to be exceptional to excel in Buffalo, where they face an uphill task.

This showed that Rosenthal knew nothing about the Bills situation.  At that point Whaley had been muted by the Pegulas.  Hardly entrenched, as we soon found out as soon as the draft was done.

I hadn't thought about it, but the Panthers job is about as undesirable of an NFL head coaching gig as there's ever been in the league.

    - #1 overall pick QB who is way undersized and utterly terrible as a rookie.

    - No first round pick this year, plus other pick traded away.

    - Not much talent anywhere on the roster. No FAs are coming there.

    - The last head coach was fired a few games into his tenure.

Surely somebody will take it, but Damn.

Maybe David Culley has the itch to coach again.

I don’t disagree with most of this. But the bold is just comically wrong. Elam can easily be labeled a bust. You don’t draft a CB in the first round and expect him to be inactive every game and roasted when he is active. Elam is absolutely a bust.

He was inactive due to an undisclosed injury.  If he had spent the whole season on IR, would you still be considering him a bust, or would you be willing to give him one more chance?

I'm in the wait & see corner.  However, if Beane trades him in the offseason, then I can move him into the bust column.  Otherwise, I'm willing to see what he does next year.  No matter what, he is unlikely to open next season as a starter because Benford, Douglas and possibly Tre are ahead of him on the depth chart.  I think if Tre is back at 100%, Elam will be gone, but that's a big if.

As much as we like many of the guys we have drafted, most of them just add to the depth of the team which is strong I might add. We need a couple legit home runs. A couple josh Allen's at different positions.

It's a lot harder hitting homeruns with playoff draft slots.  The homeruns, on a % basis, are mostly top 10 picks.  Remember when Cincy beat us last year & everyone was pointing to their draft pick homeruns Burrow & Chase who were top pick & top 5 pick.

    7. Bill Belichick
    8. Dennis Allen
    9. Robert Saleh
    10. Mike Tomlin
    11. Todd Bowles

Yep, I missed Gannon, but Steichen has always been offense.  I thought Harbaugh was Special Teams, but since he was a defensive assistant at times and in his final year before getting the Ravens job, I'll concede that one too.  So 2/3.

  10. I've gone on Rally Bus for 2 horse racing events:

Kentucky Derby from Indianapolis in 2014 & the Belmont Stakes from Manhattan in 2015.

As long as the trip is confirmed, you shouldn't have a problem. The trips went flawlessly, but I've never encountered bad weather so I don't know what they would do if the driving got tough.

I also booked an unconfirmed trip from San Francisco to Super Bowl 50 and they didn't get enough people & cancelled it before the game.  We ended up driving to a rail station in Fremont where they had busses to the game & back for $20.

I like baseball where the manager is in the same uniform as the players.

I'd like to see McDermott clapping on the sidelines in full uniform, shoulder pads included, and a helmet on.

I should have said "one of the last" lol.   After Carroll, Vrabel, Staley, Hoodie?...it's getting to be a restricted club.

I counted 9, assuming Pierce gets the Raiders job and Belichick coaches next season somewhere. That's hardly a restricted club.

There's still a lot of head coaches with defensive backgrounds and likely another 1 or 2 added to the list this offseason. It's currently 11 defense and 14 offense and seems like a near certainty Dan Quinn will be taking one of the vacancies.

Who are the 2 I missed?

  13. 3 minutes ago, zow2 said:

Pete Carroll reportedly getting blown out at Seattle.  They are moving on.  McDermott will be the last of the defensive background head coaches.

Coach of the year candidate Demeco Ryans.

Robert Saleh, Mike Tomlin, Antonio Pierce, Matt Eberflus, Dennis Allen, Todd Bowles, and until notified otherwise BILL BELICHICK.
