I'll bet if it was either of those 2 in the position of that guy coming up to threaten them & their family members such as their children (if they have any) they would be praising the US Marine for standing up for them . YAH THINK ??

This is a case of what is appropriate use of deadly force. I don’t think the marine would face any charges if he used force and didn’t kill the guy. This is all a gray area and a slippery slope. In general, most people would have no problem if someone used the minimum force necessary to restrain the offender. Stupid people shouting threats like this happens every day. If a drunk idiot/mentally stressed person starts screaming threats at people, would that justify killing them? When is the answer yes and when is it no?

  2. From a legal standpoint this is an interesting case. It will involve the decision of what is a reasonable and prudent use of force in response to verbal threats. The marine was probably trained in the use of lethal force and probably understood the outcome of maintaining a chokehold on someone. Neely didn’t appear to be a physically imposing person. The subway is a constrained space magnifying the threat level since people cannot distance themselves from him.

You have to come back with something that stupid to make it seem like you are reasonable? Does the whole video seem indiscriminate to you?

The only video I’ve seen is one guy choking another guy on the ground. Apparently witnesses say the black guy was threatening others with his speech. Is there video of what happened before the choking took place? I’m not claiming to know anything about this incident. That’s why I’m saying let the legal process proceed.

@redtail hawk and @Andy1 why do you think someone has the right to threaten people in a public place with physical harm? And if you don't believe that what should the Marine have done in that situation?

I don’t believe that. If he is innocent, I have faith in our court system to determine that. Let the process play out. Do you believe people can kill others indiscriminately?

  5. Nothing new… lies lies and more lies.

I don’t understand why R voters believe this compulsive psychopathic liar. There are so many other sane republicans who could lead the party towards a new vision for the future. Instead it’s obsession over revisionist history from a delusional fat guy.

It all started in 1963 it was the first big step towards today living life with out rules or a moral compass . Karma played a large part in the story of Madalyn Murry O'hair very interesting biography to read .

I know we are all different in our thoughts & beliefs but we need to have some kind of base or foundation of beliefs & if the foundation is taken away it's inevitable that there will be a shift in the foundation because there is nothing to stand on .

Todays world seems IMHO to want a no rules approach & only have the rules they deem good for them hence the defund the police movement & criminals having more rights than those upholding the laws put in place to try to keep us all safe . In scripture which a lot of people today don't care about in the least it tells of times like this being exactly backwards .

Isaiah - 5 - Woe to them that call evil good, & good evil, that put darkness for light, light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, & sweet for bitter .

Religion is certainly less relevant to most people than years ago. There are a lot of reasons I think including money scamming preachers living millionaire lifestyles and    the massive sex abuse scandals in the Catholic and Southern Baptist churches. Maybe the press has just exposed these church scandals where in the old times, no one dared to question religious authority figures.

Here is an interesting graphic showing that religion is still much more important to Americans than Europeans.

If Demented Biden and his lame ass buddies were not in office - no war, no deaths, no destruction, no money wasted.  It's that simple.

Russia did not invade because of Biden. Putin has had his eyes on Ukraine for a long time. While people here won’t say they support Putin, if Trump were in office, Putin would own Ukraine now. Biden organized the allied opposition to the war crimes of Putin.

  8. This is an added bonus.

Ukraine has Europe's third largest shale gas reserves, at 1.2 trillion cubic meters (tcm).[22]

There are two potentially large shale gas fields.[22] The Yuzivska gas field located in Donetsk Oblastand Kharkiv Oblast, and the Olesska gas field in Lviv Oblast and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

  9. So for all the people who say we need more good guys with guns, why isn’t Texas one of the safest states? Presumably there were armed people in the mall where the shooting happened. That didn’t stop it from happening. 8 dead, 3 in critical condition. Think of how many people were impacted/ traumatized beyond those dead or injured. More guns = more bloodshed.

High school sports proficiency is more valued than academic achievement in many places as is social standing. It’s a societal problem and parents are sometimes to blame. No doubt many schools are lacking too.

    100% agree.

Everyone just sounds so trustworthy - especially the “top” people in these fields

I still don’t understand the whole mask conspiracy.

Yes, the messaging on masks was inconsistent. When the pandemic first spiked, there was a mask shortage. Hospital workers were reusing masks because hospitals couldn’t find them to buy on the market. Officials were not urging people to wear masks because they wanted to reserve them for high risk hospital workers. Later, as the worldwide supply of masks increased, they urged people to wear masks to reduce transmission. The pandemic also hit in waves. When community incidence was high, people needed to wear masks. When it waned, masks were not needed as much. This was a once in a lifetime event. Of course messaging from health officials working in a political world would be inconsistent at times as the government navigated through the mess. Through it all, hospitals and medical staff never changed their opinion on the effectiveness of masks.

So people can believe the consensus of the worldwide medical community on masks or some twitter head putting together video clips and factoids dredged from the internet. Remember, Trump also said injecting disinfectants could get rid of Covid. And some idiots actually did that to themselves!

I don’t think most of them truly believe it. Just an excuse to legitimize their support of someone they falsely believe will improve their situation. They actually believe that part cuz they’ve got nothing without it

I wonder the same… or if they feel they have to say it because it’s the party line and those who do not talk the party line are ostracized from their group (cult). “Believing it”, even when they know it’s false, allows them to rationalize J6 and everything else. It would make an interesting psychology study.
