  1. My thinking is based more on how this game sets up, as opposed to the difference in our coordinaters. IMO the Bills should be able to limit Jax offensively, due to the strength of our D and the issues that they have on their O-line and IMO suspect WR's. Offensively I expect us to stay conservative and try to establish the run game, while not putting Jax's D in a position to put points on the board.
  2. I expect this game to be a field position battle with both teams struggling to move the ball. I look for Buffalo to come out very conservatively on Offense, trying to grind out yards and wear down Jax's D, while limiting mistakes. Jax's make shift O=line will struggle, while ours will wear down Jax's D line allowing us to run the ball more effectively in the 2nd half. Prediction Bills 23 Jax 10. So shall it be written, so shall it be done!
  3. One of the things that was so frustrating with the hold out was the lack of communication. That neither side fought this out through the media will turn out to be extremely important in the long run. As long as we get off to a good start the hold out will be mostly forgotten before mid-season.
  4. Even after we Wax Jax I wouldn't expect to see significant props from the national media. If the Jets beat the Patsies all the props will go to Farve and how he's single handedly ressurected a dead franchise. If the Pats win it'll be all about how great Bellacheat is and how well they work through adversity. I will give props to Bill Cowher. I was shocked to here him say during the post game wrap up, after we won and the Pats lost Brady, that he thought Buffalo was going to be the team to beat in the AFC. It was great watching the other analysts glare at him with looks on their collective faces like you're out of your mind and shut up.
  5. I completely agree. In Pollard's case this was nothing more than a football play. It didn't appear he had any intent to injure. And in my best Carl Spackler (Bill Murray-Caddyshack) voice I must say "I have to laugh"!!
  6. I'd like to see the amount of the fine be tied to how ready he really is to play. If he steps right in and doesn't miss a beat, then I'd be OK if they cut him a little slack. Whatever happens I say no less than one game check in fines. The amount needs to be sizeable enough to act as a deterrent for others not to do the same thing next season.
  7. ...what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
  8. I've tried those before but they're all made too small for me. That's because you've got it on backwards! It's not an eye patch.
  9. Alexander wouldn't be an upgrade over Lynch, but he's better than Jackson and that was the point of the original post.
  10. I lost many a brain cell there, thanks to those $2 pitchers of Ice Picks. I had some grat times there. I think I actually cried when Jewish lightening hit. But now it's time for ......... FREDDY's SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. You're aiming too high to expect a 1st rd pick for a receiver that's being franchised. I realize that 5 years ago it worked with PP. However, I think the GM's in the league have become more savvy when encountering this type of situation. You'd be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him. IMO
  12. I'd be happy to aid the cause and make mine available!
  13. I agree with your thought process. However, the only way I see Dallas part with both #1's is to get McFadden. Jerry Jones is a former Arkansas alum and the word here is he's very high on McFadden. Unfortunately I don't see any way he slips all the way to us at 11. If this were to happen I would love to see us go best CB then WR in the 1st.
  14. I strongly feel that WR is a need for us. That said, it's also one of the deepest positions in the draft. I lwouldn't be surprised if Buffalo tries to fill another skill position with their 1st round pick CB and take a receiver in the second.
  15. I keep hearing on all the sports talk radio shows that there's no way Detroit can go with another WR in the 1st round. Not after Rodgers, Roy and Mike Williams. Too bad because it looks like the top player in the draft is going to fall in their lap (Calvin Johnson) and they'll pass on him. Johnson appears to be the one can't miss player in the draft. If Detroit's going to pass on him they'd be smart to trade down and pick up a few picks for their trouble. Of course this is the Lions we're talking about, so you know that's not going to happen.
  16. Alright, this thought is a little out there, but it makes some sense. Washington has very few picks in the draft and would like to accumulate more. Detroit has a hole at RB with the injury to Kevin Jones. Washington has Betts and Portis. What are the chances that they trade Portis and their first for Detroits 1st and I don't know 3rd or 4th. I could see Washington selecting Calvin Johnson. This would also fill Detroits RB need and still leave them with an early 1st round choice to fill another need, maybe Quinn. I think Quinn or Adams would still be there at 6. Just a thought.
  17. I live in Dallas and this hasn't even been mentioned on any of the local sports talk radio stations. Jones is a decent back, but I agree with some of the criticism others have mentioned regarding him. I wouldn't want to give up more than 1 of our 3rds for him. IMO it's unlikely that Dallas would settle for that little. If not I'd rather see us take a back with our 2nd pick, unless AP happens to slide to us at 12 (and that's just not going to happen).
  18. Uhmmm...dude it's a home game. Did you think they were going to play this one in Toronto?
  19. But that never happens in Buffalo, right??? And the Bills select ... Donte Whitner.
  20. I totally agree. I think AJ wants to keep him around for insurance this year, because they are close to winning it all. If someone wants to overpay then of course they'd be willing to make the deal. (Personally I feel overpaying would be anything earlier than a 3rd.) I'd also expect to see SD pick up a back in the draft that they can groom as LT's back up for '08 and watch Turner leave as a free agent next year.
  21. I sent the plane because we were out of grey pupon and AJ knew of a speciality shop that carried it there in SD. Turner was nothing more than a delivery boy. I'd be willing to keep him around, for a 3rd rounder and a cash to cap friendly contract extension. Otherwise we'll grab a RB in the 2nd. Signed, Ralph
  22. As long as multiple teams are interested in Turner, AJ will continue to hold that line. But as you can see no one has jumped on that deal and no one will. When all is said and done I think he'll stay in SD and end up a free agent next year, unless AJ agrees to move him for a 3rd and a day 2 pick next year. The cost of a 1st or even a 2nd is just too high with the quality backs available and the cap cost of the contract MT will demand. Best of luck in '07
