What is the obvioius "pass down" situations against a team like New England? They will throw on 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd down. So I guess you have to play him the whole game. I think if Maybin is in there and you get some push up front in the middle we will be okay. But will he be and how often?

I believe the Pats are going to a 4-3 and this was part of the reason for trading Seymour. They may have a mix of both, but they would be remiss in not using the 3-4 against us at least at some level given our inability to do anything against a 3-4.

There have been several agents of other players who say that the Bill's organization is doing the right thing and I have to agree. You set a prescedent for other players not only on your team but for players on other teams as well. Even the agents who would side with Parker, being in the same fraternity, are saying this. The Bill's organization isn't saying they won't negotiate with Peters for a new contract. In fact they will. They just want him with the team before this happens. Besides they have other pressing issues such as Lee Evans and Angelo Crowell.

Many people have Troy Smith going in the mid first round, but I would have to disagree. I really think that the Raiders will end up taking him because he is an Al Davis/Art Shell kind of player. The Raiders may end up taking Brady Quinn, but Troy Smith would be my bet here. Personally I would like the Bills to take someone like Joe Thomas from Wisconsin- that is if we don't slide down in the first round. Here's hoping that we don't.

First off I wasn't saying that Gandy would replace Villarial at LG. I was simply saying this would be a good move. I think I mentioned the position by committee later in my previous post. I realize that this is an entire shuffle for the most part. As far as my second point was concerned "My Bad"... McGinnest is in Cleveland; I meant Richard Seymour, but the point was the pros and cons of starting a young Aaron Merz and getting beaten by a stud are going to happen. Anyway I still love the moves.

I like the moves made to the offensive line. We already know what we have in Peters playing RT so why not try and see if he can handle the left side? The biggest difference will be the footwork playing on the left side. Gandy moving back to his more natural position, guard, will allow the staff to see if he still has what it takes to be a player on our line. I would say with this we need to give him the entire 9 games remaining to see if Peters and Gandy can form the necessary cohesiveness to do well together. I feel fairly comfortable with Fowler playing center. He certainly is no Kent Hull, BUT as far as changes go, this is by no means the most pressing need on the line. Putting Pennington out at RT seems to be a sound option given what we have at the present time. The coaching staff will have the remainder of the season to see what they have in him and evaluate need in this next draft. Again, the cohesiveness is what takes time to develop and giving him his "audition" to earn a spot when the real bullets are flying is something that I can live with. This leaves the LG position currently manned by Villarial. It appears that he is susceptible to injury at this point in his career and so the turnstile of Preston and Merz seems to be in order here. Even though this may sound more like LG by committee, it is what we are at this point. In essence what is happening is that we are replacing Reyes with Pennington, even though the positions are different, but we are moving Gandy to his so called natural position. Two very noticeable observations about Merz in Sunday's game vs. Patriots::: 1. He made a very nice seal-block around the right side that helped spring McGahee on his long shuffle pass run. 2. He whiffed on a block where McGinnest got to JP and recorded a sack at a very inopportune time. This is what you will get with a rookie- it's part of the growing pains that teams must go through when they are trying to develop an offensive line. If these moves don't work we may have to consider trying to draft Joe Thomas from Wisconsin at LT and move Jason Peters back to the right side. Here again it will still take time to develop the continuity. I still believe that if D'Brickashaw had been there at #8 we would have taken him, but I'm not displeased with Donte. The offensive line will be the focus in this next offseason if we have been listening to what Marv has been saying.

#83=Greatness. We just need the high character guys making blocks down the field like you see in so many of those highlights. Andre was just awesome. When you see him on Cold Pizza he still looks like he could play. Maybe with Marv coming back and the Bills looking at high character players we might be fortunate enough to see some of that this season.

I'm not willing to take that chance as DT is a position of greater depth in this year's draft. This was a wise choice given that Huff was taken at #7. We really don't have a starter at SS and now we will. Whittner would not have been there even if we had only traded down a few spots. It does make me wonder had the Raiders not taken Huff, would we have? Next we need to go either defensive tackle or one of the 3 OG. We need to wait to grade day 1 of the draft at its conclusion.

Also does the name Antoine Winfield sound familiar? I was shocked that he was chosen at this spot but certainly a position of need. He may turn out to be a great pick, only time will tell. I have seen others say that he was as much a player on the Ohio St. defense as AJ Hawk. He most certainly fills a position of need and in the cover2 will do well.

I like Huff in Round 1, but I would opt for Max Jean-Gilles in round 2 if he is still on the board. I feel that our interior of our offensive line is where our weakness is. Gandy is serviceable and I think Peters is really going to turn out fine. Also like others have mentioned, Bunkley was not seen in round 1, probably an oversight.

Actually we would have had the third pick of the draft due to the tiebreakers.

One of the real unknowns here is Gibson. When players are given a second chance they sometimes make the most of it. I find it very interesting that he had his best season under Jauron in Chicago. This is truly a wildcard signing. Having said this I still believe that we need one or two decent picks on the offensive line early on in the draft. Like most people will tell you it all starts up front (OL and DL).

Actually opening in New England may not be the worst thing. This allows us to at least put extra preparation into this game. I'm not saying that New England won't do the same, but they may overlook us slightly. The thing I do like about our schedule is the 2nd half of the season, especially Miami in December.

They will pick up an OL in the draft with their picks other than Bush of course at #1. My concern for the Bills is who will emerge as the #2 receiver for the Bills? Will it be Andre Davis? Josh Reed? (wasn't easy for him the first time) All I can say is that we better "Circle the wagons" and really be prepared for this draft to try and fill as many needs as we can.
