Prisco's take on Peters
billsfaningeneseo replied to Jack D. Ripper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or maybe because Schobel had I think 6 seasons under his belt at the time and was consistently productive in all of them. Peters has less than 1 as a LT. Had he played this year without any of this hold out, I have no doubt he would have been handsomely rewarded next offseason. The Bills simply wanted to make sure they didn't have a 1 year wonder, and also make sure Peters was completely recovered from his injury. Two perfectly valid things. -
What McKelvin Does For McGee
billsfaningeneseo replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would almost rather have McKelvin hold off on the return stuff and focus entirely on being a Number 1 CB for us. The faster he learns the scheme, and the more practice he gets there, the better we will be in the future. Does anyone think he would be that much of an improvement over McGee in returns to justify him not focusing on his job as CB? Now, as for putting them both back there......interesting idea. But I would still prefer he spends ALL his time learning CB. Next year, once he has that going, or even later in the year, then start working him into return duties. -
With Roscoe and McGee still on the team, I would rather McKelvin spend all his time learning CB rather than dealing with special teams right now. I don't think he would be that much of an improvement over either of our current starters that would level out the extra time he could spend looking at film and doing CB drills (Like learning how to catch interceptions... )

4th Round Selection 2: Derek Fine TE Kansas
billsfaningeneseo replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to laugh at most of this. "Our TE was still there" Who is this our?? The fans who are FANS and not in the NFL draft room, who have been looking at film, interviewing, etc. Why o why do fans believe every year that the names they have heard of and put on their draft boards are the players we need?? Talk about armchair quarterbacks...there is a reason we are all fans and not employees of the Bills. Be happy, we have new players for the team we love. Until they actually get on the field, who the hell knows how any of them will turn out. -

We get our choice -
i agree this is a need. You always need 3 corners around, and now we have them in McKelvin, Greer, and McGee. There hasn't been a WR taken yet, so there is a good chance one will be left at the Bills pick in the 2nd, or at least late in the 1st where we won't have to give up much to move up. I like the pick, take a WR with the 2nd, and its a good first day.

We got another home monday nighter!!!
billsfaningeneseo replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Holy crap that should be a good game with a great atmosphere. The bills should be pissed at the Browns for last season, and Browns fans can actually make it to the game without too much problem. WOOHOO -

There will probably be a double toe loop coming out today, possibly followed by a triple axle. Reading WAAAY too much into this. -

Whitner on Cold Pizza
billsfaningeneseo replied to billsfaningeneseo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Somehow, I doubt it.... -
Whitner was just on Cold Pizza (bout 1:30) talking about the draft. Mentioned that his advice to draftees this year was not to listen to the experts, bc if a team loves you, they will take you. Mentioned that he was talking with both Arizona and Detroit, so there was a good chance that he would have been gone had we tried to move down. Said he learned a lot from the veterans last year (Vincent, Fletcher and Clements) and that the coaches are going to expect him to be more of a leader and make more calls on the field this coming year. Good interview.

Bills 1st round draft pick from 34 sites
billsfaningeneseo replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see us taking a DE with the first or even second pick considering we just paid out money to keep Kelsey around. -
These Are The Urgent Needs
billsfaningeneseo replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you Bills Fan. I would love to bring in Harper from Indy, resign A-Train, then figure out how to get Lynch and Willis (or depending on if they want Crowell in the middle, Timmons/guy from Penn I can't spell), followed by a CB/DT. -
Damn 3rd rounders
billsfaningeneseo replied to willis da illest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, just going on last years draft where STARTER Simpson in the 4th, and potential STARTER in the 3rd Youbuty were picked up, I would say the later round picks can certainly be helpful. Also, I would not be suprised to see the bills take Lynch at 12, then trade back into the bottom of the first with that extra 3rd to take Timmons/Puz if they fall -
Major problem with that draft, assuming that we don't pick up anyone else in FA. I would much rather take a LB with our first pick than a Tight End, considering that with Spikes gone we have Crowell, Ellison, and ??
-
Spikes and a second rd. pick sounds like a pretty decent trade to me
