The Compelling Case for Mike Leach as Head Coach
Max997 replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no Compelling Case for Mike Leach as Head Coach and to suggest it is just stupid -
hopefully we've seen the last of him in a Bills uniform
-
you really dont know what you are talking about

How exactly was Indy a rebuilding project when they already had Peyton, Marvin Harrison and Edge in place and were a playoff team in 99 and 2000? Although Wyche had 4 straight losing seasons in Tampa they added a lot of talent during his time like Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp and John Lynch so they certainly were not a rebuilding project either and were heading in the right direction The fact is Dungy didnt play a big role in rebuilding either team and certainly didnt win as much as he should have with either team considering the talent he had on both I'll take a pass on the very overrated Dungy

HASN'T WORKED BEFORE AND IT WON'T WORK NOW
Max997 replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
its easy to point out the failures when it doesnt work but you didnt even do that Holmgren took the Seahawks to the Super Bowl and Parcells took a bad Jets team and turned them into a playoff contender...and what about Belechick? how long has he been doing it in New England? what about Andy Reid in Philly? they have been competitive for how many years making what, 6 conference championship games -
You have one choice for Gm and one choice for HC

Floyd Reese for GM and Marty Schottenheimer for head coach -
Schein Blaming TO for Jauron firing
Max997 replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i used to think Schein was ok until him and Pat Kirwan both said the day it was announced that bringing Jauron back was the absolute right decision and anyone calling for his head didnt understand the game...are you kidding me they constantly said Jauron was a nice guy and that his players liked him but never talked about the most important part of being a head coach...winning Schein just annoys me to no end now and to say Jauron was fired bc of TO's rant on sunday is comical....how about the fact that Jauron was heading towards a 4th straight losing season and 8th in 9 total years as an NFL head coach what a dope -
Why the fixation with hiring a big-name coach?
Max997 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah because getting to the playoffs where anything can happen would be a bad thing for the Bills I guess you would prefer Cowher who was labeled the same as Marty before finally winning the super bowl or maybe Shanahan who hasnt done a thing without Elway Marty turns teams around fast and gets them to overachieve and play smart, solid football with a style of play built for cold weather cities like Buffalo. I dont care that he never got to the super bowl as coach and only has a 5-13 playoff record, he coached 3 teams to the playoffs and would have been 4 if Snyder didnt fire him after one season when he already was showing signs of improvement going 5-3 in their last 8 games after starting 3-5 How many coaches have taken 3 teams to the playoffs? Marty and Parcells are the only ones I can think of Any Bills fan that wouldnt want him as coach simply doesnt understand the game or never watched his teams play. Power running game and hard nosed defense, yeah who wouldnt want that in Buffalo. -
Why the fixation with hiring a big-name coach?
Max997 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
anyone following football heard of all of those guys so I dont know where you are getting that they were unknowns from dont misunderstand most fans desire for a name coach as wanting a coach that has had success at the job in the past...lets get a known comodity instead of the unknown like we had with Williams and Mularky i dont think this organization can take a chance on another co-ordinator that has never been a head coach before....i dont think that means hire Cowher or one of the high priced guys because that isnt going to happen. Marty is the best choice for this team if he wants to coach again the key is hiring people that have had success previously at the job they are being hired for -
Vic C saying its Perry as HC
Max997 replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
are you really complaining about who the interim coach is? are you freakin serious...who the F cares, its temporary, just be happy Jauron got fired my god people always have something to complain about, jeez -
High Powerwed Offense? are you kidding me Jamal Lewis is and has been done and certainly isnt serviceable anymore Braylon Edwards has had one good season in the NFL, ONE....so lets not make him out to be more then he is because he certainly isnt a top WR in the league Brady Quinn has had how many starts in the NFL? how many times have they switched QBs the past two years I agree the Browns have had horrible mgt and coaching but they are no where near built to have a high powered offense and are a horrible example to go by

An objective approach to coach picking

fans that just assume Ralph is going to fire Jauron are probably in for a rude awakening he should be fired but its no guarantee Ralph will do it and odds are he wont -
How the F did we lose to Cleveland???
Max997 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and how would the Bills offense have performed against the Ravens last night? probably not much different watching Cleveland is just like watching the Bills...just pathetic -
giving your GM the green light to hire the head coach they have decided on and actually making the decision of who to hire is two different things is it not? thanks for playing
-
thats actually not correct....right now with the cap there is also a minimum that teams have to spend, with an uncappped year that goes out the window as well so Ralph could spend even less on player salaries then he already does
-
at least player contracts are not guaranteed for the most part
-
Expect Jauron to be fired tomorrow
Max997 replied to keepthefaith's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you could have said the same thing after each loss this year with the exception of week 1 so what would be different about this loss then the others especially the horrible loss to Cleveland Ralph hasnt fired a head coach during the season since '86 and i think before that the last time was the early '70's face it, Ralph isnt firing anyone during the season and i'll be surprised if he even fires Jauron after the season -
Marv hired Jauron because he is a snob and hired another so called smart guy just because of what college he went to even though we all seen he wasnt a good head coach from his time in Chicago which ironically marv had a front seat to and still hired him
-
well that was only a matter of time
-
does Edwards need glasses? he seems to run right into pressure at times
-
Jeez, had him stopped and couldnt finish
-
Bills totally sold out against the run there, wouldnt surprise me to see Young take a bootleg in
-
I honestly think Poz would be a pretty good outside linebacker

the same guy that attempted a 47 yard FG in 50 mile per hour swirling winds after watching the opposing kicker miss 27 yarders
