    Exactly. These disturbed individuals prey on people they "assume" will not be armed and won't have the ability to fight back. Of the thousands of concealed weapon permits which are issued to law abiding citizens every year, how many of those people are in the news for using their weapon in an inappropriate manor? None that I have heard of.

    I can't imagine Turner or his agent are happy about this, especially with the amount of coin being thrown around this off season.

    Exactly. As my orignal post stated "certainly NOT 25,000 students" (the full student body) which was the claim of another poster. Either way, it would be logistically impossible to lock down even 9,000 students in that short a period of time with the manpower available.

    In defense of AJ1 and some of the other jokers, there are certainly NOT 25,000 students on campus at 8 am on a Monday, not even close.

    I have found this to be a time proven method.

    bingo. lock down the students who are in the dorms and don't allow off campus students to come in until you are sure you have a handle on things after the first shooting...but like I said earlier, we don't have the full details yet, maybe the school did take appropriate action.

    The first incident took place at around 7am in a dorm. At 9:30am, when the 2nd half of the shooting apparently took place, they still had all the kids in their classes and didn't alert any of them of the first incident or of a potenial threat. Maybe they took the appropriate actions, we certainly don't have all the details, but I just have a feeling the media will jump on this...

    I think the school officals at Virginia Tech are going to take some serious heat over the next couple of days.
