  1. I feel you BiB, but "led by the likes of Chalabi" even we knew his sordid corrupt reputation the minute his name was mentioned. We had a whole book on his crap, common sense said the Admin types like you should have known this was a disaster waiting to happen. Even if I disagree with the reasons we went in, the plans execution in the immediate aftermath looked like it was put together on the fly with little consideration of all those contingencies you talk about. Otherwise Chalabi would never have been chosen. He makes corrupt Chicago politics look clean and Sadam's actions understandable.
  2. Yeh, I guess because Bush "gave him blanket permission" to leak classified info, not sure that passes the smell or legal test, but under this admin, like going around FISA, it is okay if the Presidents lawyers say that he has executive powers to avoid the law? Can the President actually delegate someone arbitrarily be a selective releaser of highly classified info? If so, that is incredible!
  3. That is only because he cut a deal and it is easier to prescute purjury, you know that so why bother making the statement. It is called leverage,
  4. Abramoff and his brother got to Members through their wives charities and apparantly penetrated OMB. linky thingy
  5. Part of the incompetent handling of P.R. by the Bush Admin and military, the military was prepared with notes of the upcoming b.s. campaign, why didn't they respond immediately and effectively. They should have had someone looking for a setup P.R. event and had someone there countering it, then prior to it or as it was happening, had a p.r. setup nearby providing photos and notes for reporters. With quick breaking news, the media has little chance to verify facts and unless the military each times gives evidence as to the falsehood of the other sides claims then the press will tend to believe them. Kinda like the Dems response to why it was necessary to invade Iraq in the first place. Little counter evidence was provide until it was too late and everyone started believing the President...in a vacuum the one with the loudest voice will be heard.
  6. Sounds like something straight out of Sadam's P.R. guys mouth, can't remember his name, but the next thing we know Scott will be saying, "Were kicking their @#$#$, as our troops are evacuating Bagdad.
  7. Poor McClellan, he probably came up with that line himself.
  8. With Scarborough and Matthews as commentaries please, Roger Ailes still has relationship, they may towards the end of the food chain, but they are still in it.
  9. Great to meet you the other day, sorry we are headed back east during the draft, actually think we will be home by then. Will look you up the next time we are in SoCal. My wife sends here regards. All the best.
  10. Nous Allons Beau Flux....Damn English thought the frogs were saying Buffalo.

  12. Especially with all the ones they are financing for car bombs in Iraq.
  13. Yeh I know, Admin folks love claiming it was common knowledge that she was CIA before the leaks, which is not true, that her neighbors knew, which is also not true according to Fitzgerald. And that she was no longer involved in Covert work at the time her identity was revealed, also not true. I skated with a couple CIA guys and they are supporters of this President, but furious with the leak. They won't talk, but agree someone's head should roll, at the time we didn't realize the leak it went up so high! Treasonable offense comes to mind.
  14. Hmm, sounds like the old Republican planted newstory cycle, it hasn't made Michael Medved or Rush yet? Then Fox or MSNBC needs to pick it up and then a front page story in the Washington Times. The usual tracking for a made up or partially true whoa is me Right Wing lament, you can usually track it.
  15. Actually Harlem is becoming gentrified and trendy, "may" (much doubt) have been true 10 years ago, not today. Queens is in worse shape.
  16. I don't mind that so much if they aren't wasting money in other areas. MA taxes are no where near that of NY, so I can deal. Nice tired old slogan though, I think VA taxes are worse overall. This is the part that worries me. It may work in short term, but down the road the insurance cos will threaten pullout unless they have unreasonable profits, and subsidies to limit their risk. Why bother with insurance companies, how will they cost any less than a government run assurance program. So much for private sector efficiencies, medicare is actually less costly than private insurance, which in itself is a scary statement.
  17. Yeh, sure, sure...8 years, but I thinks we as a party are SOL on that front in the short term, maybe in 2012, then Obama or Corzine will be ready. But until then, don't see anyone that can beat McCain except McCain.
  18. LOL, can't argue too much with your last two posts, but they are still there, haven't been impeached and until that happens there is always room for more nails and on the other issue, despite their incompetency they gave it the old Bush try, just didn't bring along enough LSU women to help them plan, nor did they call daddy.
  19. Oh I think it was malicious by Rove, Scooter and Cheney, but it gives Bush plausible deniability, while still giving Scooter and the gang some cover. The only implication that really bothers me is that they had blanket permission to reveal secrets at their discretion, got to be causing military folks a lot of heartburn.
  20. After reading Johnny Coli's post I knew the fishiness of this post would come to the surface. GMU, one of the most conservative public Universities in the country was the tip off. Now that I know a Heritage foundation like group funded I know there was beaver in the wood shed. Now I don't doubt that certain Unversities have left leanings, but there are plenty of right wing leaning schools and plenty of schools that are neither, nor focused on politics. Another broad paint brush assault by the righties on public institutions they hate. Then the can justify more cuts in education and b.s. programs like no child left behind. VABills thought you had more dignity that this stuff. Polls, yeh there is an unbiased way to prove a point (sarcasm). They only work when you sponsor them and they provide you with news you don't want to hear. I am suspect when they are outcome based on any side.
  21. Interesting that Scooter was the designated leaker of classified info. Never knew there was such a position. (sarcasm)...guess you DOD folks are not suprised but that it was this organized sounds incriminating of Cheney and Bush. Link
  22. AK and HI avg over $400 per capita in those states, the rest avg only $39 per person...NY ranked 43. By and large smaller Red states made out with some token blues sprinkled in. Linky Thing!
  23. Nagin is a wimp @#$#$, no backbone politician, but these residents are garbage and should be denied all future Federal assistance and return any that they have received. So much for Christian beliefs, not the way I was raised, we housed a family in our house during the Blizzard of 77 when their power went out and ours didn't.
  24. When the levee breaks...whatever Robert Plant says. I want some Zepplin.
  25. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/05/us/05mass.html?th&emc=th This sounds great, except when someone starts gaming the program, either insurance cos raising rates through the roof, doctors ordering too many tests or patients drug seeking and then the House of cards falls. My question is did they raise the penalities for fraud on collusion on all sides?
