Round 5, Pick #140: OT Ed Wang - Virgina Tech
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to ax4782's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One or two more Studs and they may have a line... Pick Up Faneca and I could get excited about this team! -
What about Sean Canfield out of Oregon State, size, decent completion percentage.... could be a low round sleeper. Any draw back other than he is a project?

The Earliest Season Record Predictions
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to bills in va's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with Gailey being added the Bills drop from 4-12 to 2-14. Common Ralph hurry up and pass on. This pergatory crap with you holding the reins till their are pried out of your cold dead fingers has been done before. Let go now and be remembered more positively. -
Sully is right this time...

Only 11 Minutes of Action in an NFL game
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which is why I have been slowly moving over to hockey. The between periods is long, but I have time to cook wings, make a sandwich grab an adult beverage, pay attention to my wife... whatever. None of those things are long enough except at half time for football. The ball in the air thing is a little over the top especially coming from an organization owned by Rupert Murdock ans Fox. If you want football action, go to a Division IA game... lot less commercial breaks and often some really good football. -
And I am not giving up, just acknowledging what no one want to admit. Short of a someone coming in on a White Horse and wresting the reins away from Wilson's death grip, this ship has sailed. I give The Bills a 10% chance in the next two years or being rescued... Still 10% is hope, though not much else and I will always be a fan.

First off, this coaching search screwiness reminds me of the dismantling of the Buffalo Braves as John Y Brown prepared to move them elsewhere. There are some differences. The Bills do not yet have a new owner, but that is a matter of short time. Having trouble finding a decent GM, getting rejected at every step for even a good second tier coach and a team of mismatches does not bode well for having a team in Buffalo for very much longer, maybe not even next year. That being said, I would like to remember better times, like upon moving to Buffalo in the mid sixties seeing them make a run at the first now known as the SuperBowl... then I think Championship after the merger. Watching OJ run crazy despite the Bills losing... Denis Shaw, Walt Patulsk, Tony Green (SP?). The Electric Company... Chasing The Bills down Delaware Ave on my Banana seat bike and having OJ slap us 5 and hand us oranges. OJ signing a superman comic book in Buffalo airport. Jim Kelly and Bruce signing a football for my Mom who is handicap.... her two favorite players. Watching the come back against Houston in Grevey's in Fairfax, VA with all the other Buffalo transplants and going nuts... And many others.... But now I just feel melancholy. RIP Buffalo Bills

Being questioned during the hearing that these guys have months to prepare for, the Goldman Sachs rep and others can't recall when they first became aware of the default swap crisis, the sub-prime mess and are flat out lying when they say they were never leveraged at more than in the 20 percent range. I have a friend who was laid off and a manager of one this groups and he explained that these guys were aware that they had much more leverage than thought, didn't do their own due diligence and figure out how much it actually was and it wasn't just on sub-prime, it was on all bank loans. And looking back they realized it was a lot more than 20%, but because of the complicated loan packaging and reselling with high level rating it was tough to tell exactly what level leverage they were at. Now, any kind of regulatory structure or oversight on these issues are being opposed by these same banks and fund managers who looked the other way and brought use into the crisis to begin with. Man Wall Street is FOS. P.S. Watching it on MSNBC Financial network now... Don't see it listed on any Gov. Sites, Could be a repeat??

[please fix subject]
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to talkinproud78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
P.S. I saw the father son report on ESPN this morning. Haven't seen anything in the way of actual facts. And Glazer wasn't the guy reporting it. Can't remember the guys name, but they started talking about the USC replacement first and blowing off the rumor that the Carolina coach Jack Del Rio was interested. -
Marshawn Lynch steals 20$
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is Hamburg afterall... Come onnnnn. I wanted to write something more sarcastic but figured if I ever go to a Bills game I don't want to be accused of something after I leave.... P.S. Go Sabres! P.S. P.S. Get a coach Bills, and get rid of Lynch anyway. -
Tebow looks like a NFL QB tonight
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of all the quarterbacks that I have seen this bowl season, I like Mike Kafka out of Northwestern. Quick release, can read a D. Doesn't have good receivers yet seems to do his best with limited talent. He has a rocket of an arm and can move in the pocket and is tough. Not sure if he is a senior, but he would be my first choice right now. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The little I watched of the game, go Sabres! Maybin is fast but could use 40lbs... Jeez, he looks like a safety. The center of the D line looked pathetic and the o-line needs another year of playing together. They had moments and then missed assignments. Not totally in sinc yet. Agree on TO, looked like he pulled a Diva moment after Reevis blanketed him... Ah, we need a better GM... what is with these DB who can't cover but the Bills spend all these draft picks on??? Also, what a lame crowd in Toronto... that was pathetic. They don't deserve another game up there. -
Bills sign QB Brian Brohm
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Bash_Gash's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brohm was great at Louisville, he has a much stronger arm then Edwards. I don't know about his footwork, though I seem to remember him having some escapability and running ability in college. And at least he has gotten twoe years to ride the pines and develop. I really liked him in college, but that doesn't mean he can play the pro game. We shall see, can't hurt getting him for nothing. Why haven't the Bills thrown Hamden in there? Oh yeh, Jauron just got fired... -
New Gallup Poll on Health Care Reform
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Regardless if this poll is legit, Obama is screwing this debate up. He doesn't seem to know how to parry and return fire. His passiveness seems to be killing is leadership and the style just doesn't work. Reagan, Clinton and Dick Cheney understood this.... -
Are you rooting for a W or an L tomorrow?
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want them to lose, but it would be better for the Bills if they did. Would mean more chance of Jauron and the current admin to be gone at the end of the season and I can't see this getting any better with a win and muddling just below mediocrity. I hate muddling, it is too painful. Get it over with quick and move on. -

Horsepucky, I just want coverage to be universal, find the best most efficient and equitable financing spreading the cost out and I am all for it.... no cherry picking allowed, otherwise eliminate insurance go harsh tort reform and if someone screws up as in Doctors, put a jail sentence on their @#$#, same with hospital administrators... -

YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The GOP plan doesn't provide the needed coverage and has gaps and leaves too much up to the insurance cos, speaking of drinking KoolAid. If you believe that I have some WMD in Iraq for you. Also, it doesn't ad in any viable competition that will stay around. in long run it will end up consolidating the insurance business even further giving more call for even greater government involvement. Be careful what you wish for... -

YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I do understand, show me how it is going to raise that much???? I have heard budget scores all over the place on this thing and don't believe any of it. $700 B, at least paying for it is being talked about instead of deficit and spend. -
Absolutely. Without question
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And the current system does this. Actually to an extent that is what CAT coverage and crop insurance does. In addition ad on coverage is subsidized through 3 risk pools that the government shares a percentage of with the insurance cos. It works pretty well and it keeps costs down through negotiations over rates. Losses are spread out and in good years money is returned to the treasury. The public option should be set up as a ceiling and largely not competitive with the insurance cos. Doing this will hopefully slow the insurance oligopolies strangle hold over price setting. Currently they are operating like a Cartel and until that is broken up the whole process will remain an expensive cluster. -

YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Reagan started the spend, tax cut and deficit beyond the eyes can see economic theory. Until both sides become budget disciplined as under Clinton and Delay your singling out of one side is just partisan crap.
