  1. Me: The Buckeyes are angry. Here comes the pain train, Sparty. Choo choo! Also me: Take the 15.5 points and bet big on MSU.
  2. Agreed. I have generally found Franklin to be annoying over the past few years, but he handled two very difficult weeks in a row with nothing but the type of class I would expect from a tradition-rich program.
  3. I remember Ki Jana Carter's PSU team scoring 60-something against the Buckeyes. Can't think of anything else even close.
  4. Saw that coming but convinced myself it was not possible. Ohio State's best play was waving to the kids at Childrens Hospital after the first quarter. Not letting a kickoff go for a TD was also a win, sadly. I actually thought OSU was settling down and getting the game under control at one point, but then two Olinemen went down on consecutive plays resulting in two freshmen playing tackle. And then Bosa got ejected on a questionable targeting call. The Buckeyes just couldn't catch a break. Worse, it appears that everything we had hoped was fixed in the six weeks between OK and PSU--underthrown balls, dropped passes, and LB's getting gashed on underneath passing routes--was exposed as not fixed, and now a lack of discipline is a huge problem. 9 penalties for 95 yards is terrible. I was also upset to see JT as the leading ball carrier on the ground even though Dobbins was getting 9 yards a friggin carry. Seen that movie before. Everything that could possibly go right for Iowa went right, and everything that could possibly go wrong for OSU went wrong. Props to Ferentz for having his guys ready and adding to Iowa's lore of a tough, tough place to win a road game. Two very tough games coming up. Not sure what to expect. Go Bucks.
  5. I would expect to be prepared for days like this past Thursday and Saturday, having lived my entire life as a Bills fan and a Buckeye since I went to college in 1994. But I'm miserable nonetheless. Two total team losses from preparation and schemes by the staffs, to discipline and execution by the players. I'm at a loss for words. Go Bills. Go Bucks. How firm thy friendship
  6. Thought this was going to be a Major League post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-hDl6OALv4
  7. I'd get in a foxhole with the OP any day. That's what I saw, too. Not mad at Tyrod at all today.
  8. Love it. I was at the Bears\Panthers game earlier this season, and even though the Carolina offense couldn't get going, Benjamin looked like an exceptionally big and talented guy to my eyes. Glad to have him on the Bills.
  9. Worse. I just went and looked and found that I thinking of Fuller's tackle on McSorley on the drive that ended in a field goal in the 4th quarter [shrugging emoji]. I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. When was Booker's tackle? I'm watching here https://youtu.be/dminKvaMy8M EDIT: I see the Booker tackle (not in the above highlight video) with about 13:10 left in the 4th. Speaking of the unusual effort shown by the DL, here is Sam Hubbard tackling the QB and RB at the same time:
  10. He almost spun into huge scoring play, but Baker made one of the tackles of the season just before Barkley took off.
  11. I was trying to avoid saying "trap game." There were so many mistakes in the PSU game that the OSU coaches will have no problem making this a painful week of practice despite the big win last week. Fingers crossed.
  12. I'm still recovering and hope the team is able to refocus this week. Weird things happen at Iowa every now and again.
  13. This was my reaction, too. An NFL stadium has to be one of the worst places to be with a concussion.
  14. Not sure about ND's chances to run the table, but if they do I agree they probably get in. It has been mentioned every year since the CFP began that the committee takes into account factors such as likely TV ratings and travelling fanbases. Nobody would ever admit it, but if you look at the choices over the past few years it's tough to dispute.
  15. A little adult humor on a Saturday night - kind of gross but I like the effort! Shady's racking up miles, and I do believe this kid is a great weapon and will do well in the NFL.
  16. That had to be the ugliest performance at home I've ever seen from the Buckeyes. Special teams, penalties, fumbles everywhere... they couldn't even cover a pooch kick! It's embarrassing that by the end of the game Urban had to concede that Ohio State can't kick off like a normal team. And yet after all that, it was JT who delivered under the skeptical eyes of Buckeye Nation. I can't really find the words for how much that means to those of us who closely follow this program. Lots of haters eating lots of crow tonight.
  17. See, in a huge game against a top defense, you'd like your RB to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qek6NOP4FTU
  18. Redemption for Barrett. What a journey for that young man. Credit where credit is due: PSU is a great first quarter team!
  19. Better wide receiver? Barkley. Better ST threat? Not sure. Never saw EZE on KR duty. Better RB? Undecided. EZE ran hard and well against some top, top defenses. Last I checked, Barkley is an RB. So for now, take it easy. I already said yes to trading Shady to get him.
  20. Lol - exactly. OSU winning the trenches on both sides of the ball, and also somehow getting absolutely worked. Brutal.
  21. Well, I've been sitting around all week waiting for the game to start - pretty much useless at work. The time has come to see if the Buckeyes have made enough progress since Oklahoma to win a big game. Urban noted in his pressers all week that PSU brings max pressure 40% of the time, and since bringing heavy pressure is the book on Barret anyway, I'd expect to see at least that much tomorrow. Going all the way back to the 2014 VT game and the "bear" defense that has been copied with great effect ever since by all top-end Ds they have played, Urban believes the only way to beat it is over the top. We'll see if they can get it right this time. I'm worried about that (obviously), pass protection, kick coverage, and the pass defense. I'm optimistic about the DL winning in the trenches, as well as Dobbins and Campbell making plays. Reading Buckeye Twitter all week, apparently PSU fans are already complaining about the officiating crew assigned to the game. They are also concerned that the Ohio State grounds crew will try to take away PSU's speed advantage by not covering the field sufficiently during the rain projected for tomorrow morning. Got to love the B1G generally and PSU fans in particular. Also, the best news of the week is that it looks like it will not be raining during the game after all! Buckle up - should be a tough one.
  22. Hopefully, we'll find out in about 24 hours.
  23. Barkley is the type of player who should be judged by total yards from scrimmage, not only rushing stats. His numbers make him look like a Marshall Falk type of weapon. In fairness to Zeke, Barkley has nothing to complain about in terms of carries. PSU runs with him, throws to him, lets him return kickoffs... hell, he even took a snap out of the wildcat last week and scored. If Ohio State had featured Zeke anywhere near as prominently in 2015 I highly doubt he would have complained that one time (which of course everyone agreed with under the circumstances).
