  1. It's funny you brought this up.  I've got two almost three-year old boys and they were born very premature a week after the 13 seconds game.  I remember thinking at the end of that game "wow, this is the worst thing ever" and then life showed me how rough things could actually get and the reality of "it's just a game".

But here we are three years later and those same boys were sitting with me on the couch, in their Josh Allen toddler jerseys, copying me while I fist pumped or cheered.  This time, after the loss, I was more worried about having to break it to them in the morning as they went to bed at halftime.  They'll probably know a lot of disappointment, but they're also going to see Josh Allen in his prime like I got to watch Jim Kelly in his prime.  I'm just hoping they don't get the drought I did after Kelly retired.

Nobody on this team can catch the effing ball. Seriously, nobody. None of the WR. Knox has gotten better, and Kincaid has gotten better, but no reliable pass catchers on the roster. I get that Josh throws it hard, but your job is to catch the ball. I don't even care about size or speed of the WRs that we get in the draft as long as they can catch the ball.

Did Kincaid or Shakir even drop one pass this season?

  3. It's my fault really...I was watching the game with my twin 3 year olds and even let them stay up past their bedtime to watch until halftime.  Pure domination by the Bills.  The minute they went to sleep, the 2nd half turned...

I should have never let them go to bed...

Pat Mahomes had 40 more passing yards on 16 less attempts. They punted once.  Are we really gonna act like he was edged out by Allen last night?

    The better QB won again.

Mahomes had the advantage of playing against Buffalo's injury-riddled defense. Meanwhile, Allen had to play against one of the league's best and was able to create long, sustained drives with multiple 3rd and 4th down conversions.  Just because Mahomes had more YAC yards, does not make his performance "better".

  5. We are so thin at WR...why create one hole to try and fill it with a draft pick (honestly, when was the last time the Bills drafted an elite receiver in the 1st round?  (Watkins and Evans were meh)

Keep Diggs and find a suitable WR1/WR2 somehow.  If Diggs slides into the WR2 spot as a result, that's a good thing.

This year i don't think so the Ravens unlike the Bills are for the most part healthy and you can't play the best teams in the NFL and expect to win with back ups . I know if healthy we could have beat KC because for a minute it looked as if we had them but they adjusted and the Bills didn't .

At least this game the Bills put up points i think if they did play the Ravens next week they would have been embarrassed and the possibility of Josh & others getting hurt so although it sucks i think it may have worked out for the better .

And i think that KC won't win next week !!

It's a full 180 compared to last year when the Ravens were absolutely decimated by injuries and were playoff fodder.

Now they're healthy and easily the best team in the league.  They should make short work of the Chiefs.  I think beating the Bills was their Super Bowl.

Josh needs playmakers to step up for him. The problem is, they don't when he needs them the most. A perfect example of this is Chris Jones making a play that forced Dawkins to stumble into Josh, which caused his throw to Shakir to be off. That was huge for The Chiefs. Someone, somewhere needs to step up for him, and it rarely happens(Miller pressuring Mahomes into an INT last season is as close as it gets). It should not have to be on Josh, all the time, to have to be the difference maker. It's exhausting. Players need to catch balls, defenders need to do something(kudos to Poyer for his big play in the end zone last night). I mean, for whatever reason, it seems to be solely on Josh all the time and there is never any context into the matter, it just turns into "he didn't make the play when the team needed him to". Nevermind that he did all that two years ago in KC, with 13 seconds on the clock left, and it still wasn't enough. I am not saying his decision making doesn't need to be better at times or that he is always perfect, but I can't think of a player constantly more let down by the players beside him than Josh.

And that's what irritates me the most about the Josh Narrative.  Everyone in the media has it so that HE must carry the team at all times.  No mention of Sherfield and Diggs dropping beautiful thrown balls.  No mention of Brady forcing the 1st down runs every drive in the 2nd half without adjustments.  Nope, Allen didn't throw an underneath to Diggs and therefore, it's all his fault.

Meanwhile, Mahomes played an alright game where guys like Kelce made plays and, despite going three and out and giving the ball back to Josh with time remaining, he's the "Conquerer of the Road! Mahomes does it again!"  He stunk on that final drive before punting it back to Buffalo,

    No.

    Just no.

First off, Shakir was NFL open. He was not wide open. Wide open was Kelce's first TD. it was a tight window that likely works if Allen isn't hit as he's thrown.

But it's the wrong decision for a few reasons. One, he has close to an instant 1st down if he tosses it to Diggs on the crosser. Diggs goes down in bounds it forces KC to use a timeout or the clock winds down to ~1:20. We get 4 more chances at a play like the Shakir throw or Bass gets a little more space to work.

Two, even if the pass works exactly as intended...KC has the ball back with 1:55 and two timeouts. They need a TD, but with our defense giving up at least eight 20+ yard plays? It's a risk I would never take.

You're banking on the fact that Diggs catches that ball and makes the right play.  Maybe Josh lost a little faith in him at that point after he dropped a SURE thing in that 65 yard ball of beauty he threw earlier in the drive.

The skewed narratives have already begun. NFL.com says Allen was "far from perfect" in the game and "misfired several times downfield" when the game was on the line. The writer emphasizes his longest completion was 15 yards and implies it was his fault. No mention of the receiver drops, the choke play of Diggs, the fact that he played his heart out, leading the team in rushing, patiently taking what the defense gave him, hitting clutch pass after clutch pass, and driving the Bills into field goal range to tie the game.

All we're going to hear this offseason is how Allen can't win the big one, that he's a turnover machine, and the Chiefs own him. Going to be a long time until September.

It's borderline pathetic at this point how many people in the media have it out for him.  His biggest crime being that he wasn't the bust they declared he would be when he was selected.   It would be one thing if Josh was spouting QANON theories on a buddy's podcast, acting like a diva, etc.  but he's genuinely a decent human being.  And they HATE him for that.

He played his heart out.  Could things have gone better at the very end?  Sure.  But he put the team in a position for a VERY makeable field goal to tie things up and once again, the team let him down.

Yeah…. The Allen Mahomes narrative will be painful to listen to.  Tyler Bass and AJ Klein will go down in bills history for this one.

like I’ve maintained-  so much luck is involved in winning a Super Bowl.  We get none.  Again.  Maybe some day

the weird thing is we got few breaks. Kincaid batting out the fumble. The touchback through the end zone. The fumble recovery on the last drive…

…but then here comes a completely catchable ball dropped by both Sherfield and Diggs…then the missed kick…

    Team feels cursed…

    What else can we do?

We have, at least, an informal family here in Buffalo.  I feel pain right now - but I know there are thousands of people right there w/ me.

Allen is still young, we'll always have a window while he's playing. There is a rich history in sports of great players who kept hitting a wall year after year, until they broke through.

Just keep hoping.  And stay away from the media.  I made the mistake of checking Nick Wright's initial reaction - what a wonderful example of a sore winner.  But it will be a brutal week w/ the ending being a wide right kick.  Just steer clear.  Life is still good. We still have Josh Allen.

I keep hoping that in this story, Josh is the Peyton Manning, just needing to slay the dragon just once before becoming a legend…and not the Dan Marino/Philip Rivers where a HOF QB is continually let down by the team around him.

I WANT the Bills to win, but I'm bracing myself for the loss in some sort of Billsy fashion.

13 seconds broke me.  Like I sat there stunned after the game was over for like an hour just wondering how the team could have wasted the greatest performance by a Bills QB ever.

The Ravens had the best record in football, even after sitting their starters in the final week.

The Texans needed a win in the final game to scrape their way in.

There is also a natural skepticism about the Texans, considering they were among the league's worst teams just a year ago.  Not to mention they are starting a rookie QB, who is bound to hit the wall at some point (right?)

With all that said, I would not be a bit surprised if Houston wins this.

Didn't one Pat Mahomes take his team to the AFC Championship in his rookie year?  Stroud is a stud.  He could hit a wall, or he could put up 400 yards and 4TDs as well.  And I know this is a new year...but Lamar has yet to show he's "the dude" come playoff time.  As a bettor, I wouldn't touch this game.

  14. Personally, I want to see the trainwreck that could be if Bill Belichek goes to Dallas.  The bloom is definitely off his rose but I can't see his ego not clashing daily with Jerry Jones.

Jerry LOVES offense.  He dreams of rebuilding the dynasty days with a team that just blows out opponents by 40+ points a game.  Billy B finds his joy in winning a game 10-3 and having his defense on the field getting the job done.  Philosophically, they couldn't be more different.

It was awesome from Josh and we ain’t apologizing. But there would be a full on melt down if Mahomes did this to us haha!

it is BS because the nfl has defenders afraid to breathe on qbs now. So we’re not giving the points back but I bet this does get addressed in the offseason.

The meltdown from us would come from being mad that our defense was soft, they couldn't tackle Mahomes and let him walk into the endzone.  It's not a fake slide, that just another Yinzer excuse for getting blown out of our building yesterday.

It's insane that Josh did what he did on the 52 yard touchdown, and we're all (reasonably) going "Yeah, that was great, BUT..."

When you re-watch that catch and run, my personal favorite moment is Fitzpatrick looking to the sky in disbelief as Shakir gets in the end zone

Whilst it could be argued that a few other moments were possibly more important, for sheer enjoyment, it's one of two for me.

The Josh 52 yard run or the Shakir TD.

The run was monstrous, and fun, so I'm giving it to that

second both the Allen and Shakir runs. I was watching with a lot of non-Bills fans and those two plays had everyone talking.
