1. Honestly, the only thing worse than JDG's Monday posts are the fact that people actually respond to them.  Please, for the love of my ignore filter, STOP IT.

JDG just can't admit that JP is the future of the Bills.

Each week I watch him play, the more and more I'm seeing the makings of a great QB. I only wish that Jauron would let that arm go nuts once in a while. Remember that 50 yarder he threw against the wind? I'd like to see him throw a 60+ ball into the hands of Evans.

  2. Who was it that said football is a game of inches? JP steps a few inches outside the goal line in week 1, and NE doesn't get the safety that ends up the winner.

If they get a few more inches on JP's bootleg, they keep the drive going, run the clock and win the game 17-6 and we don't have this discussion about lack of killer instinct.

If anything the Bills showed some instinct by throwing the ball on their 2nd to last possession to move the chains and get downfield.

They're young, they're winning, and they're improving. That's all I can ask of this team this year. Most "experts" pegged us at 0-4 to start the year.

  3. Maybe those weeks are like Biblical days for him?  You know, lasting for thousands, if not millions, of years?

Those weeks could be in dog years too...

Let's pass on the 15 year old billionaire.

"Daddy, it's cold in Buffalo, I want their home games played somewhere hot. Build a stadium, like, in Jamaica or something. Gawd!"

And so on and so forth.

  4. I can hear the conversation between Doug, Ralph, and Marv in the car on the way to the Fieldhouse now.... it'd go a lil' somethin like this:

    " A ONE... A TWOOO... A THREEEEEE... "

    660357

Yeah, bring back Flutie Flakes! My breakfast hasn't been complete since they took it off the market!

  5. This is an open question to the board, if any one can answer this it'd be greatly appreciated. Now that I live in Ottawa, I would like to take in a few Bills games this year (seeing as Buffalo is only a few hours from here). Is there a way to get tickets from Ottawa for Buffalo games? Also, seeing as my friends are...ugh...Packers fans, does anyone know when tickets will go on sale for that game?

    Thanks!

  6. All heresay and speculation. Just like putting two and two together loosely and calling it "journalism". Let me run it by you how most of these guys think:

"Hmmm....Philly needs a #1 receiver...Buffalo is looking to trade Moulds..."

I got it: "Philly shows interest in disgruntled Buffalo receiver!" Print it!

  7. Believe me...I am in that 75%, but I am just stating the facts.  Every year it seems its becoming a more difficult decision whether to renew my season tickets, but in the end I always do.  I am willing to be somewhat patient with Marv, we can only hope his approach pays dividends.  If not....well I'll just leave it at that and BILLIEVE.....

You don't know how envious I am that you can go see Bills games all season...

But you are exactly correct in your assessment. This team can turn it around. The talent is there.

  8. The key phrase is building this team!!  He is not over spending for quick fixes, but is building the team.  Unfortunately that translates to a dismal season next year, but does give us some hope for the future.

    638829

Well said. But keep in mind that 75% of Bills Nation are more than tired of rebuilding years. They would be happy being cannon fodder as a low seed playoff team with no real chance for the Super Bowl. They would consider that progress.

  9. Moulds will not get $6 million this season. He must know that by now. Bottomline, I'm not concerned with how much Moulds gets; I only care about how much the Bills get for Moulds.

    638772

Couldn't have said it better myself. Me-Shawn in New York is going to cause problems too. You think Plaxico wants to play second fiddle in the media again. All the attention on Keyshawn will drive him nots. And goodness forbid if Eli doesn't give either of them enough touches. What about Shockey too? Like he doesn't want the ball all the time.

  10. It seems that Marv is going for the potential players route in building this team during the offseason. The recent signings are guys who can have the potential to shine under Coach Dick (hee hee) or the potential to be big-time busts. Only time will tell I guess.

  11. Serious post #2. I'm afraid I have to agree with you. He has been really bad to date. Maybe he will turn it around, but I am not optimistic. Happy feet and a rag arm.

    638445

I'll accept the 'happy feet' remark but 'rag arm'? Give your head a shake! The kid has an incredibly strong arm. It's what drew the Bills attention to him in the first place. If anything, a lot of the sports commentators brought attention to the fact he was releasing the ball too quickly without enough touch on it.

  12. Great article thanks.  As much as some people bemoan Levy for signing high character guys, I love it.  This guy sounds grounded and has his head on straight.  Plus you can NEVER have too many linemen.

    637657

He's definately a character guy. When most guys on University football were out partying on the weekends, he'd be working Saturday mornings at 7 am with me at the University's day care. And in the summers he worked every year for a kids camp. He knew in his 3rd year that he was NFL bound and yet was the nicest guy to anyone who met him. He'll be a great addition.

The one thing the article doesn't mention is that he only started playing football at 18. Think of all he's learned to playing at this level at 25.

  13. BILLS UP ANTE FOR IZZY - OFFER SHEET INCLUDES $1.8M BONUS FOR FORMER BISON 2006/03/21 You'd think someone who played nine-man football at Kinsmen Stadium in Brandon would be bouncing off the walls after being guaranteed $1.8-million US to play in the NFL. If Israel Idonije is feeling it, he's not showing it. The man from humble football beginnings in the Wheat City is still being his same old humble self, even after signing a reported four-year $8.2-million offer sheet with the Buffalo Bills over the weekend. Buffalo's contract proposal came with a $1.8-million signing bonus, which means even if Idonije's current team, the Chicago Bears, matches it by Monday's deadline, the former University of Manitoba Bisons defensive tackleis getting that cash no matter what. "It's good. I'm happy," Idonije said yesterday after a workout at Charleswood's Pro Fitness Training. "It guarantees my family's security, and I'm not really a lavish person, so I'll be smart with that money and put it towork, and I'm going to continue living how I've been living." His unbelievable story just keeps getting more unbelievable, but Idonije has his feet planted firmly on the ground. BLESSED "I've been very blessed," said Idonije, who only started playing football with Brandon's Vincent Massey Vikings nine-man squad when he was in Grade 12. "It's been a great journey so far. To whom much is given, much is expected. "Regardless of where I am, in Chicago or Buffalo, they're giving me a whole lot, so my focus is ... I want to play to the level beyond what they've paid me. That's what I'm focusing on, and that's what I'm ready to do." The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons as a backup defensive lineman and special teamer with the Bears, and now he's a restricted free agent. Buffalo's contract offer works out to $2.05 million a season, and the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bears had offered him the league minimum of $712,000 per year. The Bears have until Monday to match the Bills' offer and keep him. If they don't, Idonije will be shuffling off to Buffalo.

OBVIOUSLY A BIG FA The Bills' new defensive co-ordinator is Perry Fewell, who was the Bears'secondary coach last season. So it's obvious Fewell is a big fan of Idonije who isn't really sure where he's headed. "I'm 50-50 right now," he said. "(The Bears) might match it, they might not. I know they like me there, and I know I like it in Chicago. "We'll see what happens." Chicago's defence was one of the best in the NFL last season, and Idonije said the personnel on the D-line isn't expected to change at all. Buffalo, on the other hand, is starting over after a dismal 2005 campaign. "Buffalo's a great situation," he said. "They use the same defence we do in Chicago, and I have an opportunity to go in there and ... they're not guaranteeing me a starting spot, but I have an opportunity to go in there and earn a starting position. "Nothing's guaranteed, but I have a great opportunity there. I've playedthe defence for two years, and it's a great situation for me." Regardless of where he ends up, Idonije, who made approximately $230,000 the past two seasons, is about to be set for life. You won't see him blowinghis nose with $100 bills, though. "I'm going to buy my parents a few things, and I bought a house in Winnipeg I'm going to furnish and take care of," he said. "Apart from thateverything's going to be invested." Besides, NFL money isn't guaranteed, and Idonije knows it. That's why he's working out like there's no tomorrow and has dropped his weight to a lean mean 263 pounds on his 6-foot-7 frame. "It's a whole lot of money, and I'm excited," he said. "But now that business is done, so let's get back to work."

  14. Am I the only one who thinks that VABills and JDG continue to progress this thread because they have no other leg to stand on other than:

"Losman sucks, because after 8 whole starts, he's shown he can't get the job done."

Face it, you're arguing for the sake of arguing. You know a majority of the people on this board support the idea of DEVELOPING a young QB instead of seeing your losses and cutting loose and you're just here to strike a nerve.

People of the Wall, let's not further debate this point until training camp when JP, Kelly and Craig come back from their summer vacations and ready to fight for your job.

Once the Bills pick an opening day QB, we can all get back to second guessing the decision, regardless of who's behind the center.
