  1. And as I keep saying - I understand that logic and if the Bills can find some way of renegotiating the hit they would take from getting out from under the Tyrod deal at the end of 2017 then it would be a no brainer to keep him. I am worried by making a sizeable commitment that ties you for multiple years to someone you are looking to upgrade. I go back and forth daily on what I would do with Tyrod if the only options are this contract or release him. I think having brought in an OC who is familiar with him that maybe nudges it to 51-49 in favour of keeping him but it is still a finely balanced decision for me.

How about renegotiating and offering him a raise in 2017 on a 1 year deal that allows him to become UFA after 2017. If he has a big season he will be set for a huge score in next years free agent market. I see this as the only way for him to giveback the back end of his current contract.

  2. Look, I don't know what to tell ya, I agree they weren't good but they finished ranked 16th in points against and 19th in yards against. If that's not ranked average to you then it's your problem.

Pretty funny that Tyrod is ranked 19th in Yards per attempt and you say he totally sucks and should be replaced but our defense which is ranked 19th is average.
  3. This is a joke right?

The time for the thanks yous and appreciations have passed. Yeah I get it, he massively over paid for the team but at the same time hundreds of fans deserve better than to watch two franchise who are simply NOT COMPETITIVE.

How many years of 7-9, 8-8 and maybe 9-7 do we have to tolerate? How many 27th, 29th, 24th finished for the Sabres is enough.

Season ticket holders, ticket buyers, sure it entertainment but at the same time how about being competitive and actually trying to compete for a championships. Doesn't this fan base deserve that.

Screw your idea of being appreciative for the Pegula's. If you don't know what you are doing, just own the team, sign the checks and hire people to do the right things. At the end of the day the Ronney family doesn't run the Steelers day to day operations. and they don't interfere in the football department. Al Davis said it best - Just win baby!

As far as a curse on the Bills. It comes from Doug Flutie people. the day we removed him as starting QB was the day this franchise starting seeing the dumpsters fire. That first benching game, was the Music City Miracle. We haven't sniffed the playoffs after that date.

We haven't been crushing it since that whole OJ thing so if you want to look for a curse ...

  4. WTF? The first rule when buying a business you know nothing about is don't do that. The second rule is, if you ignored rule number one then hire people who do understand the business. The Pegulas kept the same FO in place after the team hasn't seen the playoffs this century so far. Hire a czar or whatever, but you need someone who is knowledgeable running the show if it can't be you. They did not, and still have not, done this. Everyone should be grateful to the Pegulas for not only keeping the Bills and Sabres in Buffalo, but for all the other things they are trying to do to "make Buffalo great again" (please don't sue me Mr. Trump). But to claim a learning curve is responsible for their mistakes to date is simply overlooking the facts.

I'm sure Pegs had the right management in place in his fracking business.... Kind of the same concept.. Their problem is they seem to be too nice and still seem to be enamored with a huckster who somehow convinced them that they are responsible for the Ryan fiasco and the QB Ryan wanted and that Doug Whaley is the guy to make the Bills Great Again.

  5. You know they aren't going to. They never do.

They make season ticket holders pony up before the big moves are made. That way you are already on the hook for next year even if you completely disagree with their moves.

Otherwise, lose your seniority and awesome seats. Sucks.

If I was 100% convinced they intended to do a full rebuild with Qb and everything, I would seriously consider ditching my seats for a few years at least. Rebuilds are for losers and I don't see how they can expect people to shell out thousands of dollars each year for several years to watch a pretty much guaranteed losing team.

I guess I am clueless because this team is close and the guys driving it will be too old to contribute once the rebuild is complete. A rebuild is not in order here

  6.

What is your crying going to accomplish?

What is your crying going to accomplish?

Crying? I think it is pathetic that someone would take the stance that we as fans shouldn't complain about our team because we should just be happy they are here??? What a cuckolded line of thinking.

That's pretty much where I'm at.

+2 Thanks for not moving the team now do something with it.

  7.

It's an entitlement mentality. People think they deserve things when no such thing exists. Be grateful you have a team to root for. And if you'd rather see the team move than continue to lose, do us all a favor and find another team to root for. You won't be missed.

Wow.... Just wow... Are you serious? This post reeks of someone with low self esteem in a dysfunctional relationship. So we should all just STFU and take what we get otherwise they will leave us.

  8. If you think about it blowing the whole thing up isnt a bad idea. Darnold waiting for you in 2018. By which time Big Daddy Lard Butt will be on indefinite suspension and applying for his marijuana dispensary license. Hughes will be a cap casualty as will Mccoy. I can totally see a rebuild with the main goal being a massive tank next year and a top three pick. If tgey dont get Darnold there are a few other potential top five abs the way its looking at the moment.

Next USC QB that even PLAYs in a Super Bowl will be the first.

  9. Just a lot of stupidity about him on this board. He will get away with what he does in the NFL. Because his release is very quick and probably the best. He has a strong arm, Very Strong. He will be the next Farve or Rogers if you don't try to change him. Yes so good coaching will help him some what. Did you watch Rogers throw against Dallas many throws were made with not the right mechanics or foot work and on the move. You don't change someone like that you embrace it. This is the QB I want the most. I would even take him with the first pick in the draft. I can see 5 years from now. Why did the Bills pass on this guy in the first round. Better be careful. The patriots may take late first round and will have another 17 years of not making the playoffs. Get off your high horse this guy is everything you want in a QB and more.

So you are saying he will be a Hall of Fame QB? The beauty of the internet... People making absurd statements that won't be disproven for several years and this post will be long lost in the clouds.

  10. I don't dispute that the D was horrible this year, but man it would be nice to have a QB I had any confidence in when the pass was the only option and the Bills needed a game winning drive.

That being said, I'm all for keeping TT unless they can work a deal for a better option...and there aren't many. TT is a severely limited passer but he's likely the best option the Bills have and he's not that expensive.

If the Bills keep TT I hope to hell they use a pick in the first 2-3 rounds on another QB to groom the next few years. This stop gap QBing has to end at some point.

I agree with this as a QB that relies on his legs so much has a shorter shelf life than a traditional QB...

  11.

    You're wrong.

Wildcard teams that won a Superbowl over the last 20 years:

Denver Broncos in 1997, Baltimore Ravens in 2000,Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005, New York Giants in 2007 and Green Bay Packers in 2010.

    5 times in 20 years = 1/4 of the time or 25%

Getting to the playoffs gives you a VERY realistic shot at winning it all.

In this age of increased Parity in the NFL - anything can happen once a team makes the playoffs

You do realize from reading his post he isn't open to debate and he will answer any responses with the catch all they were peaking at the right time argument he used on the Giants.

  12.

No, my point was that Rodgers was dinged for system and mechanics. Please show me where I stated Mahomes IS Aaron Rodgers. If I thought that I would trade every pick for him. I like Mahomes as a Derek Carr/Dak Prescott level prospect.

By citing the exception you are implying that is a possibility no? Otherwise why even say it. I agree with you that he is worth a flyer as high as the second round but absolutely not in the first round. This is not a draft to burn a first round pick on the QB otherwise you run a higher than usual risk of drafting Trash such as we did with EJ.

  13.

Aaron Rodgers fell because he was considered another product of the Tedford system. And his mechanics were bad.

Many of you sound like you are parroting the dumb NFL teams that keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

There is no one in their right mind that would compare Tyrod to Mahomes. The only thing you have right is that he is in a system that is harder to evaluate for the NFL.

So your point is Mahomes will be another Rogers? I love when people cite exceptions for defending a position as if it were the rule.. There is much higher likelihood he is a Billy Joe Toliver. Seems like you are the one making the same mistake over and over by projecting a QB running a non standard system to have the same success in the NFL. He is worth a risk at 2 or 3 but certainly not a 1 especially with our needs at WR.

  14. Don't pretty much all Qb's do well in this system and then fizzle out in the NFL?

What do you mean. This list is loaded with QB's who had a succesful NFL career. Take a flyer at 2 or 3 but taking him at one and you are saying you are smarter than most draft pundits out there and are willing to bet against the established trend of Texas Tech QB pedigree.
