Gungy doubling down... Make that going all in on stupidity... The constant overthrows out of bounds and the standing fetal position sacks he takes is not indicative of accuracy or mobility. Sunday will be the last time we see him in a Bills uniform.

Lynn
Since Pegulas didnt bUrn it to the ground our best hope is Lynn who hopefully will keep this potent offense in tact. A new coach and system will be putting us back to square one with the same problematic front office in place.
-
Doesn't matter until we get a QB. We can have Vince Lombardi, won't make a difference
Wait till next year when you long for the good ole days of this year.

Yea it should be pretty easy to get the hottest coordinator right now, with a two time Super Bowl Champion father or a top college candidate who can make $5 million plus a year for 20-30 years to come to a team who:
Had a 1st time head coach quit after two seasons. that the team wanted to bring back but he thought it was too dysfunctional (Second time during the drought by the way).
Have not made the playoffs in 17 years.
Have had 6 different full time head coaches in those 17 years.
Has frequent front office leaks to the media that pins coach and front office against each other and affects the game on the field. An hour before the biggest game of the season, it leaks that Rex is going to get fired. WTF is that?
Finally, hangs their new interim coach completely out to dry to be the face of the franchise after they just fired their HC, who happens to be one of the most famous coaches in sports.
Please try to tell me with some facts why this job is going to be desirable to the top coaching candidates out there?
Sadly your post is spot on.

Two games, one of which came against the Jags.
It's funny b/c people talk about garbage time stats here with this offense, but last year's game against the Jags was one heaping pile of garbage time trash as the Jags played prevent defense from the 2nd quarter on since they were up by about 3 scores (b/c of EJ and EJ alone).
EJ is good for about a turnover a game, at least. His total TD/total turnover ratio is as bad as it gets.
So we cherry pick 2 games and compare that to an entire season..

Much easier to fall off thag cliff though hitching your wagon to a QB that cant consistently have good football games with his arm.
Put it this way week 1 shady tears a knee you dont think scoring is going to fall off a cliff.
But you took that chance hitching the next two years to a QB that struggles throwing the ball and taking an offense on His back
And still avgs 23ppg on point off a TT led bills offense
Can you please provide the link to the statistics that shows EJ Manual averaged 23 points a game for a season?

I didn't love EJ's play at FSU (I'm an alumnus and fan) and thought he was a good developmental prospect - not a 1st rounder. He was clearly the best available QB that year though - anyone with a brain knew Geno was a trash system QB whose stats were all padded with 5-yard dumps that went for big YAC.
We do know from both of the last 2 seasons is that he's been the best QB on the roster in preseason play. That's not worth a lot, but it's something, and it's certainly worth finding out if he has, in fact, developed some since we last saw him.
If you don't think TT is the long term answer, then keeping EJ around until we find that guy makes a lot of sense.
Refresh my memory didn't his college coach say that he wouldn't be much of an NFL player before we decided we knew more than the man watching him everyday at practice and drafted him.

What are you supposed to do, puke your last few shots back up?
No if you drank already than thems the breaks but it allows you to erase the ineveitable next two that will follow shortly.
-
so it was definitely "bad coaching" then and the players had nothing to do with it?
Thanks, I feel better now.
Been bad coaching for the last 17 years and when said bad coach is fired NO ONE wanted him in the first place.. And Russ is back to being marketing guru who hasn't had any influence on football decisions.
-
I dont want the option picked up.
But as long as the Bills are not forcing it one way or another on the new coach and said new coach makes the call i am ok with it i guess
This is fair enough.. Let the new coach decide

I like EJ, but that ship has sailed. Marrone should have never benched him with a 2-2 record. Obviously.
Sailed and is now resting at the bottom of the ocean
-
why do you want us all to die
How about -2 shots for a TD then...

EJ Drinking game
1 Shot for ball overthrown out of bounds
1 Shot for Sack while inside tackle box
1 Shot Int or Fumble

IMO, the Bills biggest problem, is its loosing culture itself. The Players get accustom to loosing and are not willing to make the sacrifices needed to win. I witnessed that in Saturday’s game. Some players were unwilling to fight for every inch of the field, weather it be on defense or offence, especially when it was needed the most. Some players are more concerned about protecting themselves, then getting a win. That’s a failure on the coaches’ part by allowing this selfishness to go unchecked. Players should be benched this week for their lack of effort and unwillingness to sacrifice for the good of the team during last week’s game. Rex was too soft and had to go. Anytime you hear the term “ A players coach” it means they are soft and will not hold players accountable for lack of effort. I honestly believe he underachieved with this team. He is not their leader; he is their friend. A recipe for failure IMO.[/size]
You think any of them will look at getting benched in this meaningless game as a punishment?
-
For context: Leo is about as much of a bumbling, out of touch bafoon as they come. He manages to make even his colleague Sal seem level headed, hardworking and engaged.
No one shoots the messenger quite like a Bills fan. Well done sir!
-
some of yall get so caught up in the result that you miss the process in situations. Lynn wont be judged based on a win or loss sunday -- itll be whether he handles the week with professionalism, shows up organized, and communicates well.... not if EJ heaves a pick 6 and loses the game.
Yea you are right it makes sense.
-
So according to the article this is Lynns audition and they shove a scrub QB down his throat.
-
Eh - weren't they at like midfield when he ran out of bounds though? With 2 minutes left?
Guy has a problem with QB running out of bounds mid field with 2 minutes left??? Isn't that what you are supposed to do in a 2 minute offense conserve Timeouts. I don't know in whose world is it a guarantee you are going to score 40 seconds later.. Guy at this point is just answering without even thinking how stupid it sounds... Figures a response will be accepted no matter how obtuse it is.

What are you talking about
Don't have crayons to draw you the necessary picture you need to understand Boooby....
-
Not the scorched earth a lot of us wanted
-
Wait pitt QB had the ball in his hands to win a gAme he did it.
Ours didnt so blame defense got it.
And again dont know how many times i have to say it defense is a problem and needs to be addressed. THAT DOESNT MEAN the QB is not a problem
Tyrod Ball in hand to win in Seattle LOST
Tyrod Ball in hand to win MIA LOST
2 wins = playoffs. See still a problem. Fix the problem
Tyrod ball in hand 90 yards and 4 minutes put Bills in lead. Defense-Lost

It isn't a great thing to say, but I can't get over his age. He'll be coaching the Bills at 71. He came off three really really bad years in NY where his teams gave up on him. All that with a borderline HOF QB.
The game passes everyone by in my opinion, including coaches.
Two years grooming Lynn and then Lynn takes over?
-
Any updates on this? I really don't want Coughlin.
Coughlin with Lynn as OC and assistant head coach
-
I hear you. I was referring specifically to the coaches. Last time we had a really good thing with Schwartz (say what you want about his success elsewhere, but he succeeded here) and didn't make him a priority. Now we have a really good thing with this offensive system, don't want to see that regress.
In short, I don't want to be a dog chasing its tail for another 20yrs seeing the defense be good with a crap offense and a good offense with a crap defense. We need to build on what already works, and fix what doesn't work at the same time.
This will be the 3rd HC Whaley is involved in hiring... Couldn't get a long with the other 2... Third time the charm?
Tyrod Taylor - pick up the option

Thing is a top 5 passing attack would come at the expense of rushing attempts. Lots of folks around here cant grasp that causation of total yards is attempts.
