  1. Break the bank... sign Cousins. He's in his prime and will solidify the position for 4-5 years. Keep drafting QB's.
  2. Agreed... and this is why Tyrod and his shortcomings should be back next year.
  3. If available, I'd sign him in a minute, but he won't hit the market. The only reason he's not locked in with the Skins is because he wants more guaranteed money than they're offering and he's willing to take the risk of going year to year.
  4. Don't get the point Vic is trying to make here. The structure he's criticizing is pretty much every team in the AFC North and many other notable franchises including the Packers. Let Whaley pick his coach and run football operations. If it doesn't work out then he moves on...
  5. 1. Give me a coach that is a great communicator. No more duds who can't be bothered informing media about player injuries because THEY messed up in the past and are insecure. 2. Develop an offense around the players that you have. Scheme doesn't matter as much as flexibility. 3. Work with your GM. Folks are bagging on Whaley, but I'm more than willing to defer to a guy that has seen how a winning franchise operates in the front office and on the field.
  6. Agreed. Living in the DC area, I get to see the difference between the way the Ravens do business vs. Dan Snyder and it's night and day. Terry and Kim should def. be involved in this search. It was interesting to hear how Harbough is not a know-it-all and still seeks others opinion and they work as a team. Owner, Team Pres., GM, Asst GM, and Coach work as a team! Marrone did not sound like that kind of team player.
  7. Ditto. Here's an interview with Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti discussing his hiring of John Harbough. Take note Terry and Kim.
  8. I just want someone who will manage the team. I would like a coach that knows what he wants to do on both sides of the ball and I'm not sure I've seen or read about that in regards to Lovie...
  9. Sigh... If they are using analytics to rate coaches, I wonder how they feel about Lovie's poor clock management and 17% challenge success rate. The last thing we need is another coach who can manage the clock and make sound decisions.
  10. I'm dead serious... I can spend my life worrying about what people think about my co-workers or I can do my job effectively and let them keep sucking air. If Trent doesn't understand that better play and leadership will shut up his critics then he won't make it in this league. Plain and simple.
  11. My sentiments exactly. What a bore... Jim said what was on his mind (jokingly) and Trent's "offended"? When our QB is worried about Bills legends comments about the quality of QB produced from a certain state, he is not focused enough on improving his game, IMO. Some of these players are the biggest bunch of whiners... Trent & Co. need to be talking about how they are going to be better in 2010.
  12. I learn to accept Gailey as HC, but please change the clown suits...
  13. It's sounds crazy, but I'm not really sure that's a requirement for this guy. Harbaugh is doing it in Baltimore and Levy did it here. Here are my favorite Grimm stories. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/...ards-grimm.html "Grimm is old school and demanding but has created a close-knit group that has adopted the coach's philosophy. They have been schooled to understand their position is not for those seeking fame and glory, but for stoic men content with anonymity and a job well done." http://www.examiner.com/x-450-Washington-R...kins-head-coach "...I remember going to training camp up in Carlisle in 1992, Grimm's first year as an assistant to Gibbs. Just prior to practice players were milling around the end zone catting and joking around. Out of nowhere a huge Ford Bronco--not the little one the big curb stomping mini-monster truck-- drives up right into the middle of end zone. Players scatter and stare. Grimm steps out of the driver's seat, pulls a wad of chewing tobacco from his mouth, chucks it to the ground and says "let's hit it." The players jumped to attention and got to practicing. "
  14. I hope Grimm gets a real shot. I don't want him for his offensive prowess, I want him because he's a leader with a strong personality. You can bring in any coordinators, but the HC needs to set the tone and Grimm will bring a toughness that this team hasn't seen since the 90's.
  15. I'm not sure the point here... The Raven's won the SB in 2000. Either Billick gets the credit as coach, since Ozzie wasn't making the decisions all by himself or you give them both credit. You can't call that squad Ozzie's team if you don't think he was drafting them. Being in MD, the Raven's are my other team and while Billick never pulled it together on offense, he was still a damn good coach. In addition Billick's got a nice little coaching tree that's blooming: Del Rio, Lewis, Rex Ryan, Mike Smith, and Singletary... I'm just sayin'
  16. Just remember Ted Marchibroda had Ozzie drafting for him to. Perhaps a few more players on our team could be all-pro's with the right coach.
  17. Billick, without question is confident. Some will view this as arrogance, but the Ravens didn't get their swagger from Ray Lewis alone. If Billick can be that successful in his first try at being a head coach while not developing a dynamic offense then I would be very interested in watching what he does on his second go round. My only real concern with Billick is the lack of discipline his teams had at times. Veterans without question got special privileges in Baltimore and he is not a Parcells type disciplinarian, BUT that doesn't have to be the case (right Marv?). Simply put I'd like to see the Bills hire someone who won't get outcoached on Sunday's like Jauron and Mularkey did on a regular basis. He can hold his own against Belichick and he is better than Ryan and Sparano. He is comfortable with his D coordinators running the 4-3 or 3-4. He's not a Tampa 2 guy and likes his teams to attack on defense and to be able to run the ball. Sounds perfect to me...
  18. Kelly said it best when he said we have a fresh opportunity with the start of a new decade. I say we trash the last ten years by burning these uniforms and expelling the last few remnants (Guy and Modrak) of the Donahue era! If I'm asking too much then just dump the road uni's PLEASE!
  19. Why do I even bother... check out the pic. Seau is 6-3 and Bress is 6-0. Moon pic w/ Junior Seau and Drew Brees
  20. Just as a point of reference, Warren Moon is 6-3.
  21. Hey, I just asked was he THAT bad? He must have done something right for Al Saunders to want to keep him around. Second guessing is easy when we're still looking for the successor to Jimbo nearly 10 years later.
  22. Interesting read. I know Collins was bad, but was he THAT bad? It's amazing that he has stuck around the league for this long. Collins Is an Expert in His Field
  23. If the Rams offense is any indication of what we can expect, I'm going to go out on a limb and say we don't need a pass catching TE.
