  2. re: Training Camp "Dick Jauron believes in “controlled contact,” meaning nobody really gets tackled." "Speaking of Wells, he gave us some interesting nuggets today... Any player involved in a fight in practice will be fined $610 dollars. Why not just $600 or $650? Wells went on to explain that Dick Jauron likes those weird numbers. Last year Wells was late for practice one day because of a snow storm and was fined $495. If a player is over weight, he’s fined $151 per pound. Other fineable offenses include riding a motorcycle and chewing tobacco. " - Source re: Young QB's "In choosing to go with Cade McNown full-time, Jauron not only cost this year’s squad any hope of the post-season, but also may have stifled the development of McNown, stopping him from becoming the franchise quarterback he was drafted to be." - Source re: Starting QB's during his Bears tenure Shane Matthews Cade McNown Jim Miller Chris Chandler Rex Grossman Kordell Stewart re: Dick "He’s still an enigma. Jauron is either stupid (probably not, as he played at Yale) or exceedingly willing to build for the future at the likely cost of the present. His team (15-9-1 as an underdog) has usually fought hard for him, even though many players have objected to his insistence on playing the youthful and unpopular Cade McNown at QB." - Source
  3. Sure it's a promotion, but it just strikes me as a Heimerdinger situation. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  4. So Mike Caldwell isn't good enough to be our HC, but he would he settle for being our OC?
  5. I'm putting my vote in for a Bobby April (HC), Steve Fairchild (OC), Rod Marinelli (DC) combination.
  6. However, it is my understanding that Madden 2006 on PC won't be based on the next gen engine. Prob. next year.
  7. I hear ya', but I can't wait until fall 2006 and for Sony to develop the equivalent of Xbox Live. Next Gen Madden - Nov. 05. Can't wait!
  8. In this clip, you can see Qwest Field (Seahawks home) and a shot of EA's Shaun Alexander player model. This game is shaping up well! EA's Next Gen Offerings (Madden) The Madden clips begin at 0:11 sec. and 1:17 sec. in.
  9. It's still wait and see for me. According to Axis, an animation studio in the UK," the trailer was made to the specification of the next-generation hardware and is representative of the look and feel of the actual game."
  10. Those image/video are "visual targets" for the next gen systems, with Xbox 360 being the first next gen console to drop this year. PS3 and Nintendo Revolution will hit in 2006. We'll see how close they can come and how powerful the next Xbox will be @ E3.
  11. It's interesting that the Bills valued Anderson more than Keydrick Vincent, who signed a three-year, $4.64 million contract with the Ravens. As a Raven's season ticket holder, I'm interested in seeing what magic Mouse can pull out of Big (false start) Bennie. Ah well...

  13. Pure speculation or inside scoop? CBS Sportline: Strategy and personnel
  14. Not to be a Ravens apologist, but they are my "home" team. The Ravens offensive numbers speak for themselves. Ravens offensive rank during Matt Cavanaugh's six years: 1999, 24th, 298.6 2000, 16th, 313.4 2001, 14th, 320.3 2002, 24th, 289.9 2003, 21st, 308.1 2004, 31st, 273.4 Also regarding Fassel, he joined the Ravens to stay involved in the league, but he was not the offensive coordinator. He was strictly brought in as an offensive consultant to work with Boller and provide suggestions for the offense. His contract ended in December. *just for the record*
  15. Phil Savage - Baltimore Ravens. 'nuff said.
  16. We'll see what the bye can do for us... I'm betting on a win against the Pats.
  17. I can't... the prospects of another losing season are too painful.
  18. While this seasons performance thus far has made me question Tom Donahoe's ability to put together a NFL roster, we still can turn this season around. We have a bye week coming up and then we begin division play. If we can beat New England, New York, and Miami, we will be right in the thick of things. Big dreams, sure, but stranger things have happened.
