Kelly H. gets the start against Carolina. JP gets the start against the Bengals. Will Craig Nall get the start this week? If not, I don't think this is really a true competition for QB. In fact, I think they ought to start Kingsbury in the 4th preseason game. That way we get to see what each QB can do with the first team offense, then the coaches can make their decision on who they want to go with. The NFL and NCAA college football are pure politics. They say races are wide open and that the best man will win, but usually that's just PR jargon.

If this season is a downer, which I hope it isn't, and we're picking in the top 5 in next year's draft, would you take Quinn or Leak as the QB of the Bills? Honestly, I hope Losman does GREAT this year and this question is a mute one. However, for fun, who would you rather have?

Losman seemed to run the two minute drill real nicely against the Panthers last night. I say we bring back the no huddle attack of the 90's and see what Losman can do with it. What do we have to lose?

When did you become a Bills fan?
major replied to BILLSBACKERINLA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It all started for me in 1989 when the Bills lost to the Browns in the playoffs. I live in Texas and it was the first time I had seen the Bills on TV in our area. I remember telling my parents after they lost that this was my team. The next week my parents bought me my first Bills tshirt and the rest they say is history. I have supported them ever since. I remember going to school in 1990 telling everyone that my Bills were going to the Super Bowl. Teachers and classmates thought I was crazy, yet my dream came true. I used to tell my dad that the Bills were going to the Super Bowl every year until they won it. I was almost right. When the Bills didn't go to Super Bowl 29, I was crushed. I'm still waiting, as are all of you, for that special Bills team to come along and win the big one. Personally, I would love to see Marv and Ralph win that Super Bowl ring before they pass away. Hey, the Red Sox did it; therefore, anything is possible. -
With Nall's injury, do you think Kingsbury will get a shot to win the starting job now? He's got quite an arm on him and I feel he deserves a shot. I don't have a favorite, I just want to see the best person under center come September. If Nall is seriously hurt, do the Bills go get another QB in the market to compete for the job? If so, who do you think that should be?

I'm looking forward to this season. I know we probably won't be going to the Super Bowl this year, but it will be fun to see this team grow. I will hate it if and when we lose games this season, but I think Marv and Dick are building a team that is going to be fun to watch over the next few years. I guess you could say I'm optimistic.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with our draft. However, I thought we would select a few positions on the offensive side of the board (backup RB, FB, another QB to compete for the job when Holcomb hits the streets looking for work). We needed defensive help; however, we aren't exactly an offensive powerhouse. Someone help me out here, do you think we're going to go into free agency looking to pick up offensive help? If we don't, I guess we're going with the Bears game plan that Jauron implemented in Chicago.

If Vince Young is there, what do we do?

YOU TAKE HIM! I HOPE BY THIS TIME TOMORROW I'M TRYING TO ORDER A BUFFALO BILLS VINCE YOUNG JERSEY FROM BB.COM -
Who was the corner we had in the 1980's nicknamed "RADAR"? I don't remember his name and it's been bugging me. Someone help me out here. Thanks.

I have always said, always, that I would never move the team from Buffalo. Now with this new collective bargaining agreement, I’m hopeful that I can steadfastly adhere to what I’ve said, but I’m making no promises,” said Wilson. This "no promises" line makes me wonder what Wilson is up to. Is he telling us that he's going to move the team to LA if he doesn't get what he wants from the league? Or is he just trying to get the sympathy vote from the NFL powers that be? Or, is he ready to sell? Whatever his motivation, his "no promises" makes me uneasy.

I love watching Buffalo football and have for years. In fact, I love reading your posts on this site because your opinions are more thought provoking and funny than anything I hear on sports radio (which very rarely focuses on sports). However, do you ever think our obsession with the Bills borders on idol worship? Trust me, I think it's ok to follow a team and support them (it's all for fun anyway). Yet, I'm troubled at the idol worship I see people across our world having with sports. We don't have enough money for education or for improving our schools, yet we seem to make sure our stadiums are of the highest quality. I guess it speaks to our values as a nation and a world. Sports figures get paid millions while teachers, police officers, and fire fighters make their living in the $35,000 to $50,000 range. When is the last time we were glued to the TV or internet to make sure our police officers received their bonus checks? Personally, I believe the only thing we should truly worship is JESUS. That being said, I believe Jesus gave us the FREEDOM to enjoy sports. However, I think we sometimes take it too far where it becomes the most important thing in our life. Do you agree or disagree?

Two years back, I remember Quincy Carter getting booted from the Cowboys for testing positive for drugs. Does anyone know where this guy is playing now? I'm surprised he hasn't resurfaced again on an NFL team as a backup. I do remember him getting the Cowboys to the playoffs. Help me out, where is he now?

For those who want to draft one of the top 3 QBS
major replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see: (1) Leinart was a national champion at USC. (2) Vince Young was a national champion at Texas. (3) Cutler didn't do too much in college. (4) Losman played for a lousy Tulane team. I'd say two of these are a step up from Losman. -
4 words Bills fans must understand, NOW!

Good post. I agree. No playoffs this year. -
MSNBC is reporting that Eric Moulds might be a good fit for Dallas, instead of TO, seeing as how Drew and Eric played together in Buffalo. Has anyone else heard this rumor?

Mort says Brees is in Miami right now

Why do you want the Saints to draft a QB? Just curious what your rationale is. -
Your question is a no brainer. You take Young, Leinart, or Cutler.
-
Who cares about a WONDERLIC score? All I care about is championships. Which is what he brought to the University of Texas and what he'll bring to whatever NFL team takes him in this year's draft. Oh how I wish Buffalo would have lost a few more games last year so that we'd be in a position to take this guy.
-
Sign Aaron Brooks now! Aaron Brooks at QB would also help JP develop, seeing as how they have some similarities in style of play.
-
I hope Jauron gives Woodbury a shot to win the QB job next season. They say it will be an open competition; however, I rarely see that actually happen in the NFL.

I remember in 1991, the day after Super Bowl 25, people were cheering for Scott Norwood at the downtown rally after he missed the biggest kick in Bills history. I remember thinking that day that "BILLS" fans were the most positive fans around. I'm sure the night before, most fans wanted to kill Norwood; however, the scene that next day was something I'll remember forever. It was a "BILLS" moment I'll never forget. It showed me how cool we really are. What has happened to that positive attitude amongst Bills fans? Is it still around or has everyone become too negative?
-
Upon further review, I will give Jauron a chance. Last night, I said that I was probably not going to renew my NFL Sunday Ticket due to this recent hiring. The truth of the matter is this, no matter how bad the Bills are, I always have renewed hope every September. I keep coming back because I want to be there when this team wins the Super Bowl, of which they eventually will. The Bills are my team, good or bad, and I will indeed renew my Sunday Ticket to watch my Bills every week, as I've done every year in past. GO BILLS IN 2006.
-
Seeing as how I live out of Buffalo, the only way I can watch our Bills is by purchasing the NFL Sunday Ticket every year. With this apparent head coaching hire, I'm probably not going to buy the ticket next year. If I feel this way about watching it on TV, I can't imagine what season ticket holders are going through right now. I hope the Buffalo media asks some tough questions at the interview tomorrow to Marv and Ralph. I don't believe we are committed to winning. If we keep going this direction, it's off to Los Angeles for this franchise in a few years. I hate the thought of that.
-
I hope Marv and Ralph keep interviewing every possible candidate (Tice, Martz, Fassell, Reeves, etc...) before settling. Personally, I would like to see Sherman get the job. Do the Bills have any future interviews scheduled, other than Jauron and Sherman?
-
If Ralph wants to win immediately, he needs to break out his checkbook and sign a high priced quality coach and some high priced free agents. Ralph says he wants to win immediately; however, he doesn't pony up the cash to make that happen. It's time for us to stop shopping at Wal Mart for coaches and players.
