For eight years, I have watched our Bills on the NFL Sunday ticket. Last season I decided it wasn't worth spending $300 plus on per year. I am trying to find ways to save $ with the economy we have. Sad to say, after the Bills performance each week, I'm glad I saved my money. I probably won't get it next year. Anyone else do the same thing with season tickets, individual game tickets, NFL Sunday ticket, etc. this past season? I get the feeling a lot of Bills fans are going to start cutting back on the Bills if this team doesn't make some serious strides.

Putting butts in seats, selling concessions, and people purchasing your team's merchandise is the key to any successful business venture in sports. Any businessman or woman will tell you that it's hard to keep a customer base coming back to your store when the product you offer them is less than satisfactory. Come Monday morning, we will learn of Jauron's firing on the way to work or over breakfast and then we will all have a renewed sense of hope in the future of our Bills. Regardless of who the new coach will be, this will cause us to show up again next season in full force (aka - spending more $ on this product). For example, whoever we choose with the 1st pick in the NFL draft will result in that particular jersey being purchased countless times between the draft and the start of the regular season. It's all about making money (always has been) and that's what I feel Ralph will base his decision on come Monday morning. If he does what I think he will do, I'll think of Nick Nolte's line from the movie BLUE CHIPS: "There goes HAPPY, headed for the cash machine".

I've never been able to get used to calling our stadium "RALPH WILSON" or "THE RALPH". I can still hear Miller saying "welcome to Rich Stadium" in my mind. It will always be Rich to me. If our team is so strapped for cash that we have to play one game per year in Toronto, why didn't Ralph sell the naming rights to the stadium a few years back instead of naming it after himself.

EX NFL Coaches that could land in Buffalo: Steve Mariucci or Jim Fassel. Butch Davis also comes to mind. Anyone else think of any that could possibly wind up in Buffalo? I don't think Ralph will spend what it takes to bring in Bill Cowher. Ralph is all about selling seats; therefore, DJ is gone Monday morning. Then we can rebuild yet again. I feel like we are in the Bills version of Groundhog Day.

I enjoy this board. It's fun to speculate on who we should have drafted last year, who we should draft this year, why we collapsed this year, whether or not we should fire our coach, who the QB should be and why, debating whether we should renew our tickets or not, etc... The questions we bring up are for the most part legit; however, remember who is at the top when you ask those questions. The elephant in the room is RALPH WILSON - every question we bring up from day-to-day goes directly back to him. Ralph hires the personnel that makes the decisions that affect us on the field. Detroit sucks because of their owner. The Raiders suck because of their owner. Look at every franchise that struggles and ask yourself how many coaches they've had in a 10 year span. If it's more than one, you probably have a losing franchise. Ask yourself, who hires and fires those coaches and you're back to the elephant in the room. I like Ralph because he created this team that I love, because he has kept it in Buffalo, etc... However, I know he's the one responsible for the product we currently have.

Ralph is the reason we suck. Just like Al Davis is the reason the Raiders suck. Look at any business, it starts at the top.

Ralph says the Bills don't have enough talent

After the Bills loss to Miami. -
Ralph thinks we don't have enough talent on the field to win games. He needs to look in the mirror. RALPH is the one that lacks talent at his job. It starts at the top. He is in control of every major move of this organization. If he doesn't think we have enough talent on the field, then he needs to go out and buy the big name players every time free agency comes around. The truth is, he's not going to do that. He'll just keep firing coaches and laying blame at the players feet. For once, I'd like to hear him come out and say he's responsible for this mess we have had since the late 90's.

What is the worst Bills jersey you ever purchased?
major posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rob Johnson is my all time worst jersey purchase. Yours? -
Once Jerry Jones dumps Wade at the end of the season, Ralph could always bring him back. However, Ralph would probably hire him and then refuse to pay him again, just for old times sake. Heck, we ought to kick the tires on Mularkey one more time. Seriously though, once I start to think about all of the decisions of the Bills front office over the past 10 to 15 years, I realize that our ship really has no rudder.

“It’s huge,” said Trent Edwards. “I’m very, very excited about coach Jauron getting extended. That just shows the effort that he’s put into this organization and that just shows the backing that the organization has for him. I’m very, very excited that he’s here for the next… a three-year extension is what I heard.” “That puts a lot of the players in this locker room at ease knowing that our head coach is going to be here and he’s not going anywhere else. He’s ours and we’re going to play for him the rest of this season the next three following that. So it’s nice to have that set aside and it’s very, very well deserved I would say too.” Ouch! I wonder if Trent wishes he had that interview back?

Someone needs to remind Donte of that guarantee. Wonder what he would say now if a reporter brought that up from this past summer? I'm glad he said it back then and I'm glad he believed it; however, I wish the coaching staff and some other players would have worked towards the same goal that he had.

I saw on the NFL today that Marty S could possibly be going back to Cleveland as their HC. Hurry up Ralph! Bring Marty ball to Buffalo.
-
In the offseason, I say we make a trade for Vince Young. The titans are going to unload him and I think he'd be a great backup to Edwards. Reminder, for all those who say he isn't NFL material, I would remind you that he took the Titans to the playoffs the past two years.

I hope Losman does great! I will be wearing his jersey with pride. Unlike most, I support whoever our QB is on game day (LOSMAN OR EDWARDS).
-
If Ralph feels that time is running out on him ever seeing a winning team, he will sell this team while he is still alive. Trust me.

Bills need to either draft or sign a QB

AMEN! -
If Bush really wants to make headlines that would tie directly to the Bills, he could pardon OJ Simpson.
-
We will make the playoffs with a 10-6 record (we will be the wild card). We will beat the cleveland browns, the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers, the miami dolphins, and the New York Jets. Things look bleak now, due to our division losses, but we'll get back in the win column next Monday night and keep rolling to 10 wins.

I'm watching the Bills preseason game. Just curious if anyone was going to watch the olympics instead?

I know I'm beating a dead horse; however,

The NFL in 2008 is all about winning now, and making money while doing it. Favre gives us the best chance to get to a Super Bowl this year and he will generate revenue for our team. My ESPN comment was all about hype. I don't care if ESPN loves us or not. I do care about our team being noticed again on the big stage, which again will bring us revenue and make us relevant. I am a huge supporter of Trent Edwards and JP Losman (a rarity on this board). I hope they take us to a Super Bowl. However, I think Favre gives us the best chance of doing that in 2008. Sad to say, the NFL isn't about grooming young talent for the future. I wish it was like the 80's and early 90's again, with players staying around for the long haul. But it isn't and that is why I want to win now with Favre. -
With the reinstatement letter being faxed in to the league office, the Packers are about to get desperate and give Favre away. I say: bring the Favre circus to BUFFALO. Let Trent learn for two years from one of the best. We would be a national phenomenon- at least for one year. ESPN would have us front and center all season. Deep down you know he'd win more games for us than Trent or JP will. SIGN HIM TONIGHT!
-
Aaron Rodgers should demand a trade if Favre comes back. Favre and the packers organization has really screwed this up for Rodgers. He seems to be a QB with a lot of potential (See Dallas vs. Green Bay game from last November). Can you imagine the crap this guy will get if he's the starter and Favre is the backup. The crowd would be chanting Favre all game. Sad situation.

Ever meet a Buffalo Bills player?
major replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I met Darryl Talley about a week and a half ago. He looked great and still in playing shape. He seemed surprised that someone recognized him. I thanked him for all of his playing days in Buffalo. Sad to say, he seemed to be flirting with a 16 year old girl when I came up to say something to him. -
I have been thinking about buying a Bills in Toronto tshirt from the Jays Shop at the Rogers Center; however, I just can't bring myself to actually purchase one. It might be a cool keepsake, but my tshirts say BUFFALO and that is how I like it. I feel that if I buy one, I'm encouraging them to move our team. Did anyone on this board buy one? Or, do you plan on buying one? I wonder how the sales of these have been going in Toronto. If this has already been posted, I apologize. I have been out of pocket lately.
