  1. WOW, all this talk of wings is making me anxious. I really can't eat the GREAT Buffalo junk food like I used too. In ways that is good, but in a conversation like this, it is BAD. I also miss the Mikes Subs and Louis Texas Hots, but right now, any of this would put me away for a few days.
  2. Would I trade for Drew Brees???? I guess I would have to know who the Head Coach and the Offensive Coordinator are. mularley's "system" NEEDS two QBs. The only time he didn't injure a QB was when Bledsoe played for him last year; otherwise, mularkey's "system" is primarily a QB killer. So if mularkey is "coaching", I would have to say a big NO for Brees. Next issue is the o-line. I really think this is still more of a mularkey issue than what people want to believe; for the mear fact that, last year, mularkey had McNally right next to him ALL THE TIME. This year, mularkey has distanced himself from most position coaches. Looking at him on the sidelines, there is no one near him, except for maybe clements. The o-line relies heavily on communications, that includes communications and understanding with playcalling. I don't see mularkey as any kind of a good communicator. Another example is his inability to address the media and fans.
  3. Ron Wolfe or Prioli (he apparently is looking around) along with the right HC for the situation could change this club into a TEAM a lot sooner than many may think. Actually Pittsburgh DOES have a pretty good HC canidate, RUSS GRIMM. He was an all pro guard for the Redskins back a few years ago. Presently, he is the o-line coach and Assistant Head Coach for Pittsburgh. The guy is known to be a no nonense type coach, that demands excellence and discipline. I read somewhere, I think FOXSports, that Grimm is the prefect canditate for a locker room in total chaos where the "veterans" are running the show instead of the coach. This is not a word for word description, but very close. Grimm was interviewed for the Head Coaching position in both Cleveland and Detroit, if memory serves me correctly. AND he is a finalist for the Hall of Fame. Maybe Ralph will be talking with him very soon. Grimm, of course, would be a horrible match for donahoe, but a new GM could do very well with him. The Bills are a perfect match by the description I read; demanding respect, being a former player, a Hall of Famer finalist, that wouldn't put up with BULL from the veterans. HE would run the players, not the way mularkey handles his players, or more appropriately, the way the players handle mularkey.
  4. IMHO, Mike Williams is heading for retirement at the end of the season. Apparently, he talked about retirement a few years ago and someone on the Bills talked him out of it. Do I have a link????? NOPE, this is all hear say, unless someone else has a link. What really leads me to look at this is he has no heart into the game what so ever. He has been out with a "chest" or a "back" problem for the last 5 or 6 weeks. The way mularkey presents it every week is extremely suspecious, plus, I don't think Williams is even practicing. He just seems to be content with his signing bonuse and wants out. He is a rich man, why waste part of his life getting beat up??? With his size, all that extra weight is hurting him, emotionally and physically.
  5. I BILLieve you make a very valid point. Not only do we have a QB killing coach, but he doesn't want it to physically happen, just mentally and emotionally. In all seriousness, mularkey is rotating QBs, four games in, four games out. It is the o-line that is letting the QB killing happen in the physical aspect. Our QBs have been beat up pretty bad. It is kind of funny, Bledsoe was too reliable, he was able to take hit after hit after hit after hit. In mularkey's "system" the QBs will be casualties;therefore, he needs more than one QB. It was expected that Bledsoe would go down; thus, giving Losman more experience, but Bledsoe didn't comply. As a consequence, the ultimate plan to bring Losman along was screwed up. IF mularkey is here next year, look for Holcomb to start for 4 games, then to have Losman start for 4 games. And they will alternate. I BILLieve this is called MOOball.
  6. You wanna know something???? I don't see the Holcomb's club or the Losman's club from either of the QBs, only one WR and one TE. I think both Holcomb and Losman understand their positions, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Both seem to want to stay away from the "starting QB" controversy and have said as much. The only "players" jawing really only seem to want to pad stats, because, YES Holcomb's experience gives him better quick reads and releases. BUT without experience, Losman won't get that in Buffalo. The other controversy creators are the fans themselves. To me, it defeats the purpose of rooting for a TEAM.
  7. The advertising indicates he is also a pretty darned good inside pass rusher. That is one thing I really haven't seen him doing. Oregon is stopping the run very well, but the Oklahoma QB has time to pass and he is making completions.
  8. The guy I am just as impressed with is Chris Chester , the Oklahoma RG that seems to be doing a good job containing Haloti Ngata, single handedly sometimes.
  9. I've been watching and the guy is doubled teamed ALL the time. He still is pushing both blockers backwards sometimes, but he really hasn't got any pressure. On one sack, Oklahoma I think was triple teaming letting the guy that got the sack pretty free. He also shows quite a bit of energy and doen't give up on plays. He was persuing a RB after the play went to the other side of the field. The game is early, but he doesn't give up.
  10. OHHHHHHHHH, I widh you didn't say that. The Bills had the #2 D for two years in a row and we saw how that turned out. This season was SUPPOSED to be the season to rely on the D and Special Teams while the Offense was supposed to get their act together with a young, new QB. That didn't happen.
  11. Well that is good, but how long was he there??? I think they just went Div IA two years ago. OK, I was wrong that he hasn't had a coaching job since his time with the Bills, but he was only here a year, maybe two. That seems to be his MO, one year then fired. I guess I go back to the observation, is he really credible????
  12. I remember when Dickerson was the o-line coach back in the early 1990s. Marv Levy fired him after a season. The "coach" was never a stand up type of coach; therefore, he definitely was not a Marv Levy type of coach. That was back in the days when the Bills were respectible, especially for bringing out the talent in the players. The thing I wonder is that he never was hired as a coach by any other club, professional or college. That does not say much for his abilities; as a consequence, I really question his jibberish.
  13. You make a good point!!!!! The Buffalo fans ARE an educated, football knowledgable bunch. MM and TD may be really condensnding towards out observations and figure we may not know much, but they are........shall we say disillusioned??? I BILLieve you are correct in that many writers do come into message boards to get ideas and to get a feel for fan opinion. I will say, TBD is probably the most open minded place that provides good analysis to back up opinion.
  14. IMHO, the Bills are going thru a great amount of chaos and confusion. A week ago, I felt most players were giving up, packing their bags, and waiting to get back to their real homes. The last game demonstrated that they still do have some pride and not all of them are paycheck collectors. Sure, I question the motive of many players, but that single win showed to me that they all haven't rolled over. One game does not make a season, but the one win made me upgrade my opinion of this club from the worst in franchise history, to one of the worst. That may not sound very positive, but one week ago, THE WORST meant worse than 1968, 1971, 1984, 1985, 2001 and 2002. Who on this club came to play this year???? Holcomb (knew his place and performed as needed) Losman (Preparation was unmatched, too bad it didn't translate to a Roth type season) Preston (Rookie of the Year) Villerial (Even being as injured as he was, he still tried to be a leader) Gandy (Probably the most consistent lineman this year) Peters (TE, Special Teams, Left Tackle, Right Tackle) Evans (Definitely the most exciting offensive playmaker) Parrish (Still learning but not scared off) Schoebel (two digit sacks again) Anderson (second most improved over the season) Adams (most challenging defensive player) Fletcher (Emotional leader after Spikes went out) Crowell (Most imnproved player) McGee (Most exciting player on defense) Vincent (Tutor) Lindell (as much as I hate to say it, the most pleasant surprise) Aiken (Special Teams ace) Stamer (Special Teams ace) Haggan (Special Teams ace) Leonhard (Heart and Pride) King (Many different assignments for the D, probably the most learned) Moorman (Heart and Pride - only Pro Bowler) Greer (Special Teams ace) Reed (as much as I hate to say it, the second most pleasant surprise) Bobby April (The only real coach on this club) Mind you, this is ONLY my opinion. Is this the worst season??? Not any more, BUT close. The off season will be interesting.
  15. You asking for input is a really great thing and greatly appreciated. As I said before, this place is very "user"/customer oriented, not all places value the users like TBD. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I'll tell you what the win meant for me: 1) I accussed this club of being the worst in franchise history; just for the mere fact that, even in worse record seasons, the Bills were always able to come up with one big win, or two. 2) The win showed they actually do have some heart. 3) The win showed they actually do have some pride. 4) After seeing every single season in franchise history, the win was one of to biggest upsets and eventhough mularkey said he was only happy for the players, many of the players said they were happy for the fans. 5) The win showed they MAY not be as bad as they have looked all season. 6) The win shows the players have not given up totally and some of them do have some respect for their profession. 7) The win shows the "coaches" can plan for a game. All said and done, the question I ask is: Did they win to help with their pride issues, or did they win because their jobs are on the line????
  17. As Clumping Platlets caught, the bonuses cannot be averaged over the next two years because of the impending possible contract problems from the Players Union. Because of this, his signing bonuses will be counted in their entirety in 2006 if he is cut. Thanks Clumping for the contracts page you maintain over in the BillsZone, and for your experteise in the cap.
  18. Yep, sorry. Different board, different dynamics. I am active on some other boards as well, and similiar polls show a resounding want for mulakey to leave.
  19. That could very very well be true, BUT Saban has THE top o-line coach and he doesn't have the interference that the front office is providing for Buffalo. Saban is building his T-E-A-M from the inside out, well he is at least doing a hell of a lot better consistancy wise than donahoe has done in the last 5 years: Two HC's (2 Rookies), four Offensive Coordinators (2 Rookies), 4 Offensive Systems (1 unknown from this year), 2-3 Defensive Coordinators (1 Rookie), 3 Defensive Systems (Williams, LeBeau, Gray), and how many o-line coaches???? 5 o-line coaches (if Verducci is included). I realize that we are talking coaches, but in Buffalo's case, donahoe micromanages the head coaching position; therefore, he can be classified as the head coach.
  20. I pray that the next president and Ralph Wilson realize that 1 game doesn't make a season. I BILLieve this was the ONLY game this season that they won in a convincing manner. It is too bad this didn't come in game two or three or four or five. Is this a TEAM or is it a club of individual "me" players that are not coached adaquetly???? We all know this is no TEAM, so........
  21. If we keep the clown, he will cost $10.814Million for 2006 without restructuring. If we cut the clown, the cap hit will be $4.907Million for ONLY 2006, then we are free of any further hits after 2006.
  22. Isn't it amazing how badly most people want donahoe to leave, but yet we are supporting him by buying all his merchandise???? I got a T-Shirt with a standing Buffalo, from my two girls, and absolutely love it.
  23. Did anyone see irvin get into it with Mike Ditka ????? irvin was literally screaming at Ditka and Mike just looked the other way with this look; what a moron, he won't be back thank goodness!!!!!
  24. I am getting the impression, fakes, Camouflage, Disguises, gimmicks are the way Mularkey wants to run this club. The problem with all this crap is that you have to play actors, not real football players. The defense is geared strictly on disguising different blitzes. The players have been plaeding to go back to base formations that let the players play their natural positions. The offense has a lot of these cutsie little plays. They were successful with some last year, but now Mularkey is relying on them rather than playing the basic plays. When these "coaches" go back and put the players in the best position to win, the players react. Just look at the D yesterday. Yes, KC has a line that is hurting, it still is better than the Bills. BUT with the KC line, the Bills d-line was getting all sortes of pressure without having to blitz. Maybe the "coaches" should just ask the players to be players and not actors.
