HOW ARE PLAYERS SELECTED FOR THE NFL COMBINE? Participants are determined annually by a Selection Committee comprised of seven members. The Directors of both National and Blesto scouting services, which combined represent twenty-six NFL teams, are joined by five members of various NFL player personnel departments to form the committee. The team members can rotate on a yearly basis, but remain anonymous. All eligible players are reviewed and voted on by the committee members. Each athlete receiving the necessary number of votes, by position, is then extended an invitation. While it is not a perfect science, the goal of the committee is to invite every player that will be drafted in the ensuing NFL Draft. hmmmm...

He's made all-conference teams and may end up being the all time leading reciever from the TE spot. He has NFL size (6'3" 255lbs), NFL speed (4.6 40 time), and for what it's worth he's a good citizen. I'm just wondering if we need to send out videos, or other forms of media to get noticed?

Well, being 34 I don't think I fall into the younger part but I suppose that depends on perspective. Growing up, my favorite team was the Cowboys(lets face it, it was my dads team and my parents dressed me in cowboys gear and bought me dallas paraphanalia). He was a huge Tom Landry fan(?). When pre-facelift Jones bought the team and unceremoniously ditched landry, my old man was pissed. So our family jumped ship, and started to root for the local team. Thank God because I don't know any Cowboy fans I'd like to share a beer with.

Anyone who posts here have any friends or family that got a sniff of the NFL coming from D III football? I know the chances are remote but I'm curious as to what steps need to be taken to attract the attention of scouts.

Well, the sox went on that 12 or 13 game winning streak before the break and I suppose it was just the law of averages. The A's are good. The Sox pitching is in dire straits. They need help bad. Wakefield's back is acting up. Lester can't throw less than 20 pitches an inning. Jason Johnson and Kyle Snyder had double digit ERA's. Beckett is in a race with big Papi for most HR's. At least we got loudmouth Shilling to gut one out every 5 days.
