  1. Per NFL Network... The NFL and NFLPA have confirmed that Goodell is recusing himself from the upcoming Bountygate appeals. He will be replaced by former commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
  2. It's time to stop living in the past - that's half the reason why Buffalo Niagara cannot move forward. We get it - it takes forever for things to change - but if you're talking about a billion dollar private investment - things will get done and most will not stand in the way of it because it will be driven by Cuomo; not mickey mouse guys like Higgins and Mayor Brown or the Mayor of NF. Yes, people can argue over the Peace Bridge (for good reason) or the waterfront (whatever - there is plenty of it besides that smidgen near the Skyway) - but things will get done - just let go of the past. And to address your question about Grand Island - it was just suggestion - not a be all end all - like to see u come up with something instead of just B word - oh, and the damn bridges can open up during the game. GI residents are used to dealing with the bridges - they chose to live there - so get over it.
  3. Numerous transportation options for Niagara Falls... North Bound Travelers – BUF/Amherst/South towns: 1) Both Grand Island Bridges can be used going North bound during game days before the game and both South bound after the game - traffic not going to the game could be rerouted via NF BLVD, River Road via NT. 2) River Road to LaSalle Expressway also avoids the 190 all together. 3) Niagara Falls BLVD for Amherst/Williamsville folks. 4) Future ferry service between DT Buffalo/Grand Island/NT to Niagara Falls can run on game days. 5) Future Metro Rail Expansion. West Bound Travelers – Lockport/Rochester, etc. 1) RT31 and RT104 for Lockport and Rochester folks. 2) NY Thruway - via Pembroke Exit. Canadian Travelers: 1) Canadians can use the Lewiston Queenston Bridge and arrive via the 190 and go through Hyde Park via Porter/Packard Exit or via Deveaux/104, etc. 2) Canadians can walk or drive across the Rainbow Bridge. 3) Trains from Canada can use the Whirlpool Bridge. 4) There is talk between Niagara on the Lake and Youngstown to offer ferry service between the two towns. And NO - we're not changing the name of the team - they will always be the Buffalo Bills.
  4. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4697912/jerry-jones-nfl-should-outlaw-kneel-downs Not adverse to this... you play 60 mins.
  5. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2012/9/18/3354658/deion-branch-new-england-patriots-return Would have liked him in BUF.
  6. I respectfully disagree. The local politicians get it... the money for this project, however, is coming from the State.
  7. Do not like what I read in today's newspaper regarding the lease. Is it time to start calling the Governor? Anyone know how to create a Facebook page so that we can circulate/join demanding that our leaders come together to get this lease done now? http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120911/CITYANDREGION/120919780/two-bills-drive You can contact the Governor by calling: Or use this form to email him directly: (518) 474-8390 http://www.governor.ny.gov/contact/GovernorContactForm.php Please share any other ideas on how we can get pressure on our leaders to get this thing done... thanks. Go Bills
  8. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is bringing in a veteran sports attorney to help him protect the Buffalo Bills as a local institution.
  9. Does anyone have a link to what the proposed Lancaster dome would have looked like?
  10. Never said anything about Buffalo hosting a Super Bowl; simply implying that a downtown stadium can work and Indy's urban planning is pretty good.
  11. apuszczalowski hit the nail on the head. Also, Indianapolis made out quite well and will definitely host the Super Bowl again. Buffalo could learn a lot from Indy. Super Bowl XLVI's Real Winner? Indianapolis!
  12. You have a small market team playing in a state with the second highest level of government and state spending. That is why NY State will continue to bail out any team that plays in WNY. Regarding all this discussion about taxes, money and what downstate and upstate want - what's a hundred million when this state spends over $302 billion dollars a year? The Bills will never leave WNY - no matter what the folks in Albany B word about and the freaks in NYC want. Go Bills
  13. Let's stop being so dramatic here folks. I was at the game. Did it feel different? Yes. But did I see and hear more Bills fans? I did. But did it feel sterile and forced? Yes. But this was the first year that the Rogers Centre appeared sold out. It took me 1/2 the first quarter to acclimate to the differences. I sat at the 50 yard line - 30 rows up from the field. Seats were $340 each. I got the tickets for free. I would never sit that low again. There was no pitch - so, it was hard not to want to watch the jumbotron rather than the game. These seats would be great for a baseball game; but not football. I, on the other hand, could not believe how many BILLS fans and Bills jerseys, etc. I was actually impressed. We took the train from Burlington and was amazed how many BILLS fans got on the train from each stop all the way into Toronto. We need these fans. On the way home; standing room only on the train - and mostly bills fans. Were there other jerseys and redskins fans - yep - but no different than the Ralph; EXCEPT for the atmosphere. The whole game day experience is flawed. No tailgating as we all know. And the atmosphere at the game was sterile. I actually felt uncomfortable seeing videos on the jumbotron of Bills players telling "Toronto fans to get off their seats and yell." It was just so forced. We all can agree that we are not a fan of the Toronto series but we have to accept it. The Bills success and long term future in Buffalo is contingent on similar success up in Toronto. Go Bills
  14. Link to the selected architectural firm Populous - Stadium Projects. Also, more details from John Wawrow: Bills stadium renovations suggest team to stay put
  15. I thought I saw a thread here earlier in the year that listed web addresses for opposing teams message boards but cannot seem to find it... I enjoy reading what our opposing fans have to say about the upcoming game, etc. I typically use Google and find what I need but this week - either Giant fans aren't too active or I just can't seem to find the best one; cuz they're all rather quiet, etc. http://boards.giants.com http://www.touchdownblue.com/ giantsfans.net www.zetaboards.com Any thoughts? Which site do you reference? thanks!
  16. Check out hotwire.com. I just booked a hotel/sport-ute package for $75 plus tax. I could not see which hotel I was booking but selected a four star and ended up with the Sheraton in Dallas for that weekend. Go Bills!
  17. New England game planning to physically take him out early... protect FITZ.
  18. If the actual FALLS cannot save the city of Niagara Falls NY, a stadium anywhere in Niagara Falls will not help one bit - just like the Casino has not helped. I am from Lewiston; now live in MA... was home this weekend for the holiday and decided to watch the fireworks in Niagara Falls. The city is a mess. Pine Avenue is a mess. Main Street is a mess. Some of the housing stock is ok but most of it is shot. There is NO sex appeal about the actual city except for its name and the state park. Anyone suggesting they build the stadium either on the state park or anywhere near the actual FALLS or Rainbow Mall have no clue wtf they're talking about... EVERY politician associated with Niagara Falls, on the local, county and STATE (yes, Governor, I am talking to you) - should be embarassed and responsbile for what Niagara Falls is today... the area should be deemed a disaster area and rebuilt. Only then, can we seriously talk about Niagara Falls as a viable option. Given the economic and socio-economic conditions of NY State - our options include: 1) Remodel current location 2) Build in Buffalo 3) Build near UB North off 990 and team up with SUNY Buffalo Bulls 4) Build on Grand Island near Beaver Island - amazing views of both the Falls, skyline of both Buffalo and Niagara... (yes, build a bridge from Canada to GI; and another access point near NT). 5) Niagara Falls
