McDermott is using the bend don't break defense that focuses on the principle of pressure creates turnovers. We just don't create enough pressure and get steamrolled by the run. Our offense rolls during the regular season until we come up against the best defenses and then we get stuffed but can't stop them. It's like a bad dream that comes back every year.
How to keep McDermott when we have a defense that has been bad for awhile now is bad. He isn't winning games, Josh is. If we had to live with our back up we would be ridiculously bad.
Ok 1st down 8 guys in the box and josh goes with a run, no gain. 2nd down All dbs and he stays with a pass underneath 3 yards. Same look with a blitz and he throws into triple coverage. Those three plays say either Josh either can't call out of a play or is making bad decisions.
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't restructuring, kick the can down the road and create cap issues for the following years? So that we never get a chance to catch up? Like credit card debt?
