Final Member of the Practice Squad?
Steven in MD replied to Griff28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would a player decline a practice squad position? -
Can some explain this to me and my buddies
Steven in MD replied to daquixers_is_back's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
-110 means you bet $110 and if you win you get back 110+100=210 +110 means you bet $100 and if you win you get back 100+110=210 you can do this for $11 and get back $21. Football uses the point spread to keep the odds at -110 for the selection of either team, so scenario #1 only applies in NFL football. Make sense? -

Jim Rome has that title hands down -
Yes, the funny thing about that comment is that a Skins fan said to me, you have to love GW, he brings 8 guys every down, and it creates pressure that most teams cannot handle. Reminded him of Buddy Ryan.

THe scary thing is that Greggo is almost God like here. He is a real media darling, and the locals believe that they got a steal when Synder overpaid for him. The media reported he got 7 calls for HC positions at the end of last season, and Synder outbid them to keep his services. I cannot wait till they realize the Emperor has no clothes.

Correlation between early OL picks and winning
Steven in MD replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First, either you meant r=-0.015 or your software is faulty, you cannot have a negative R^2. Second, Orlando Pace (Rams won a SB). Jonathan Ogden (Ravens won a SB) Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson (Seahawks went to SB). Except for the Patsies, most successful teams have a first round OL on the line. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remeber he was cut by the Bills and put on their PS. All teams had several chances to claim him..none did. Maybe you are all correct that the Bills patience will pay off....we shall see. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah....my company and my professional work is totally different than opining on the Buffalo Bills....but I can see how one can confuse it. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong twice...three times a charm? Thought the Bills converted him...but now that I think about it, you are correct, because I was pissed that TD used a 4th overall on a RT....yikes...old age -
Anybody watching Miami vs. Carolina?
Steven in MD replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Another post where I get to disagree....but I like how Marv did it...Starters play 2-3 series...then out. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am wrong....Peppers plays LDE....IMHO I think Peters is average...when the season starts we shall see. I am less hung up on converted TE, then he was converted from TE because the Bills lacked depth at RT last season. I knew MW would struggle because he played LT in college and the RT was different footwork. I think Peters does not have the pass blocking footwork. He developed a TE mentality of run blocking footwork...that is all...we can agree to disagree. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct if I am wrong, but Peppers usually lines up over the LT. He lined up over the RT, and still beat him easily. I guess most people are high on this guy, but I think he will be just an average to below average RT during the season...IMHO -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very serious....I am not impressed with Peters at RT. He is an excellent run blocker, but Julius Peppers made that boy look like a turnstile on pass plays. -

Each team has to cut their roster down next Tuesday. I bet you will see more bubble players getting time to be evaluated for the Bills. That is how Marv runs a team, and I expect he told Jauron the same. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Steven in MD replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Gibson cannot beat out a converted TE for the RT position, he does not belong on this team. I doubt Jauron brought him in to backup Peters. I think he had intended to get a real RT, and not we are stuck with a TE who got moved into the RT position out of the lack of depth. -

Steven in MD replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both teams played first stringers deep into the 3rd quarter....how can either coach assess the bubble players? -
Love the type there too.... Damian Strohmeyer (Sam Adams, Jeff Posey & Woody Damien ) Should have been Damien Woody...but SI got a Woody for Damien
-
Yes, I believe we will go 16-0....sheesh the season has not started, and New England sucks!

DJ knows how to use the preseason
Steven in MD replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you follow other sports, you can see that addition by substraction has helped teams be successful. I look at the Sabres and the Detroit Tigers as two teams that win with "inferior" talent. If a coach puts the players in situations where they can win, I believe that is the key to success.....but then again, I am a huge fan of Marv so I believe that he knows what he did...and we the fans will reap the reward. -
There are people all over this country that would buy the Bills with the intention of moving the team. They might lose money for a few years, but would make it up in incentives from cities looking to move a team (i.e. LA or San Antonio). Marv and Ralph have remained committed to the WNY region, and to WINNING the ole fashion way. We can debate if their 1990's mentality of high character guys plays out in 2006, but Joe Gibbs thinks his 1990's thinking could work in Washington!
-
Marv just giving these guys some time to catch on elsewhere....classy guy is this guy Marv!
-
The truth is a very powerful thing. I also admired the Bills for the truth that came out of One Bills Drive. For the last 5 years I lost interest in the Bills because Ole Whitey and company lied to and insulted Bills fans. The Bills might go 0-16 or 16-0, it does not matter because they are now a team you can respect. They treat the fans and players with respect, and Marv still has the passion to win. I think most fans will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this season.

Who is the worst Bills QB of all-time?
Steven in MD replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Todd Collins is such a stiff, how does he last 10 years in the league? He might not be the superstar we all hoped for, but he is solid enough to be the backup for KC and now the Skins....RJ could not even manage that! -
