Of course. Because every team looking for a head coach sucks, and he would be a huge improvement and exactly what any of them need to right the ship and fix the culture. The real question is: If there was an open HC spot on any of the TOP teams, would any of them hire McDermott? If Reid has a massive coronary, do you think the Chiefs would want to replace him with McD? If the Ravens fired Harbaugh, do you think McD would be what they are looking for to take the next step? If the Lions lost Campbell, do they hire McD? The Bengals? Maybe the Eagles? IMO, McD's sweet spot outside of Buffalo would be going back to Carolina and fixing that franchise in a very winnable division. Assuming Tepper could stay out of his way. Or teams like the Bears, or even the Raiders.

I'd say Philly is more in the mold of teams we do not match well against. They are my biggest worry of all the teams left in the playoffs.

And then out of that group, think of the person who has nothing else going on in their life but to call into a sports radio show and sit on hold for hours, and how they got into that position in their lives. Not the best of the bunch here.

Kudos all around. Wasnt a perfect game, especially for Brady. But McD had the guys ready to play a very physical game, and no errors in clock management, etc. The FG was absolutely the right call, even if Andrews catches that 2 pt. It's not the aggressive, sexy call and I was a bit bummed. But it's the right call. Very impressed with this win tonight. Happy to give McDermott credit for a lot of that.

Well, that is because there are numerous examples of Josh taking the game in his own hands, going off script, and doing what it takes to win. The most recent example is the 4th down throw to Ty Johnson. Sure, McD had to make/go along with the decision to go for it on 4th down, but he even stated in his post-game that the pass wasnt the play they called but "he trusts Josh" (read: to save his ass). Whenever the ball is in our hands at the end of the game, Josh comes through with a big play to score. Like the improvised 4th down run against KC this year, and going all the way back to 13 seconds in 2021. Conversely, whenever the team needs to rely on the Defense to get a stop and end the game, they fail. McD has no answers as a "defensive guru". Additionally, there are numerous examples of McD dropping the ball at the end of the game as a HC. Whether through poor clock management, or major blunders where the team was clearly not prepared. Big example would be the Broncos game last year. We let a hapless Russell Wilson drive on us and get into FG range, and then double-blow it by having 12 men on the field, allowing them to move even closer and re-kick after missing the first one. I've given McD a ton of credit in post-game threads this season regarding having the entire team ready to play physically, and having a good game plan put together. And will always do so. I'm not a blindly biased hater. But in clutch moments, when we need to rely on one of them directly, one always comes through and performs and one always lets us down. Nearly impossible given the state of the rest of the division and us having Josh. Regardless of who is coaching, our floor for the next 3-5 years is Division Champ.

Not a mistake. Nick said a 3rd home divisional loss WOULD be unacceptable. #1 Bengals in Buffalo in 2022, #2 Chiefs in Buffalo last year, #3 would be this Sunday. And all 3 of those would follow the 2021 13 seconds debacle.

He's been catching a lot of flack for that on the socials, but it's exactly what he should do. If he goes running right, toward the Denver sideline, following Josh, he'll never be able to block anyone. And he'll be completely out of position if Josh decides to change direction and come back toward Dion. Dion "staying home" gives him the ability to legally crackback block any number of defenders in pursuit of Josh if he comes back Dion's way. But it does look funny how the OL just stop like "Josh has this now"

I cant buy it. No way an NFL ref went over to an individual player and APOLOGIZED or took ANY accountability at all for a bad/missed call, let alone in the middle of a game. If/when that ever happens, it's a discussion with the head coach. If a ref is talking directly to a player, it's about keeping the player's behavior in check. I think all the niceties you point out were just the Ref's way of keeping his admonishment buddy-buddy. Much like the moment in The Office after Michael kicks everyone out of the office and tells Stanley "You dont respect me, fine. I accept that. But listen to me. You can't talk to me that way in this office, you just can't. I am your boss."
