  1. I completely disagree with the conclusion. The truth is that the media reports Islamic and Christian extremism, but not Israeli/Jew/Zionist. If this is just one act of "extremism" that "doesn't represent mainstream Israel," why is the elected Israeli public official who did it still in office? It is also inaccurate to describe the Islamic outrage at the Koran shooting as just the extremist Islamic people. In fact, as is usually the case, the radical Islamic types appreciated the Koran shooting, as it verified their take that we are at war with Islam. If we verify their takes, they get more recruits. Indeed, the censorship of the AP Bible burning story seems aimed at Pastor Hagee's "Christians united for Israel," because the members of that group might not be so eager to "unite for Israel" if they had not been censored by a media that clearly has double standards in what it reports and does not report. Both the burning and the subsequent censorship of the story represent a particularly annoying "supremacist" attitude. And, indeed, as you posted, they "spit" on the hand they want not only to feed and protect them, but to wipe out all of their enemies there.
  2. Same reason Bush apologized and disciplined the troop who shot the Koran - desecration of Holy text is an awful act of hate and intolerance... unless you think Christianity is somehow a "lesser religion" and hence deserves a double standard... http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/05/20/...uran/index.html Indeed, the comp of our troop who shot the Koran vs. their elected official guiding hundreds of kids to do the Bible burning is itself a pretty poor comp to justify censorship and no apology. Indeed, the Bible burning Israeli official appears to be still in office.
  3. Having watched all the fuss about our one troop who shot a Koran, the incredible media coverage it got, not to mention a Presidential apology, the complete censorship of this story is both shocking and telling. Aside from the IHT and CNN websites, this story does not exist, except it was an AP story and reportedly parts of Europe and Russia got it, because they complained when the elected Israeli official who directed the mass Bible burning didn't seem to think he had done anything wrong. Indeed, it appears he is still in office today, because the story went nowhere here... http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/05/20/...ment-Burned.php "Orthodox Jews set fire to hundreds of copies of the New Testament in the latest act of violence against Christian missionaries in the Holy Land." ""I certainly don't denounce the burning of the booklets," he said. "I denounce those who distributed the booklets."" The CNN online version is here http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/05/28/...ning/index.html Given all the money and military support we give this country, Israel, we deserve a big time apology for this, and this elected official needs to go. We also deserve to ask some questions: 1. who is this guy? 2. does his party support Bible burning? 3. why is he still in office? 4. why was the story here in the US censored from every TV, newspaper, magazine and radio despite originating as an AP story in the IHT? In other words, our media elites saw this story. They see all AP stories. There was a "consensus" amongst our news entities that this was "not news." Why? Sure looks and sounds like news to me...
  4. Don't be shocked if Marcus Buggs beats out Bowen for the final OLB spot.
  5. Marcus Buggs is a seriously good athlete who can still get better at disengaging from blocks and tackling, but is already an excellent nickelbacker type with wheels and hips to stay with elite NFL TEs. Like the other Vandy players, Buggs is also smart and of high character. He projects as a Will. Buggs was a HS RB and, judging from his wheels, he likely should have stayed there, meaning his wheels are that good. The Bills really ought to do themselves a favor and check Buggs out as a RB too. Don't assume the Vandy coach had him at the right position. The Vandy coach, Bobby Johnson, certainly did not play at Vandy, in part because he had no chance getting past the academic requirements. The truth is that Vanderbilt had a record Draft class this year, but was once again unable to stop the losing streak at 25. Bobby Johnson is a terrible gameday coach. Vandy lost three late heartbreakers to UGA, UK, and UT, and would have been in the SEC Championship had they won those. They fumbled on the UGA 10 yard line with 2 minutes to go after blowing a 17-7 halftime lead because Bobby was dumb and sat on the lead and also rotated QBs the whole game, despite the clear and obvious truth that one of them was too injured to throw properly. They ended the UK game at UK's 20 down 6 going out on downs. Then Vandy blew a two touchdown lead at UT. Bobby Johnson lucked out landing Jay Cutler, whose other offers closed up on him. Then Bobby was able to recruit players like Earl Bennett off Cutler. But, truth be told, Bobby is just seriously talented at losing SEC games. This was a much better Vandy roster than its record. The notion that Vandy is better "because" of Bobby Johnson is totally wrong. Bobby Johnson had the best Vandy talent ever, and simply found ways to lose with it. Marcus Buggs is such a talent, and he goes undrafted in part because the NFL is extremely dumb and doesn't get it that Bobby Johnson lost with an incredibly talented Vandy roster. You will be pleased with Buggs. The kid is a player.
  6. NO WAY are we giving up on George Wilson, who will continue to have a very steep learning curve. He and Whitner, and Ko if he recovers, are fine.
  7. There has to be something "radioactive" about Dre Moore. Too many teams in desperate need for a 2 gap DT passed on this kid, who, on the field and as an athlete with upside, was just behind Dorsey and Ellis. Rumors that his combine interviews "did not go well" started. Here he is still on the Board. Connor, sorry Happy Valley folks, is just not going to be a special player in the NFL. Why some think height makes a TE is also pretty sorry...
  8. Craig Stevens TE Cal Keenan Burton WR Kentucky Titus Brown DE Miss State Shawn Murphy OG Utah State Earl Bennett WR Vanderbilt
  9. "Craig Stevens in Round 6" Just make sure you notice where he actually does go...
  10. He and Stevens are the two who fit that description. Carlson also has less "climate change" risk. Players from schools with no snow - remember Roscoe Parrish's first response to snow? The only snow Roscoe had ever seen before was spilling out of a plastic bag.
  11. ... because you read that on KFFL, and hence that became "your" "opinion."
  12. "Manningham is good, he ALWAYS gets open." Not against Zack Bowman of Nowledge in a 2005 Bowl game. Bowman shut him down.
  13. KFFL has a huge list of TEs the Bills are reportedly "considering." One name not on that list is Cal's Craig Stevens, who LaDairis thinks is the real target. Stevens is healthy, smart, and high character, not to mention the best blocking TE in the Draft and an adequate receiver with excellent speed.
  14. I'll do a Second Day... 114 Keenan Burton WR Kentucky 132 Shawn Murphy OG Utah State 147 Titus Brown DE Miss State 179 David Vobora LB Idaho (a Dan Conner clone for a much better price) 219 Marcus Buggs OLB Vanderbilt 224 Henry Smith DT Texas A&M 251 Benjarvus Green Ellis RB Miss
  15. So drunk you misuse "your" when it should be "you're."
  16. There is way too much Happy Valley homerism in this thread
  17. That remains to be seen. The "doubles" on the DEs are usually from TEs or FBs. KW requires doubles for sure, and gets them all the time. Allen had Hali on the other side last year and was not regularly double-teamed. This year, as of now, he has next to nothing. If the TE or back doesn't have to double on the other DE, then they can focus doubles on both KW and Allen with just six guys. As for the "proven Pro Bowl" player, that's the Bob McAdoo analogy all over again. The guy cares about his own sack total a lot more than whether or not the team wins. Since so many morons disguised as "gurus" do as well, the guy is now filthy rich despite his character, a truly sad example of stat parroting trumping reality in an NFL FO. "But, I get NOWHERE unless the team wins" Robert De Niro as Al Capone
  18. Perhaps the objective was to acquire good players, not former First Round flops who don't produce against single coverage by nickel backs. Byrant Johnson sukks, period, that's why he went for that price.
  19. Last year and 05 come to mind. This year's Draft is vastly better than last year's at RB, OL, CB, LB, TE. QB, WR and DL are about the same. Safety was clearly stronger in 07.
  20. Watching the SEC last year, it was reasonably apparent that Miss State DE Titus Brown was a better football player than Harvey last year. Harvey has the "potential" to be a very good player. The problem is that he isn't at his "potential" yet, and spending the 11 on a player like that is unjustifiable. If Harvey is there at 11, that will greatly improve the chances of a trade down, a good one. Trade down, get Titus Brown much later, and address all the other needs.
