1. Mine - since I now have them on most of my fantasy teams.

    Troy Williamson

McNair - He goes undrafted a lot, I expect 3200+ yards from him

Michael Jenkins (sort of, I expect 800 yards from him)

Toefield - I expect Taylor to get hurt

Those are all I can predict with any confidence. Maybe Braylon Edwards is another I keep in the back of my mind.

I think Ben Watson could be this years Antonio Gates. Ricky Williams, when he comes back from vacation will be used extensively or be dealt. Imagine the Vikes calling for him by week 6 because of a banged up Bennett and an overworked Moore. Without Moss, they need that pounding runner. The Vikes might be contenders as they are now, but a Ricky addition would put them over the top.

  2. eeek gross. didn't know miller was a backup. any other te's you can use? who's opposite dallas clark on indy this year. anybody on a team with peyton is bound to do well.

sorry I'm of no real help to you. your desicion sucks either way.

    433645

Ben Hartstock plays second fiddle to Clark, who by the way, is questionable this week.

  3. I think that Kelly, in his prime, was better than Drew, but imo, you are as off base as the original poster to state that they dont "compare" in any way.

    Yardage

The above is one area in which they certainly compare.

    TDs

    There is another.

Kelly was not God, ya know? He too needed a ton of blocking (especially near the end), and neither of them brought us a superbowl.  :P

    418949

Come on. You know it's more than the numbers. No comparison.

  4. You would almost think that Drew must have owed some people money on here .. or got their sister knocked up .. with the constant bashing the guy gets ...

Looking back at the line of QB's the Bills have had from Jim Kelly and on ... Drew was darn OK ...

Comp Att Comp % Yds Y/Att TD Int Rating

    2004 9-7 Drew 256 450 56.9 2932 6.5 20 16 76.6

    2003 6-10 Drew 274 471 58.2 2860 6.07 11 12 73.0

    2002 8-8 Drew 375 610 61.5 4359 7.15 24 15 86.0

    2001 3-13 Van Pelt 178 307 58.0 2056 6.70 12 11 76.4

    Johnson 134 216 62.0 1465 6.78 5 7 76.3

    2000 8-8 Johnson 175 306 57.2 2125 6.94 12 7 82.2

    Flutie 132 231 57.1 1700 7.36 8 3 86.5

    Flurie 202 354 57.1 2711 7.66 20 11 87.4

    1997 6-10 Collins 215 391 55.0 2367 6.05 12 13 69.5

    1996 10-6 Kelly 222 379 58.6 2810 7.41 14 19 73.2

    1995 10-6 Kelly 255 458 55.7 3130 6.83 22 13 81.1

    1994 7-9 Kelly 285 448 63.6 3114 6.95 22 17 84.6

    1993 12-4 Kelly 288 470 61.3 3382 7.20 18 18 79.9

    1992 11-5 Kelly 269 462 58.2 3457 7.48 23 19 81.2

    1991 13-3 Kelly 304 474 64.1 3844 8.11 33 17 97.6

    1990 13-3 Kelly 219 346 63.3 2829 8.18 24 9 101.2

So lets see ... Jim Kelly (who is my favorite!) had 5 fairly average years ,, in fact last 5 years had almost the same TD's as INT's

Then Todd Collins .... fairly bad

Then the Flutie / Johnson years ... 3 winning years and pretty good TD / INT numbers ... so for all the bashing also did not do so bad ...

Van Pelt ... numbers are not so bad for a 3-13 team

Drew ... 2 more losses than wins ... his completion percent and yardage as good as Kelly ever did .. his rating was as good As Flutie and equal to Kelly's last year

Bottom line ... Drew did a fair to average job as QB ...highest yardage year of anyone and no reason to bash the guy ... HELL of a lot better than ANYONE on this board could have done !

There are MANY other factors to consider but they are not just QB factors (like running game, WR's, OL, quality of the D, special teams) but with just the QB numbers Drew was at least as good as the past QB's

    418939

This has to be the most ridiculous post I've ever seen! Let me get this straight, Travelingman. You're comparing Kelly to Bledsoe?!?! I don't need to explain how absurd that is, I'm sure others will. Not only do you compare those two, but your "accurate" assessment that DB would do better than "any of us" is some hard hitting commentary. HE'S A FREAKIN NFL QB, I would hope he's a little better anyone on this board(...and not by much). If your purpose was to stir the pot, you've done that. If your purpose was to somehow to convince others that DB, in ANY way compares to Jimbo, you've failed miserably. JEEZ........

  5. I buy my gas from the reservation.  I couldn't tell you, nor do I care where they get it from.

It's too bad ethanol isn't a reliable source of fuel.  The US government wouldn't have to pay farmers anymore.  And everything would be grown here in the USA.

    416218

Ahhhhhhh.....yes.....some good 'ol homegrown.....now you're talkin' bro!!

  6. Well said, although I would say both he and Aikman weren't throwbacks at the start of their career.  The salary cap simply does not allow for a balanced team with the "prototypical" drop back passer because either the O-line has to be top notch, too, which means there is no money for the defense (Think Indy).  The zone blitz just piles on the need for a smarter, more mobile QB.  Bledsoe isn't either of those.

By the way, if I remember correctly Kenny O'Brian was more a accurate passer than Elway, Kelly, or Marino.  He just didn't have the time to get the pass off before he was sacked.  He also didn't have Bledsoe's durability, either.

    409731

It always comes back to his durability, doesn't it? He has been remarkably durable. In a strange twist of fate, it was his LACK of durability (the Mo Lewis hit) that propelled the Pats to an amazing run. His lack of durability, because of that one moment changed one franchise forever, while it gave false hope to another. Now, I understand the hit he took was quite disturbing, but the only asset he has now is his durability. I believe we have/will brush off this set back by the DB era. DB will, however, be the posterchild of these last few miserable years. We all believed in him to some degree and he failed. He failed totally and miserably. Be fair now. We don't forget or stop reliving the the Kelly/Thomas/Reed/Smith era, why ignore the DB era. It may not be all on DBs shoulders, but make no mistake, he was at the heart of our disenchantment. I'm moving on, but not forgetting. That is the essence of sport. We live and die (in our sports world) with the players that wear OUR uniforms. We praise the good and bemoan bad. As it should be. Peace.

  7. I've done 3 leagues so far and Manning and LT have gone 1 and 2 in all 3.  I haven't picked top two, but if I did, I would have to go with one of them.

If you don't want Manning, I think Alexander would be the way to go.  Manning would be really hard to pass up though (and this is coming from a guy who hates drafting QB's early)

    409237

I take a look at Mannings schedule and it SCREAMS easy. Though I don't like going QB here, he almost has to be the pick. This forces my hans in rounds 2 and 3 to go RB. Is it unreasonable to think that guys like Steven Jackson @ 2 and LaMont Jordan @ 3? That looks pretty good actually.

  8. Silly mocking of a player who is one of the most durable at his position.

He had a MRI because his foot was hurting in a way it normally wasn't and he wanted to make sure he did not further injury an injury he was unaware of.

I didn't like Bledsoe as a QB and I did not want to trade for him although I thought he did a good job staying alive for THREE YEARS behind a line which looked like NYC bar patrons derived of their constitutional right to smoke.  I do not think mocking him for mentioning a foot pain makes any sense; it makes Bills fans seem like bad sports, a fact which is often true.

    409559

Alright. I won't mock his wonderful durability. I will, however, mock his miserable play and grossly pathetic quotes that he continually spews. I'll be the first to say he's a nice guy, but as an NFL QB, he sucks. Say what you want about our porous line while he was here, but he didn't do ANYTHING to help the cause. I'm so glad he's gone. It's funny how things come full circle. Parcells brought DB into this league and DB will return the favor by taking Parcells out of this league. Can you say Custer's last stand?

  9. Willis won't make it to 4th or 5th in your league? Possibly 1st overall? One question... CAN I PLEASE JOIN YOUR LEAGUE??

Seriously, I won't be shocked if he goes top 10 in my league, but that's because my league is like any other league around here, and we have a few Buffalo homers.

I think McGahee has the "potential" to be a 1700+ year runner this year, but we are basing this all on 10 games.

Personally, I'd prefer guys who have shown me something for more time than that:

These are players who, if available, I would pick over Willis:

    Thomlinson

    Holmes

    Peyton Manning

    Duece McAllister

    Jamal Lewis

    Ahman Green

    406459

Shouldn't Alexander be on this list? I'm in a 10 team league that drafts next Monday night. I know LT is going 1st overall and for me at #2, I was thinking Alexander or Manning. I lean towards Alexander mainly because i don't like drafting a QB that early. Any thoughts on picking 2nd? I enjoy looking at others rosters and posting them here for others to rate. I will post mine Tuesday morning for others to pick apart.

  10. As seen in the TBD3 league, I only have two players rated above WM...Manning and Tomlinson.

IMO, the rest of those guys will all have VERY similar seasons, so being a Bills fan I want McGahee on my team.  Not exactly being a homer, but close!

The only other RB I would consider taking over WM is Alexander.  He gets a lot of TD's that really push his fantasy numbers up.  But I would rather take a flyer on McGahee.  It makes the fantasy season that much better.

    406654

    OR.....possibly worse!!

  11. Obviously you cannot be serious if you are saying Brady is a horrible QB.  Lead the league in TD passes in 2002, 9-0 in the playoffs, 11 TD's and 3 INT's in the post season.  Stats wise he is a top 10 QB.  When you are down by a score with two minutes left in the game in the playoffs, I don't think there is anyone in the league I would rather have leading my team down the field.

    408386

Eaaaaaaasy tiger. We all know how good he is. The rings say it all. No denying it. Just like there's no denying his preference to take the snap from under center as opposed to the shotgun.

  12. I agree with this guy, although Moulds is not as consistent as some of his buddies like Y.O. and Marvin harrison, although its hard when you've had mediocre QBs and constantly changing coaching staffs.  Despite that he is among the all time leaders in Bills receptions and TDs and yards.  All Moulds needs to do is have another season with 1,000 yards and 5-10 TDs.  We get that with Lee Evans on the other side, we'll be OK.

    407985

Agreed. I believe his numbers ought to be better as well. He should not be mentioned with the elite. He is a good WR that plays inconsistently at times. It is not a knock, I see the speed/strength and expect more at times.

  13. My vote would be the (boring) black/red/grey colors with the old sabres cross swords logo. that would be a very happy middle ground, just so that the don't have to repaint the arena and everthing.

    402269

I think a new paint job is in order, IMO. They might stucco the boards as well. Just for checking purposes. :D
