It's Time to Mandate Vaccines

Oldman is covering how organ selection works. And the vaccine is not controversial in the medical field. It’s controversial in American and Venezuelan social media. -

Vaccine vs covid side effects. Only 880,000 data points. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Sundancer replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Really nice drop worldwide. The delta outbreak + vaccines, it would seem. Clearly the case in the US. The vaccinated states mostly didn't have issues. Delta cranked through and killed/immunized the unvaccinated. The non-immune herd has shrunk in proportion to the immune. Still plenty of pockets of less robust immunity and unvaccinated but it's a trend that I hope continues. -

Yup. The CDC made a policy decision based on one data point that got a lot of headlines and made the anti-vax crowd giddy, but many other data points that showed vaccine effectiveness wanes in older people and in the end, the Provincetown study shows that vaccines work well too. In the end, the CDC recommended boosters for older and at risk people, which is entirely supported by the data. You likely don't understand VAERS. It's not garbage but nor is it some precise tool. The task that you and the anti-vax crowd use it for--to discredit vaccine safety--likely shows a lack of understanding of the tool. Berenson and Tucker misuse it completely. And in this little paragraph, you're mixing apples and cranberries. Be precise. Are we talking about VAERS or immunity? Instead of people being their immunologists and doctors, maybe they should just listen to their doctors. On the second topic, natural immunity works well, not as well as immunity +vax it would seem, but why get and spread covid to get it. Just get the nearly zero-risk vaccine. Don't believe me. Ask your doctor what you should do. The CDC is trying to get this data from the states. Here is one page that lists it through July with all the states that track it to that point. https://www.kff.org/policy-watch/covid-19-vaccine-breakthrough-cases-data-from-the-states/ And though you harp on wanting CDC data, you can get the data from various states and countries. You know what it shows? Being vaccinated gives a massive advantage to getting infected over unvaccinated. And if you look at hospitalizations and deaths, the difference is even starker. I doubt you're completely ignorant on this point but you want one specific data point from the CDC like that is your only answer. It's not. And guess what, see the primary rule: Ask your doctor what you should do on getting vaccinated. The virus lingers. PCR is the overly cautious approach to case detection. I am not demonizing you. But you're trying to undermine the vaccine effectiveness, wich is clearly established vs cases, transmission, and serious consequences. Don't believe me, ask your doctor. It's not garbage. The CDC mostly uses good data. They are better at it than you or me. The P-town study got blown up because people like you want to conflate it with vaccine failure, which it did not show. What's your doctor say? What's your doctor say vis-a-vis the CDC recommendation? What does an anti-vax person's doc say? We are living in a post-science world where PPP and Twitter are given more weight than scientists. And you were saying you aren't a conspiracist. Tell me: Why is the CDC lying to everyone? -

— Another study for AllPro and Plenz about the vaccine’s effectiveness vs transmission. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7040e1.htm Summary: Very effective, you’re wrong. Not sure why your ego won’t let you admit you’re wrong on this. I was wrong to think masks would be more effective. They turned out a bit effective but not as good as hoped. Just admit it: Vaccines slow transmission effectively too. -

Your reliance on VAERS data to link vaccines and deaths shows your “sources.” That’s got to be one of the most idiotic things you guys who think they know better latch onto. Alex Betenson, Tucker, a whole gang of folks who know nothing latching on to that. Anyways that’s been more widely debunked than the Provincetown study (1 immunocompromised desth in 1000 cases almost entirely among visitors to the community during bear weekend…so many good data points on the vaccine missed in the anti vax eagerness about that). Open your sources and you’ll see why that’s a joke of a data point. But understanding the limitations of VAERS is most of your answer: you don’t get “vaccine caused a death” from anything in VAERS. Maybe you’re not a conspiracist. You’re a guy who thinks he does science better than doctors and experts like most who post here. But I ask you: why are those folks whose job is science out to mislead you? -

He seems obsessed with conspiracies and believes he has more knowledge than massive groups of scientists. Not sure following his logic is the way to go, unless you think the Middle Ages provided a sensible scientific foundation for human progress. -
I've seen hamstring injuries that were much more slight at the time of injury than they were in a day or two. If he pulled it in any way beyond the slightest pull, he's out. Last year when he came back, it took 3+ games before he was really *back.* I suspect that this week, they need to come up with a non-Milano plan.

I'm not scared. I have never worn a mask voluntarily (except at the beginning TBH, when we didn't have a good bead on what was happening), go to whatever event I feel like, and am living my life within the rules set by the businesses that I frequent. I do support masking in health care settings. Seems like a really good outgrowth of people getting used to masking. But I got vaccinated to stop spreading a deadly disease that lead to a pandemic because it's the responsible thing to do and came at no risk. -

Maybe you didn't see what I wrote so I'll try again: What does your doctor say? Are they recommending that you skip the vaccine or get it? Plus, funny fact, if you don't get the virus, you can't spread it. And if vaccinated and you get the virus, you spread less. -

You said that I didn’t give you a timeline for the booster. What does that even mean? Speak clearly man! -
The Bills also played a lot of run D personnel. Rousseau is more of a pass defender at this point.

Wait wait this is funny. You asked me my opinions on certain topics and I gave them…and now I’m not taking a stand? WTF? I’m not sure anyone cares about my opinions besides you. Even I don’t care about my opinions as much as you Timmy. I don’t care about your opinions, though you have a certain gift for stating things as fact that are completely wrong and that’s been fun to call out. I don’t have any idea what you asked that I didn’t answer. I am sure the board is dying to know my thoughts on some topic that you want me to expound on. I don’t remember being obsessing about booster timelines. Are you in a fiction writing class with me as your main character? How much room am I taking up in your head man? Anyways sure let me know what it is you want my opinion on about boosters. I’ll then check with Pfizer and see what they want me to say. -

I’m not for mandates at all. People who don’t get vaccinated are complete and utter idiots who are irresponsible to society (assuming they don’t have a health reason), and I’d hope that lots of different elements of society push them to get the shot. If health care settings mandate it, that makes perfect sense to me and I support that completely but is up to them. Boosters seem logical for older people who have waning immunity as the science shows. May make sense for younger folks eventually but the science doesn’t seem to indicated right now. If you don’t know what I believe, don’t assume it. Link it or you’re full of *****. Sure. Walk into any cvs and fill out a form. I could get a booster and I’m neither of those. It ain’t rocket science. -

Link me to where I said this. You love to just make ***** up. Psst. They were spreading it. Covid kills other at risk people. In case you didn’t know. Sad but not relevant to anything I’ve said. Ok. To ignore the risk to 70 year olds who can get Covid from 16 year olds is not a convincing counterargument to this point. -

Sorry to again inject actual data. Pre-print but 50,000 people study. Vaccines prevent transmission too. Why? Mostly Because they prevent cases. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.09.28.21264260v1 You’re bullshitting us or they’re bullshitting you. get Covid: Risk death and transmit deadly disease causing pandemic get shot: sore arm and maybe a day of dragging Hmm now what should I do? -

The Provincetown study and Israel data have been discussed here already ad nauseum and also experts have weighed in with links elsewhere in this thread. Not going to rehash it but safe to say the vaccines work. The Provincetown study is perhaps the most debunked thing at this point. Not sure why you’re obsessed with Trump and Biden in this but whatever. If we had Denmark’s vaccination rate, we’d have Denmark’s outcomes. Both should be pushing their respective vax resistent based to get vaccinations. That would be leadership. And I won’t credit Biden for this but the admin is heavily invested in therapeutics. You just seem not to know it. -

They are and published it through April. Then they didn’t trust the state data and started a new tracking database. I expect that at the snail’s pace they move, we will see a case breakthrough report in 2028. That said I’ve linked to lots of country studies (here and abroad including state data) with huge numbers of patients pre and post Delta on breakthroughs and also severity. The data is in. It does not rely on your anecdote. It’s from experts, so it does not rely on yours and Timmy’s personal expertise in the field. Your Twitter PhD does not impress me. Theirs does. This thing where people get together and convince themselves they know more science than actual, ya know, scientists, is very pre-enlightenment. You’d likely have applauded gouging out Galileo’s eyes. “Earth Sure looks flat to me and it don’t feel like we’re moving. I saw a Tweet today …” Says the guy who held to his belief that the vaccines don’t work for most people after 6 months and ignored all the data I presented about it. I discussed Israel in depth at the time. You, not so much. -

You think that I only link to CDC data? Bzzzzt Wrong. I have linked to papers and studies from the US and other countries. And no, those aren’t anecdotes. For someone to draw a conclusion based on his own anecdotal experience to go on to question critical thinking is rich. -
